Just thought I'd add that Motorkhanas are a non speed classed events so the level of cams license needed is only a level 2 non speed l2ns which is generaly around half the price if you are keen to get into motorsport but don't have big bucks. Symmons plains and Latrobe are grate venues for these events and have plenty of room to play. Never done one down south.

I'd be keen. But far from a dyno queen.

the rb20 ecu will run fine on a modified to suit gtr loom as the main difference between the 2 is just doubling up the the afm signals. gtr power fc's are cheap as chips i wouldnt bother with a nistune board as they arent that cheep and a power fc is easier to retune if your going to play around with the car

Dan you use the original fuel pump feed to trigger a relay for each pump. This way both pumps behave like they should. They will prime with the key and also turn off with the engine. Wiring them direct ( not switched via the ecu) is vey dangerous under crash situation.

Mine and bens are similar size around the 1.5 - 2l mark. No point having a massive swirl pot for the fuel to slosh around in. And yes plumbing wise that's how we have done it. I mean you are free to consult your own expert but we both run 300kw cars with Bosch pumps and oem lift pumps and they seem to work. Also don't forget to wire the pumps in via a decent supply feed and relay. I also highly recommend wiring the supply via a re-setable circuit braker somewhere in arms reach of the driver. All circuit cars I do have these and as far as Tarmac rally cars if you happen to have an issue there isn't always a fuse handy. Just going off my personal experience

A few points regarding fuel systems. Fuel coolers are factory fitted to almost all late model turbo diesel cars due to the high fuel pressure/ friction heating. They are definatly a good option on a race car. I have seen a few examples where people can notice a drop in power after driving for a while and then apon closer inspectin the surge tank is very hot to touch. Duncan. Most fuel pumps are rated at a set pressure and voltage. If the lift pump is un regulated it should be able to flow more volume than if it was regulated so a lower volume pump should keep up to the pressure pump. That is the theory I have worked off. I only ever use standard skyline pumps to lift to a single 044. They seem to do the trick. Once again if the lift pump is able to flow a similar volume to the pressure pump than returning the fuel rail to the tank rather than the swirl pot won't be such a big drama. This is why Ben and I did his tank that way. When the hot fuel is returned it goes into a big heat sink. ( fuel tank ) rather than the swirl pot. He's done 2 Targas with no fuel heating or surging issues. I'm not saying this is how it should be do just that we do it this way and have had no ill effects. If it was a single lift pump goin to 2 pressure pumps in high hp applications than the return has to go to the swirl pot but for 300kw or under rally cars doesn't seem to be a problem. Re engines leaning out. The best method period is individual exhaust gas temp sensors. They are a bit of a pain and fairly expensive but they also make tuning easier. I've only ever had anything to do with the racepac version which is around 800$ for a 4 cylinder. If its tied into a racepac dash it will warn you of one cylinder is out of range compared to the others. Far better than fuel pressure unless that is set up with rpm parameters.

the worst part of all of this is i spent 2 hours underneath this degresing and high pressure washing the past 2 years of oil spills friday night. looks like i can do it all again.

Bad things come in 3s. Bens third come today. My first came today to so I've got 2 more to look forward to

It's going to need a retune regardless if he put the same engine in. The engine is dead from detonation = tune needs adjusting. Engine swaps and tunes are like new girlfriends just because your pecker is the same doesn't mean she will take it the same way. The inlet stud pattern is the same. So the r33 inlet plus plazman and injectors will swap strait over. Can't see any negatives. Not to sure they are lower compression either. Higher if anything. Looks like we could do a group buy on engines at the moment. Mine is not so healthy after today.

I'll third a neo motor. Simon Michaelmore was making around 400rwkw on a un opened noe engine. With the help of e84. It all went to shit once he pulled it apart thoe haha.

Sav man and I have been running power plus e85 for over 2 years in both of our cars and haven't had any problems with injectors pumps or regulators. Both cars sit for long stints and start no problems first go. I know for a fact that people I compete with have run cheaper e85 and shit multiple fuel pumps and seized injectors. It hasn't been a one off either. E85 is hydroscopic and absorbs moisture so if it isn't stored right the h2o level can rise. There is a percentage of h2o allowed by law in e85 during manufacture. Some cheaper fuels will add this percentage to the fuel as essentially it's free to them. This moisture in the fuel is what causes stuf to fail. Then you also have the 15% of normal petroleum that is added as. Different manufactures will uses different octane fuel for the 15%. Some use as little as 91 octane. Some like power plus use 98 octane. I don't sell the stuff so I have no need to rate the stuff but I think people waste a lot of time and money thinking the can find a better deal or product when there is proven results in the field. As for engine failure on e85 that will come down to tuner moreso than the fuel but that is where a flex fuel oxy sensor comes in to play Hope that helps.

Just wondering if anyone has a pair of bolt on wheel spacers they would lend me for one weekend. I'm after something around the 20- 30 mm. 5 stud. I know they are cheep to buy but I only need them for one use. In the llaunceston area. Thanks damo

Yea cams in rb20s are a waste of time. Cam gears will give gain if they are tuned. Most people don't bother. Injector dynamics 1000cc are cheep as chips brand new but there are plenty of people with gtst upgrading to big injectors for e85. So plenty of cheep 600cc up ones available in the for sale section.

For any type of bov tj? Ill have a look at home

N1 pump with aftermarket gear. Probably the cheapest/ reliable option.

I know the bloke and he still has the car. Not 100% sure if it's still for sale. Best bet will be to call him on the number provided

Well I've asked for the past 4 years so thought I may as well continue the tradition

Plans for power cruise? Only off street place to drag race now isn't it?
-
Would be worth checking fuel pressure. At idle and driving.

I don't know about Sydney workshops but it costs around 1100-1300 to have a rb25 box rebuilt in Tas. They generally sell for 1500 second hand down here. -

how was the trip to WA? first time driving over there? where did you finish up for the season? -
im keen to support it just thought it would be a bit more exciting looking than that. like the graphics on the sumo power gtr every one has copied them. the original nissan racing colours from the 80/90s people copy them. it just doesnt jump out of the crowd

pretty boring graphics...... obviously the kelly boys had a coloring in contest.
