  1. yeah VVTi is good for that reason, but there isnt alot of aftermarket support for it
  2. make sure, because it does happen, i've seen it, i've got it on DVD and it ahppened at about 14psi from memory, with a hi-flow, so similar to your setup
  3. i would first check for any possible leaks, check vaccum hoses just to be sure, next up would be the AFM. does the PFC have any sort of diagnostics?
  4. its worth how many million? and you didnt think they would let you have it any god damn colour you want? alot of them are two tone and even those solid ones could be red over red or black over black on paper, so technically they may be two tone? even though they are both the same tone lol
  5. i thought the rule was it had to be the 'prinviple family vehicle' or some such thing, or is that only is Vic?
  6. if you want a quick supra, you go for a 95-96, that way you can get big brakes, and NO VVTI. you can get a nice clean one for 25k, i've also seen 10 sec supras selling for under 30k, granted its not a common occurence, but they do come up. and why does everyone think the supra will automatically handle like sh*t? i think the skyline may handle better, but i wouldnt say its THAT far ahead of the supra, not at all, supras can be made to handle very well, without too much hassel
  7. yeah the other thing i forgot to ask was equipment, the only things i can see that you would need are a wideband and an accurate knock sensor? thats apart from ECU plus laptop/controller of course
  8. LOL shaolin and yeah for the those who mentioned it, your exactly right, lets compare a built up and stroked 3 litre RB to a stock 2JZ.... nice comparison. and even then i dont think the RB's any better there was a poll ages ago on skyline gtt vs supra, and it was pretty much even, supra might have even won, and this is a skyline forum.... the main point made was that the GTR would be better, but i dunno why that keeps coming up, the thread is about the GTT
  9. another supra vs. skyline thread, cant see this one lasting long but hey, as for the debate too bad buddy, supra is a better car and your right, response is better than stupid power numbers, and the supra still has it there too, with an extra 500cc and sequential turbos. skyline will handle better though, but iw ould definately have the supra
  10. not specifically for a skyline but any car in general, what is involved in the process of 'tuning'. from what i've seen/heard/read, the main things with tuning are getting the A:F ratio's right throughout the rev-range, and feeding in as much ignition timing as possible, till power drops off/detonation sets in and while avoiding detonation the whole way through the other stuff aswell. but what else is there? i know some ECU's need to set up idle control etc, but what makes power? and if anyone here is a tuner/does tuning, where did you learn, what was it on, how long you been doing, what have you tuned etc, all the good sh*t :laughing-smiley-014: dyno vs road tuning? cheers, Ben
  11. probly about $1200 to fix at a guess. you will damage the syncro more but shouldnt damage anything else if u keep driving it, although it may be possible of chucks of metal break off. just dont use second where you can. if you do get a new box though, or rebuild/fix this one, practice driving without the clutch before it gets done, can gain some good experience doing this, and its sorta like a way of driving without relying on syncros, but dont htink to deep into that without knowing how your gearbox works or it will just confuse you
  12. get it checked out by a pro, alot of japanese cars tend to miss services so make sure its been maintained properly
  13. cant find it any more, but anyone seen the A70 supra commercial with Hulk Hogan? monday tuesday wednesday... thursday.... friday saturday sunday, monday comes agian.... lol
  14. your kidding me right? how in f*cks name can you afford one of those? wanna be my friend? :laughing-smiley-014: current car: VL next car: soarer? but wont be for a while im broke as a joke
  15. R31 out of the question? very cheap to buy, plenty of grunt, and S13 parts (suspension/brakes) bolt straight on, so cheap and plentiful aftermarket support, aswell as VL turbo parts for massive power-ups but if u want the small lightweight thing, then definately keep it toyota as mentioned above ^
  16. i think hot4's is a bit of a metro thing, post your car up on here, doesnt matter if you think its good enough look at the thread called 'ultimate paddock basher'....
  17. is that amemiya-san in the second pic?
  18. :laughing-smiley-014: :laughing-smiley-014: :laughing-smiley-014:
  19. factory replacement parts off expensive/exoctic cars and/or newspaper-exaggeration-bullsh*t
  20. how much are the H3's? i thought they were around that price, fuel wouldnt be very appealing, and its probly not that well built, but it IS a Hummer (sort of)
  21. never checked mine, just had to write my licence number down on a sheet, so they might find out one day but i dont think you'll be turned down at the course itself. what one are you doing btw?
  22. i lol'd do it, but dont just start it up, drop a patch boucin off the limiter :laughing-smiley-014: i was in the back of a mates car when one did right beside me, window down, and about 1 metre from the exhaust tip ....oh and youtube it if/when you do semi-humerous reply
  23. seriously, consider a RB30 bottom end. you can get the motor built, then change it over later (less time off the road) and you can buy an RB30 cheap, and full forged rebuilds are cheap(ish) becuase everyone with a VL turbo has one. this owuld also do miracles for the larger turbo
  24. that first vid is Ueo in a practice session. look for vids of him on youtube if you want external views of his runs
