  1. Yeah I will be pulling them out on Monday to have a look and see which cylinder is having the problem.
  2. Here's the story. So I had this really weird problem happen yesterday. Driving to work in the afternoon and just cruising along and suddenly the car starts to have a really odd cruising note. Sounds almost wrx like, but really faint. Car is fairly temperamental so don't think much of it, vary the throttle a bit and it goes away but then comes back a few seconds later. Get closer to work and now it really sounds like a boxer. Not only that, now I can see white smoke in the rear vision mirror and car is popping a fair bit. Almost at work and it bangs a couple times out the exhaust . I'm talking proper Bee-R loud here (tune is a bit rich I think as it pop and flames from time to time in usual driving). Park up and leave the car idling. I can see a little white smoke from the exhaust and it sounds rexy like, but I can't see anything wrong in the engine bay. Ok so start the car to leave work this very early morning and car is fine. Nothing wrong at all. No smoke, No being a fake impreza. Back to normal. Drive for around 30 mins with a couple full boost pulls to make sure everything is fine, nothing seems wrong. Right after this I am about 10 mins from home and the wrx noise comes back really bad... Leaving a set of lights like a granny, hit 4th gear and loudest bang I've ever heard from the exhaust and see the brightest flame I've ever seen the car do out the corner of my eye reflecting off the night bushes. I can see more white smoke coming out the back than earlier. Stop at the last set of lights before my house to turn onto the highway and there is white smoke billowing out the exhaust, I turn the car off while I wait at the lights as it is way too much. I'm thinking oil smoke, but I can smell fuel really bad while I sit and wait for the lights. The light changes, I start the car and take off quickly. I can see a solid cloud of smoke where my car was as I leave the lights. It only smokes a little as I drive off though. Getting onto the highway I hit a bit of boost and the misfiring goes away? What?! I change gear and boost higher and, sure enough, the misfiring is gone while in high revs and boost. I get home, park up really quick and it's smoking like at the lights so I turn it off quickly. I get out to look at the muffler and there is smoke still wafting out, but it looks really weird and I can smell fuel. I let the car cool down to see if the problem goes away again, but no go this time. I took some vid: Idling Video1 Reving. I felt and smelt the stuff on the ground and it is definitely fuel, not coolant or oil and it's clear. Video2 Engine off. Video3 This is the closest thread I can find to the same issue after searching for a while http://www.skylinesa...-of-this-before I think maybe an injector is stuck open, which is maybe why it stops misfiring while on high revs and boost? That one is really confusing. AFM voltage is in spec on the Power FC controller. I've never seen an issue like this before. I don't get why it smokes white? A little bit unusual as over fueling is usually black smoke? I guess there is that much fuel it's more like vapourising than burning. Car is an R32 RB25DET stock internals, HKS GT-RS kit, FMIC, Nismo 700cc injectors, Z32 AFM, Brand new Nissan coil packs about 6 months ago, Power FC (possibly a pro version as when I hit limiter it's like a Bee-R) Hopefully someone has some insight on this.
  3. When you say 'ditch' do you mean turn off O2 feedback or get rid of it completely? Now I dunno what to think... I think i just need a partial and light throttle retune really. Maybe try running it with O2 turned off for a while and see if it makes a difference.
  4. How do you get such good mileage even with cams and 1000cc injectors?! I've got an S1 25det with power fc, GTRS turbo, 740cc injectors, pod, fmic, full exhaust, nismo fpr and i only get max about 360-380 usually in a 32 with a lot of highway driving. Tuned at Allstar after turbo kit was installed. This was during previous owner, have receipts. Oxygen sensor seems to be with voltage spec according to hand controller readouts.
  5. How much you think to send them to WA? Bought my 32 and it only has slotted on the rear so need some up front and was looking at doing the whole adapter thing.
  6. I like how people say the blades can break off or it damages your turbo yet stock redtop rb20's never had bov's.
  7. Oh nah i've owned and been working on skylines for over 8 years now. Far from not knowing things randomly break and stop working. I've just never had something major, like that, break before. It's already got an RB25 with a GTRS putting out over 300+rwhp. Guess the 2 way didn't help it in the antibreaking of rear end bits department either lol. Might be a sign to finally get my own welder?
  8. Yeah i was never going to drive it again with that sort of damage. Way too risky if it breaks through. I'm am thinking, though, weld it as a temp repair and get the sub frame checked out and replace as neccessary. Kinda poo seeing as I only got the car in february :\
  9. Well not quite... So driving to work yesterday evening I noticed something wrong with my steering as I got close to work. I had to hold the steering wheel to the right a bit to keep the car straight, thought it was a bit strange. I had noticed my front right castor was less than the left a few days earlier and thought it may have been the adjustment coming loose, made a note to check it at home. Driving home from work this morning with my mate in his own car (I had told him about the steering issue), he comes up next to me and says to pull over on the next road as my right rear wheel has a lot more camber than the left. Got out and had a look, thinking my wheel nuts had come loose or something. Wheel nuts looks fine, but I notice the increased camber and some toe out. Have a look underneath the car from the rear... Yeah so I drove home very slowly... That's the right rear lower control arm rear mount. The rusty spots looks like where it's been cracked for a while and the fresh metal is where it's cracked off yesterday. I only really want to know if I can get this welded up or if I have to replace the whole subframe. I'm leaning towards welding a new mount or even just cleaning it up and welding it back on with maybe some corner bracing to strengthen it. It also looks to still be attached at the top side. And also who could do this kind of work SOR? Maybe Lee Sanders? If you know anyone that can do this sort of thing (closer to Armadale the better) that would be some great help as I was hoping to attend the JDMWA meet

  11. Pretty sure you just need to change the speedo sensor in the gearbox or something along those lines. Either that or something to do with swapping the cogs on the sensors.
  12. Spotted light blue metallic v35 with gold meshies n polished lip bout 4pm vic park albany hwy on Monday. Pretty sure I seen it on someone's avatar. Also nice blue s15 just after.
  13. Well I do like a mint 120Y But more seriously, I didn't know it was a girl driving until cannington. Up until then I had already decided it was a nice example of 33ness. I just like the lip spoiler look and it had decent offset rims that weren't all like 'bling yo'
  14. Just spotted a nice silver R33 with lip spoiler and nice rims about 5:30am on Albany highway from Vic Park to Cannington. I don't normally like 33's, but this one looked quite nice. Was a chick driving. I was turning down Nicholson Rd and I think she was supposed to go straight, but then decided to turn as well to give me a run... She gave a wave out the window as she turned onto Corfield St. What a great way to end my work night
  15. I got mine out easy and it was on a 32 (RB25) which means less space. First unbolted the fueI line bracket and fuel filter brackets and pushed them down and forwards, used a deep socket and a short extension (about 5cm) and put my right arm down between the strut tower and under the plenum while looking down just behind the plenum with a small torch. Socket on and push downwards. May have to unplug and move the injector harness a bit, but this way did not take long at all.

If you got defected for that, I would be getting written evidence from the pits that the car does not require that part, then demand the wa police reimburse you for pit inspection costs and loss of income and that police officer to undergo retraining on defect infringements. Pretty fkn useless police officer...

  20. Is the up near gossie? I'm pretty sure I had a few mates go out there a couple months back and same thing happened to them. Not a good car park.
  21. Does anyone actually know if anywhere in Perth sells HEL braided clutch lines? I've got today to Monday to fix the car, but no point if I can't get a clutch line asap
  22. Ok so realised I need an R32 line not R33 RB25. I only have the slave cyl, but that kit won't fit unless it is similar to the R32 one which apparently removes all those extra lines.
  23. Yeah that was me actually, btw. Bit of a long overdue reply lol . It needs moar 16" semi race tyres instead of 17 low profiles. 60' times were crappppp!
