  1. Any break upgrades? Stock disc and pads don't cut it out on a warm track.
  2. Stefan...how you doing........got any pics.... does everything work on it..sat nav..tv..dvd..etc etc..?
  3. My ass..what a tax dodge..... I mean at $10K profit a car..they would have to make 100,000 cars before they have break even. Which equates to 2 years approx. production...especially at the rates they are going now. Off the topic I know.... On the topic ...........I would much rather they advertise..the home grown...family....country tourer that this car is.....large...able to do the job you bought it for...with great looks and styling.
  4. Sorry to hear all you have been waiting for so long. Is this group buy still on? If so Price on Gtr33...with hoses..delivered to 3061..thanks
  5. Spotted R33 Silver...SAU Sticker rear driver side ...... Heading South down Greenborough Road. 4.30PM Actually he was going to head North..but changed his mind. Nice set of deep dish Chrome edged wheels. Forgot his number plates I was in the 33GTR came alongside on the ring road.
  6. I like it...does all the rocks and kit come with it? PM Sent
  7. This topic was discussed not long ago..... Check your spark plugs to see if fuel has caused this to happen... 6 should have been nearly burn't out.....if this is the case then it has been caused by detonation. Some people suggest the best way was to increase the air flowing into 6 by cleaning up the plenum slightly. The best way was to do it on the computer...ie increase the fuel into this piston. But having said that this may not be your problem. Your fuel pressure could have also caused this..either by faulty fuel pump or regulator. Your fuel could have been bad.....some don't believe this at all...but you never know what some people put into the pumps. I would suggest you get your injectors flow tested just in case......6 may be faulty or flow less than the others. Here is some reading for you http://books.google.com.au/books?id=hiLYRe...QCFCU&hl=en
  8. I checked mine today...lol It is often overlooked until your 4 wheel drive light comes on.
  9. I had to stop watching and came back to read about it...I was expecting the guy with camera to die. Then after reading about the old man...I went back to view it....
  10. Is the v Spec spring and shocks the same as the standard GTR33? Also do you have the original rear muffler? I am interested in both.
  11. When the light is on...abs is not working Most likely causes. Sensor.............. ABS module........ Fuse.........
  12. Up for sale again...need some cash...going overseas.
  13. PM SENT.
  14. Sorry...I stand corrected.... So....$ for $...a 2001 Supra TT in the same condition as a 2001 GTR34 would fetch around the same price....Supra Approx $39K...GTR $45K So no real value for money idea...this is what I was pointing out. As far as comparing the two engines....this is just stupid. Most GTR owners want the displacement to be over 3000cc...thus the 26/30,25/30 conversion threads I wonder if we would ever have this topic discussed if a GTR came out with a 3.1L. If you really want to compare...a 2JZ should be compared with a 3L Turbo VL motor...these can be made quite reliable...at jack all costs. This topic is totally useless, I would prefer a Porsche 3.2 flat six TT than a Toyota hilux motor in my car.
  15. Supra's have there mechanical faults to when pushed over 500hp....chat to your mechanics..they will tell you. As far as better value...yes...if you are comparing apples with apples...but I am afraid you are not. A Supra should be compared to a Monaro. Lots oif power to compensate for the bad road and track handling abilities. Why are comparing a GTR34..built from 98 to 01 with a car built from 93 to 97.... If you are going to evaluate value for money...I would be looking at comparing it to a GTR33 Thus making your value for money concept a little more sane. A Supra had no room inside for a 6 foot bloke like myself... I should know I jumped into one before I bought the GTR. Plus I have two kids which easily fit and are comfortable in the back seats. You really need to compare a GTR with a 911...and not a Supra After all it was built to beat it on the track Don't get me wrong..I love the look of a Supra..it is ashame though..its large power and good looks don't make me comfortable nor keep me on the road safely. GTR rules on the drag strip..on the track...and..on the road.
  16. You may have cooked your spark plugs...get them out and have a look. Low fuel...hot burn...wasted spark plug. Alternatively check your fuel regulator and filter. Good luck.
  17. You will only know when you open it up...that's the only dis-advantage to after market cams. As far as what they do when installed....that is quite obvious....you will be very happy when they are dialed in with a tune.
  18. http://homepage.ntlworld.com/tbroom/Turbos.htm You will need to match all your pipping for a good responsive turbo...
  19. If it is a street driven car with street tyres he has no chance..... A correct launch with the power you have will get you low 11's in a quarter mile race. If he shows up with drag slicks and a roll cage...then you need to worry After all he may be able to deliver 1000 horses to the ground after lighting up his tyres. Finally if your talking about racing on a track he has no chance. hope I have answered your question.
  20. Supra...if they are both stock. I have a GTR and I bought some what stock.... After doing 3 main seals(realizing in the end it was the oil pump)...engine partly out 1 water leak behind the motor(dumb place to put a plastic hose)..remove and refit gear box. 3 clutches...first organic..did not last long with a few mods....second heavy duty... 3rd finally bitting the bullet with a Jim Berry 1 harmonic balancer Not to mention the mods I installed during this time.... GTR.....if they have both been modified. A GTR owner would have spent a bucket load on it compared to a Supra owner, not to mention all the things that let a GTR down have been replaced already. Fuel/Oil/Water pumps......Turbos...computer...clutch...afms..etc etc All the hard work has already been done for you Their should be two answers to this vote.
  21. What size is your intake? What size is your FMIC? What is the displacement of the finished motor?
  22. Nothing is a direct drop in..... More than likely you will need to spend more Your springs could need replacing.... http://www.nengun.com/tomei/valve-springs Your shims may be out after measuring...each of these cost $30+..I know I needed 21 Luckily some where close and we only changed 17 And if your doing it right....you will also need these... http://www.nengun.com/tomei/cam-bearing-cap-studs Good luck
  23. Did Brendan say he won Tattslotto? You have just spent $15K.......of his $2K...so now he is in the red 13K I suppose suspension, brake and wheel upgrades did not even come into your mind when you posted this. I mean with all that power, what's going to hold him to the ground let alone slow him down. Now he is just going to wish he never asked such a simple question in here There there is your flame...
  24. Its all about air when it comes to Skylines..... Intake, cooler, exhaust, boost and Turbo...... Get it right and you will have lots of fun Get it wrong and you will have a pig with lots of lag and lots of power up top where you just can't use it. Yes....you can install FMIC before Safc and boost controller...
  25. FMIC,Dump,Boost Controller,SAFC2,Tune..... Get a new clutch when it goes.
