  1. Hey guys so after a comp test my engine has busted rings leading to 40psi. So I’ve taken them all apart. I’m the first owner in aus from Japan. My rods don’t all line up properly in numerical order. Also my piston caps have been stamped. Does this mean this engine was rebuilt with stock parts at some point ?
  2. interesting thanks fellas i think i have a bit better understanding. so let me get this, there is no specific tune names for tune, and the nistune is a daughterboard ecu for the stock, but the r34 ecu is remappable thus i don't need to buy a new ecu for the tune. i was chasing around 400HP. i googled nistune, didnt really tell me how much "make way more power than you will ever make, using nistune." so whats more recommended or vouched for? a nistune chip or apexi power fc?
  3. well some one was telling me that standard tune would be a nistune, then some say mild tune, then some say safe tune, i have no idea what they are on about. is there like different brand of tunes at different prices and stuff or am i looking at this the wrong way? well i went to one tuner. he say yeh get a nistune, cheapsest atm and can things simple go to a different tuner, and he says stay away from nistune because its out dated.. uses 300zx tech or something... man seriously didnt know wtf he was on about... i just nodded and smiled... so yeh... not sure how to approach getting car tuned etc.
  4. hey guys, looking to tune my r34 GTT heard some tuners say nistune is bad because it uses old tech, and some say its the best bang for money etc, just wondering if anyone can give me some info about different tunes etc?
  5. probably chasing about 400hp at the very end? any more than thats theres no where i can use that on in my area =/
  6. ok fair enough, cheers man, because the Greddy are 600x280x76, where as the generic is 600x300x76 so yeh not much difference
  7. if you got some spare cash id say just get new injectors and a new tune, that way you know exactly whats up
  8. im not sure exactly what your trying to ask? i mean i have taken the thing apart and changed the colour of my gauges?, also for the r34 the ecu is behind the back seat, if i think i understand what your asking it runs behind the stereo or that centre console area?
  9. GTSBoy nah not that much roughly 400hp should be enough for me GHO5T yeh i think you can just buy them separately from Greddy, i think.. ill have to search some more Grimesy fitting wise the cooler and all the pipes are identical to the Greddy one.. like i layed them out next to each other and its identical... so i just wasnt sure if the cheaper one was gonna case problems or fail... if people have had bad experience with the generic one then i would just get the Greddy straight out... so im just getting some opinions, because im doing up 2 r34.. so i gotta get two sets of either one xD
  10. hey guys been trying to find a thread but seriously after 2 hours of searching i gave up sorry. few question still running stock intercooler atm, but want to upgrade to a FMIC, done a bit of searching, just wondering if rumours are true or not etc. so Greddy FMIC kit was going for 800 from the Greddy site, full piping etc, and comes with a replacement water bottle as apparently the stock one is slightly in the way, has anyone bought a full Greddy kit? opinions also i found another FMIC non branded kit, with the exact same dimensions but no water bottle for 400. think its worth getting non branded? and probably use a heat gun and mold the stock bottle? should i do it? last one is Branded VS non branded for FMIC has anyone ever massive problems with non branded such and yeh... any info would be awesome guys!!! cheerss Conrad
