Actuator Thing Touching Jjr Dump Pipe
W0rp3D replied to WET-25T's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I have a jjr one piece split dump with a vg30 rear and have never had a problem, good value i say. the xforce cat does have a hole for the sensor, went to put mine on last weekend and could not get the sensor out of the old cat, have since found out that the sensor is only hooked up to a warning light, if it gets too hot, which usually means it has collapsed, then the light comes on, if i cant get another one by the weekend im just going to put a bolt in it. if i was you i would do what other people have suggested and just get in there with a die grinder and remove the section that the wastegate hits against. -
That would be awesome. Thanks.

I know what your saying but for most ppl they know there speeding so i dont think they have a right to whinge about it, there are some exceptions of course. As a truck driver my self it is my responsibility to drive to the conditions not the limit (as you learn in training, limits are made for cars not trucks), that is not to say that i can speed when ever i like, actually most of the time i reduce my speed for rough roads or when dick head car drivers are doing stupid shit in front of me. I have never been fined for speeding in a truck, only in a car.

As mentioned above the cat temp sensor is purely to warn you that the cat is getting hot because it has collapsed and is causing a restriction. The exhaust gas temp i believe is related to how rich/lean the engine is running, the leaner the engine gets the hotter the exhaust gas's get, just another way of warning the driver that something is not right.

I was going to change my cat on the weekend but couldnt get the sensor out so i left it till i figured out what it was for and whether or not it was required. Would like to replace it does anyone know where i can get a new one?

Will work with the power fc, it actually wires into your loom and gets the readings straight from the sensors. Another option is one called hks camp, just be carefull, there is a camp and a camp2, the original is apparently wired into the loom but the camp2 runs off the consult port and wont work with an aftermarket ecu. I did find one on yahoo and got all excited till i realised that the auction ended in june, there was 6 remotes in that auction but i could find an email to contact the guy to see if he wanted to sell the ej1 remote. I knew there was something i forgot, melbourne office close's at 5 so i tried the perth office (there 2 hours behind) three times and no one answered, slack arse sand gropers.

I was more having a go at other ppl whinging that they got done speeding, you initial question is a relevant one for some one who is use to things being done differently, as for the 10% thing, there was a huge up roar over it when they changed the law a few years ago but more and more victoria is becoming a police state, the system is not fair and as long as the government are making so much money from it then it never will be fair. mister perfect? me? i have lost 13 points and am currently on the 12 month 1 point probation and my points record is 3 pages long, im far from mister perfect, but you will never find me on here whinging that i just got done, i know i speed, i know i could get caught and i know if i do its my fault, other victorians know how bad it is here (as you have now learnt the hard way) and if they get done for speeding they should shut the f**k up and accept it or just dont speed, your choice.

The one that was for sale on here was bought off ebay and i bought it off here, never came with the remote when sold on ebay.

This is what the remote looks like:

Thius is what the remote looks like:

It is an ecu that hooks up to your ecu and displays on a screen like this nismo dash: This is what the remote looks like: This is what the ecu looks like: I have everything here apart from the remote, you cant change the screen without the remote, i thought it may have gone back to a standard screen (tacho and speedo) after it was dissconnected from power but it didnt, it is stuck on the lap time screen which is of no use to me.

I live in melbourne, down here they dont need signs and the vehicles i have seen them use include vans, triton's, magna's, camry's, rav4's and not to mention commodores and falcons, they are all different, the only thing they have in common is the have dark tinted windows and a nudge bar, they dont even use a flash box during the day any more, all they have is a box mounted to the nudge bar(i have also seen them mounted into the gap in the front bar so there is noting out the front) and the set up on the dash (which is hard to see due to the tinted windows), we also have speed camera's incorporated into our red light camera's so here in vic if you speed its not a matter of IF you get caught, it's a matter of WHEN you get caught, and if you are in a performance import with the usual atmo bov, big wheels, lowered and pod and get pulled over by the tmu then the speeding fine is the least of your problems. And with the amount of people who have a gps these days using the excuse that "my speedo is out and i didnt know" does not cut it, if you dont have one someone you know does and it only takes 5 minutes on the freeway to see how much it is out by.
-
I find it amazing how all of you know your doing the wrong thing when you get fined for speeding but your also the first to complain, camera's are not going any where (signed or otherwise) so get use to it, either dont speed or live with it, stop being a little bitch and having a whinge because you got caught doing something you know you should not have been doing.

That would be by taking advice from someone on a problem you have and using it to fix a problem, or if that advice has helped someone else fix there problem, i was also going to suggest listing the people you dont trust but i dont think the mods would like that so i just went with the people you do trust, of which there are a few that know lots and there are lots that know a little, in the end, as mentioned earlier, its up to you to sort through the ones that actually know what there talking about and the ones that think they do.

Just bought a nismo dash and ej1 ecu but it didnt come with a remote, need to either buy one or get someone to program a remote for me using there ej1 remote, so potentially you could make money for 5 minutes work, any help would be appreciated.

As i mentioned i have heard of one person being done for a detected 6 over, i guess it comes down to what the mobile guys want to set it at, after all the more people they get the bigger bonus they get from the government.
-
you might be ok, as far as i know on speed camera's you have to be detected (the detected speed on the fine not what they book you for) doing 8k's +, have only heard of one person getting done for a detected speed of 6 over. Also how accurate is your speedo, coupld possibly be reading higher than you were actually going and then you will be safe, also if a camera has not flashed a car in a certain period of time then it will flash a car no matter how fast its going, its like a calibration test.

Got the ej1 wired in today but the screen is stuck on the lap timer, surely someone can help me out.......

Maybe this is a chance to turn this thread into something use full, who's advice do you trust? Maybe even specify if its a certain area you trust there advice in, some are good with electrics, some are mechanical some are suspension and then you have the gods that know about every nut and bolt on a skyline. Im going to start the list off with paul33 (or maybe paulr33) for his compiling of the power fc tutorial not to mention all the other tech refference he has compiled.

Good call, you have just described 98% of the internet, but you still have much to learn grasshopper.
-
maybe also check the back of the ignition barrel its self, maybe they yanked so hard on the wires that one has broken off from there.
-
I did it with my 33, was fine till you hit 4000rpm then it would not rev any more and if you put your foot into it below 4k it would break down all the time, happened for about 5 mins parked it at a mates for about an hour and never had a problem since.
