  1. I'd say that a mildly moded car that is tidy is better than a stock car that is shabby.
  2. If your idle is 1000 rpm with the tps disconnected then you need to adjust the idle down to 750 before checking the timing again as it may be slightly different. As for sounding like a wrx, generally if it sounds like that then a cylinder isn't firing, from either lack of fuel or spark. Did you disconnect anything to do with fuel or ignition when you did the timing belt?
  3. Have the resonator replaced with an oval muffler.
  4. Yeah they were telling rosberg to extend his gap over vettel from about 2 seconds up to 5 seconds.
  5. And the fact that whenever you're out in front you use less fuel than fighting with other cars for position and in the dirty air of the car in front. And benedict cumberbatch, an actor at his first gp race, still did a better job at the podium interviews than Alan Jones did at the Aussie gp
  6. I drove a mates mazda 3 mps (2006 model, cost him 17k) and it was fantastic to drive. Went like stink, handled well (bugger all torque steer), rode well, comfy seats, etc. If I was you I'd test drive some hot hatches before ruling then out
  7. They might fit, but for a few hundred dollars you could have your local exhaust shop make you up something that will probably sound better
  8. As adriano said, may just be a broken clutch fork pivot bolt. I had this happen in my 33. Labour wise to get it fixed should only cost a couple of hours, so just depends on the hourly rate of your mechanic. It's not a hard job to get the gearbox out of s skyline, so any mechanic with half a brain shouldn't have a problem sorting out the problem. You should be able to at least diagnose the problem by getting under the car with a torch.
  9. Reminds me of an old dust buster....
  10. Despite the usual hate on forums like this for local made stuff, the new stuff is actually very good for what it is. Certainly much better than what they are given credit for.
  11. Probably trying to avoid unwanted attention (every knucklehead trying to race them)
  12. If you ever went to the middle East then you'd laugh a whole lot then, as the commodore is sold there as a Chev, not a holden.
  13. It would also be worth figuring out why it's running so rich. You may have another problem that you aren't aware of.
  14. Nistune a 300zx ecu. Half the cost of a pfc.
  15. You can't see compression, etc since the ecu doesn't have anything to monitor it with. You can see things like timing, afm voltage, tps voltage, o2 sensor voltage, rpm, etc
  16. I used the disc that came with my garmin on the dash. Lasted years, and was hard to pull off when I put the car up for sale
  17. Got a screen shot of the error
  18. You could go see your local auto parts store. There may be a part number listed for your car, otherwise they should be able to take measurements and find something that matches from there
  19. I'm having issues with the app on Android. When I open the app it comes up with something about a hook error to do with tapatalk (which I don't have on my phone). I'm going to try and get a screenshot of the error. The app opens fine and runs fine except for a few small issues, such as not being able to edit a post, even if it's 5 seconds after I posted it. I have the button there and when I go into it I can alter the post. It just comes up with an error when I hit submit.
  20. Listening to the technical stuff during the broadcast, the rear braking system does seem like there is going to be some failures throughout the year. Fly by wire braking system mixed with the 2 ERS systems working in conjunction with the physical brakes means that there is a large margin of error possible
  21. The stock gauge takes its reading from a sensor that it is the engine bay. You will need that sensor for it to work. But yes, you should get an aftermarket boost gauge as the stock one is horribly inaccurate.
  22. How many litres are you calling a tank? My current car has a 50l tank and the needle is nearly on empty after 30l of fuel used.
  23. That depends a bit on the type of resonator. Some just have a pipe with holes in it (like a normal muffler), but a decent one will have the holes that are pulled down into the pipe to direct the sound up into the muffler packing more. They make a noticeable difference to volume. The missus sss pulsar just has 1 of those (about 18" long) and a straight through 2" oval muffler and it isn't that loud at all. When I first installed the system I just tried it with the rear muffler only and it was LOUD.
  24. Alan Jones: the man you turn to when you can't find anyone with a personality to do the interviews....
