    R35 Gt-r In Sydney!

The GTR model is R35, but it is no longer referred to as Skyline GTR, it's just GTR
  2. I thought I was going to need adaptor then I had a closer look and there are two aerial plugs lying around behind the headunit. Whether yours is the same though.... 100yen is nothing, when I first bought the car there was $20 (australian) behind the middle seat where it folds down. My mate found 5 yen in his skyline, I pity him.
  3. Yo, I took had a look at mine today, my head unit only has 1 output for aerial and amplifier, so mine goes up as soon as the headunit turns on regardless if I'm listening to CD or some other auxillary unit, just in case anyone was wondering why theirs doesn't wind down until they turn car off. The blue wire is the output from the headunit which I have spliced into the factory loom. The wire in question is circled in red in the photo, it's colour is black with a yellow stripe and grey bands. This wire follows through the car to the loom plug at the aerial in the boot, there you can see I've spliced another wire in there to turn my amplifier on too. Also, while I had my head unit out I decided it would be a good time to tackle the problem of my coin/cup tray not retracting. Some coins had fallen down behind it and were blocking it from closing properly. So I pulled it apart and opened it up and guess what I found.... [/pause for suspense] Woot, 100Yen
  4. If you do manage to lower it, you can unplug the loom to the motor in the boot so that it won't try to go up/down when the radio turns on.
  5. Yeah I think a few of the members on this board are running whiteline swaybars, not too sure about upgrading the front though unless you are looking at doing some circuit racing?
  6. Nothing special about factory turbo, it was a lower spec engine compared to the R32 RB20DET. I can understand paying a little extra for factory manual, but not that much. My car was pretty mint when I bought it for 5k, sure it had some scuffs on the bumper but what car doesn't have bumper scuffs.
  7. Thicker rear sway bar makes the IRS less independant hence more prone to oversteer, which is good if you intend to slide the car. Lowered springs and short stroke shocks are fine if they are matched properly to each other and the application. The benefit of coilovers is the ability to raise/lower the car, change the preload (depending on the coilover) and usually have adjustable camber tops/dampener settings. I'd say save up for some decent coilovers they would probably be comparable in price to a decent set of shocks/springs.
  8. I'll go pull my multimeter out and see what i can find
  9. Mine doesn't have a fridge in the glovebox, but I heard it was a factory option? Also heard that there was an electric rear view mirror (same idea as electric side mirrors, uses motor to adjust angle instead of your hand).
  10. FACTORY OPTION TV!!!?? My head 'splode! Picsorfail! I thought a refrigerated glovebox was pimping, but now I have more things to brag about '88 model JDM versus brand new ADM
  11. I wouldn't know about R33 being the same as R32. I'd say a decent chance they are. Might be better to ask this specific question in the skyline section.
  12. If I wanted a clean ceffy I'd buy an ex-taxi for a couple grand and spend a couple grand more fixing it up then pocket the other 10+grand.
  13. If it's factory manual then R32 crossmember. Factory autos need to use manual S13 crossmember when converted to manual.
  14. And while you have the RB20E out of the car you can do the oil pump pickup [/sarcasm]
  15. Not sure hey, I'd guess the only thing that may stop you from pulling the sump straight down would be the front sway bar, and possibly the engine crossmember. Jack it up and have a look tomorrow.
  16. I'd be inclined to pull the sump off and check the sump pickup (easy enough to do and fix). If the pickup looks good then I'd suggest replacing the oil pump.
  17. Peoples, trying to get a strut brace on the front of my Ceffy. I just bought this nissan one, was told it was suitable for cefiro. Here it is sitting in the boot of my applause (aka the drift daihatsu of destiny) Upon fitting, it appears to foul the engine in several spots. As you can see it isn't even seated properly on both sides yet. I could move/remove/replace the bov easy enough, and I'm sure I could make a bracket/use a different throttle cable, but even then it would probably still foul on the throttle body. I also tried turning it around the other way, there is more clearance for the throttle cable, I'd still have to move the BOV (not really a problem), but then it's going to foul on the brake fluid reservoir. So my question is, are there strut braces available specifically designed to fit cefiros with rb20s? I'm thinking that people who have RB20's in their S13s would also need a specific strut brace for this purpose. I am hearing that CA S13 strut braces fit A31? Thanks, Luke
  18. Yep, R32 brake master fits straight up, R33 has different positions for the brake lines. I'm using R32 brake booster because my car already had the brake booster removed, and using R33 calipers
  19. The sensor that sits in the cat is not an 02 Sensor, it is a temp sensor. All it does it trigger the warning light on the dash board when the cat starts to fall apart and overheat. Not really needed.
  20. R32/S13/A31 cradles all the same, use cefiro settings then. You'd want different settings if you were hitting the track. Did you remove the hicas and associated equipment and fit a lockbar?
  21. Well it would be similar to people putting vauxhal badges on their holden astras.
  22. well i have 17*9 + 20 and they sit out of the guards a fair bit. I'm running 235/45/17. an extra .5 inch would make it .25" on either side of the wheel (6.4mm) then the +18 offset would make it sit 2mm more outwards (compared to mine). So it would be a total of 8mm more than mine. Also, being 18" instead of 17" would make them closer to the arch in terms of diameter. Nothing a bit of guard pumpage and tyre stretch won't fix.
  23. Do japs pronounce nissan the way we do? or do they say it as "knee-sarn"
  24. Ah kay, don't worry too much about, just curious to see what it was all about. Would be cool to have something similar to the GTR Attessa system where you can enable/disable the drive to the front wheels.
