  1. That's insane
  2. I found this which would refer to 2007 built GTR's "Early vin JDM cars had a common fault with oil pump in the transmission failing causing the box to get no oil, hence failure"
  3. Either way the car is an absolute animal and no matter what one you buy and how much you payed, one drive and your hooked. No regrets.
  4. Personally I don't know as I have never done it consistantly. I did also say a "few" launch controls. I will only comment on something that I know about not what I have heard around the traps. Although I don't see people whinging on here that they have blown their ADM gearbox while using launch control or blown them at all.
  5. ADM's dont have Harsh Launch Controls, the revs were reduced. And once again, you heard stories nothing more.
  6. There are no issues with 09 + launch control. Any isues were seen in the 07-08 launch control and from what I understand they were over exagerated on the internet with hearsay etc. Don't you remember all the garbage that was flying around about the R35 GTR in the early days, basically none of it was true as the people spreading the garbage didn't own one or have any experience with one. Has anyone here had any experience with a stuffed gearbox through daily driving, a few launch controls or the occasional track day? I would think someone that races the car compeditivly might feel the need to upgrade some gearbox parts but for 98% of us it is not an issue at all. I am sure if ADM GTR guys were actually sending there cars back to Nissan with gearbox problems it would have been all over the internet years ago considering these cars are 3 years old now. Why can't we just put this gearbox issue to rest where it should have been in 2007.
  7. All the '09's are going to run out of warranty soon anyway. So the absolutely no warranty argument becomes void for them all shortly. As for never being launched, what would be the point of having the car if you don't launch it a few times? Aussie ddelivered GTR's had a watered down launch control and the original Jap spec ones (07 & 08) with the harsh launch control were no doubt exagerated on the internet anyway. How many daily driven ADM R35's have you heard of with stuffed gearboxes? I understand the part about being tracked and gearbox temps etc and I wouidnt like to own a track pig either, but honestly if the car presents well and drives well then what is the issue.
  8. Correct me if I am wrong but the "Black Box" does not hold data indefinately it is only over a short period of time. Please correct me if I am wrong but everytime they show me the graphs they only go back a month or so.
  9. For sure. Getting the revised map with the altered boost cutoff this afternoon so that should be good for a 0.1sec or so.
  10. I got the car back from Race Pace tonight and thought that I would test out the new mods with some 0 to 60mph times using the Cobb AP. Had some runs with no LC that were 3.05, 3.08 etc basically 3.0 something however when using LC which felt faster the Cobb would not give a result it just gave a readout of blank spaces. It felt like some of the LC runs should have been sub 3.0 so does anyone know if the Cobb reads lower than 3.0?
  11. An unknown can't just walk into Nissan and get that type of info.
  12. Definately an RS5 not R8
  13. I saw it on the South Eastern a couple of weeks ago. I thought it was Army but it was grey.
  14. I remember that when I was a kid. Thought it was a bit crap even back then.
  15. Yeah but I will bet any money it wont be a GTR that they race. What a shame as it would be ammusing to see a Nissan 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 etc finish year after year after year.
  16. This is a perfect statement, I know that I will only get literally one 1/4 run in my car then I will be booted forever unless I hack the car up which I am not prepared to do. All they need to do is have a seperate set of rules for cars built from 2000 onwards where the cutoff is dropped by 1sec.
  17. The short answer is NO and NO. This question has been copvered numerous times. Have a search.
  18. Hmmm.. That looks like easier access to those inlet pipes.
  19. I need a Haltech PS1000 Long Loom Kit (cheap) anyone?
  20. The V36 is the current Skyline. You can walk into Nissan today and buy a 2012 Nissan Skyline and this is what they will give you: http://www.nissan.co.jp/EN/lineup.html This stuff was hashed out 4 years ago. Can we leave it be.
  21. That's not the way I understand it. Slight model improvements in each year but I don't know if chalk and cheese is appropriate considering they have the same running gear. Time and time again it has been proven that with mods they all end up at the same performance level it's just that the 08-10 see more gains for the same amount of mods.
  22. No I was not including labour as all those mods are DIY. Injectors, pumps and tune are all that is needed to run an R35 on E85.
  23. Catless downpipes, midpipe, cold air intakes, 950cc injectors, HKS fuel pumps, turbo inlet pipes, retune, E85. Theres 420kw at the wheels. And you can still get the groceries, pick the kids up from school and drive past the cops without a second glance. Actually I added up those mods and I only paid $4000. I think Miles's mod list is as above without the turbo inlet pipes. So very basic mods. His car was in Wheels mag or some other mag like that and it was under 400kw at the wheels. Very dyno dependant so not a fair comparison in reality.
  24. Someone also forgets the price of the R32 GTR when it was released in Australia. Someone also forgets that for around an extra $5K the R35 will get 420kw at the wheels. Correct me if i am wrong but Skaife did Bathurst in 2:14:50 in the Winfield R32 GTR and Miles Tauber in his R35 GTR did it in 2:15:07. With an HKS1000 or Alpha 12 kit I think the R35 will easily beat the Winfield time without needing a professional race car driver at the wheel.
  25. In my opinion $175K is a good price as that is what they were in March 2009. Then they went up 10K.
