  1. Is the diff actually locked, or does it just have a tight aftermarket diff? I've seen aftermarket 1.5 way diffs that feel like a locked diff in that they scrub the inside tyre when turning sharp corners. If it is an aftermarket diff then you could sell it for much more than what a stock diff would cost you. As for the stock diff, most are getting a bit worn these days. they will take a bit of punishment, but it will wear out eventually.
  2. While you may get gains from it, it won't be ideal as it isn't tuned for your car. So it may run lean or have too much timing and ping, damaging your engine.
  3. The self learn part of the ecu only makes very minor adjustments. Still worth trying a reset though
  4. Don't think they are temp lights, but low oil lights. Not aware of them having temp lights
  5. Anti-lag, etc has nothing to do with how a car performs because of the tune though. Setup 2 ecu with the exact same tune and they will perform pretty much the same. If you got massive performance gains from changing ecu then the tune wasn't the same. At any given point of the map there is only 1 ideal setting it should be at and it doesn't much matter what ecu is saying how much fuel to go in, or when to fire the spark plugs, as long as they say the right thing at the right time. sure some ecu's allow finer tuning than others, but not to the point of being massively different (unless you are at the limits of an ecu because of other factors such as it needing afms instead of a map sensor, etc). Sure you may have had an experience that says otherwise, but that doesn't change the physics behind it all. And the pfc isn't just an unlocked stock ecu. It only really has 1 map (2 if you want to get technical, but 1 is fuel, 1 is ignition). The stock ecu has many more (or at least a nistune does).
  6. Well the top pic is of a turbo timer. It says it on it.... Edit: oh wait, you mean the button? That's the height adjuster for the aerial. Changes it from full height to half height.
  7. On the topic of trolley jacks, a mate of mine has one that has a foot lever on it that you can use to get the pad up to the body, and lift it a bit, which is great if the jack is under the car a bit and you have bugger all movement with the handle. As for cool tools, I can't think of much that I have. At least ones that are car related and not bike related. Something I plan on purchasing in the near future though is a split collet bearing removal kit.
  8. A pic of what the writing says on the second item would make life much easier. But I'll guess that it's a turbo timer or something like that.
  9. Post your vin in the Nissan fast thread. Someone will be able to look up your car's details
  10. Fuel filter. You have old fuel in there. Fuel goes stale after a while and loses both it's octane rating as well as the amount of force it explodes with, resulting in both gunk building up in the fuel system and the car not running properly. It may take a few tanks of fuel for it to run 100% again
  11. An ecu is only as good as the person who tunes it. And if you were to put the same tune into a pfc as a link you won't see any difference.
  12. The funniest name on that list is Danica Patrick. Mid to rear of the pack driver, but a woman, so that's why the endorsements are the bulk of her income.
  13. Did the problem only start after the new pump, or was it there before? If it's popping at light throttle only then I doubt it will be pump related as it would get worse the further up the rev range. I'd put it down to either an intake leak somewhere, such as a vacuum hose or gasket. There is always the chance that it is related to the tps sensor or crank angle sensor or even knock sensors though. Unfortunately, it really is a bit of a case of keep trying stuff until something fixes it though. You could try cleaning the throttle body and see if that helps at all. I'm about to go through a similar battle with my Commodore. It has a misfire when just off idle (such as creeping along in slow traffic). I'm going to start by cleaning the throttle body, aac and intake (already done plugs at last service and cleaned afm)
  14. Somehow I doubt the towbar for a skyline would be rated high enough to tow anything that requires the car to go near the water. My 3.6m boat I have doesn't even need the hubs of the trailer to get wet, but then I built the trailer well. Dad's 4.5m boat doesn't get the car anywhere near the water either.
  15. I'm guessing it's blowing a lot of smoke? I'd start with a compression test. Also check the coolant to make sure the head gasket isn't shot. Then check the cooler piping. It may be the turbo that is gone
  16. Doesn't work in a 33 unless you can also shrink yourself.I'd try with the key and see what that does. Or even try the key and the lever at the same time
  17. Green (I think) r33 at the lights on Mary st in gympie at just after 6pm tonight. Plates ended in STI
  18. You don't know much about boat ramps or launching a boat do you? The car doesn't get wet. The wheels of the trailer will often go into the water a bit, but the car will still be a few meters from the water.
  19. It's easy to come up with ideas, whether they are available or not is a different question.
  20. I have a few mates going. One will have his yellow, twin turbo v8 s13 and his missus has a 180 with a rb25 in it.
  21. If the wastegate isn't opening then I'd find out if it is just fouling on the dump pipe, or whether it's actually dead. For the turbo you could either get your one rebuilt or buy a used one. There's probably someone selling one in the for sale section As for injectors, what size are you after? Just stock ones? What about ecu? Just stock? It's odd for an ecu to die, but if it is, and you just want a stock one, either try the for sale section of the forum or an import wreckers or even ebay. For coils, you could either get genuine ones from nissan, or yellow jackets or splitfires. Both of those are available online, probably even from traders advertising on the forum in the traders section. That goes for most of the things you are after actually.
  22. You could give a local sign/sticker place a call and see if you could buy a large piece of vinyl sticker.
  23. Why not post your questions in here? You'll get faster responses
  24. 60kw gain? It must've been running like an absolute slug before it went in, since that's about half the stock power output. My guess is today they dodged the dyno results somehow. But as long as it drives better then that's a bonus.
  25. Slightly off topic, Alonso has bought himself a cycling team http://www.sbs.com.au/cyclingcentral/news/51059/Alonso-set-to-acquire-Euskaltel-Euskadi-WorldTour-licence
