DMM might help (digital multimetere) might be a fuel pump fuse/relay. maybe dissconnect a fuel line somewhere and run it into a baucket while you try and start the car?

centre road in clayton is another faulty one, been through there, not speeding and got flashed, never got a ticket. mate drives down there all the time and says he gets flashed even at like 40km/h

regarding what sydneykid said, -throttle response is nice for the street, toque is better. think of 4AGE vs LS1, i know what i'd rather drive every day. this is not taking into acount fuel consumption, and in the GENIII's case, oil consumption -toyota dont have a good box for the 2JZ, they used a getrag, so there is a very good box, who gives a f*ck if toyota didnt build it -if you dont have traction, you havent set it up right. i'm guessing theres are more supras out there running 7's than there is skylines (not on slicks either) not to mention there is no variable for the driveline, it will be rwd whatever motor goes in, i doubt this thing will be made into 4wd (prove me wrong.... please...) -very good point about the engine and how it ties in, not just what the engine itself is, in this case, i'm still sticking with the 2JZ

AFAIK the only difference between T78 and T88 is the exhaust side, so essentailly you'd just be making it into a T78 if you went baout it this way

2JZ no question. any arguments of supra vs skyline always come down to the skyline having 4wd, motor vs motor, the RB26 just cant stand up to the 2JZ, even skyline owners will admit that oh btw, how exactly do you put a GTR into a VY ute?

yeah but theres more room around/in/under a VL, and the VL also would have more genetically in common with a skyline than a 350Z, ie: bolting up the engine and bits of the driveline would be very easy

does that budget include the mask and maybe gloves? i'd spend up good on these two items in particual, i'd probly buy one of those automatic mask things. i've never used one but they are supposed to be VERY safe for your eyes, and makes sh*t alot easier. i was always fiddling with those normal masks and lifting em up, putting em down, lifting it up, putting down just to see my work (when i was learning to weld) also, might pay to do a TAFE course or something so a pro can show you how to weld, dunno if you would include that in your 1000 budget. as for what unit to buy, sorry mate, no idea
