Any1 Know Where To Get Lsd Shims For A 32 Gtr Diff?
swanny180 replied to femno's topic in Forced Induction Performance
0.80mm = 3842440f60 price = $10.12 0.85mm = 3842440f62 price = $14.67 0.90mm = 3842440f63 price = $9.97 1.01mm = 3842440f67 price = $9.79 1.05mm = 3842440f68 price = $14.40 1.10mm = 3842440f70 price = $6.37 1.20mm = 3842440f73 price = $6.37 1.30mm = 3842440f76 price = $10.89 1.40mm = 3842440f80 price = $6.37 1.49mm = 3842440f83 price = $6.37 Shim size = part number = cost (trade price) Straight out of the tutorial on diff shimming in the DIY section, found here. I bought two 1.2mm shims from McGrath Sutherland. $7.55 a piece, took them one day to get them in. On the reciept the part is called a 'washer - thrust'. -
Maybe try putting them up for sale for $100 and then drop them by $10 per day till someone buys them? Entertaining!!

Spotted this thread almost a week ago, have returned having gone to have a look, and ending up reading pretty well the whole site :| (Reading about the current and past cars/bikes is extensive to say the least...) Absolutely awesome. Honestly I still have a stiff I think. Can't believe the engineering nous used and general level of detail and effort involved... Im staggered. Pure awesome. Thanks so much for sharing

Just Jap Warehouse Robbery - Sydney 20/7/2008
swanny180 replied to Just Jap Racing's topic in New South Wales
Great to hear the good news so far. Really hope that the police manage to find the evo and rest of the stolen stock!! And I think the idea of thanking the police is a top idea. They've evidently done an exceptional job, I think a big thankyou from the community is the very least they deserve!! -
Yeah look, Ill be honest, I dont like the car much - not at all to have a dig at you, simply personal opinion. With chrome rims and a very loud colour like that one, you limit the market of who might be interested in the car quite a lot. You might well get extremely lucky and find someone with just the same taste as you who will love the car as it is - but unfortunately, chances are most prospective buyers either wont want a car that looks just like yours, or will want to do it themselves. Best bet is definitely to part it out and sell it closer to stock. Will make most likely a little more money, and it will actually sell quicker that way Id say. Good luck mate!!

Exciting but frustrating race. Hamilton's performance? It's remarkably surprising how quickly people have forgotten his little off track excursion... To me, that simply says that he was the luckier driver on the day than the drivers who got beached in the gravel. Hey, at the end of the day it was Hamilton who won, and credit is due to him without question, but I certainly wouldn't call it faultless. Mclaren made a gamble not going to full wets and it paid off in the end but it very nearly bit them in the arse. Webbers spin... omg. I was i disbelief. Still am. Let's not talk about it... *shakes head* As for Ferarri's strategy? And the laughable assumption that Kimi was solely or even mostly responsible for the poor tyre choice (keeping worn intermediates) simply because he is the driver? Funny, but no. The way I see it, Ferarri didn't have a good day, but it all rested on the flip of a coin in the end. If conditions kept drying, Kimi would have looked seriously promising, and whilst partly resting on a team's weather forecasting ability, it's also largely based on luck. And hey thats just racing, but you are quite simply pulling yourself a little too enthusiastically if you believe it was primarily Kimi's feedback that would have warranted keeping the worn inters. It was Ferarri strategists who would have taken on board his feedback, but then made a decision more predominantly based on what they believed the weather was going to do, as to what tyres he would have. Kimi probably would have the final say. And the funny thing is, if he *had* made the call to go for new inters or full wets, that would have been a rash decision even if it would have turned out to be the right one. How is a driver supposed to make a good, sound judgement as to what the weather is going to do? If his team says 'it'll clear up soon' and he demands wets anyway, he's not taking advice when he should be and it would be sheer luck on his behalf to go against what the team says he should do regarding the weather. Like I've said, credit to Hamilton where it's due, but you can't fail to acknowledge accordingly that he did have some luck on his side too. I most definitely wouldn't call it race of the season, but it was entertaining.

Cant Edit Posts
swanny180 replied to QWK32's topic in Site discussion - including Ideas/Feedback & Bugs
Ok, forgive me if this seems painfully obvious... But why has it not simply been changed so that you are allowed to edit your first post in a thread by adding to it, but not removing any original information? No record of what is sold/offered will be lost, and people can then add to their first post to say if items have been sold, if prices or pickup conditions have changed etc? I don't mean to offend but it *really* seems like the admins/mods have made a mountain out of a molehill with this one. And as has already been said - noone is using the report post function because nobody knows to do so!? Unless you've specifically read this thread, how on earth would that be the logical conclusion to draw? Further, do you really want the moderator team inundated with requests to fix spelling mistakes in wasteland posts? This really is a bit of a joke. This is an out and out bandaid solution. Its not an elegant, efficient or fair way to fix the problem. Im more than happy to help out any way I possibly can to come to a better working solution - I'm certainly not here just to complain. But something really needs to be done. And no, I honestly don't believe that waiting for the forum upgrade is a satisfactory solution. -

R33 Gtst Exhaust With 3.5" Inlet Turbo
swanny180 replied to Turbz RB-25's topic in Forced Induction Performance
The HKS super drager catback is all 3.5 inch on my car... Not sure if you could pick up only the muffler itself though? -
True, not a bad idea to throw a set of slightly tougher pistons in with stock rods. Would be good for a bit more power without costing much more than stock replacements would. Either way though will be watching thread with interest Good luck!!

32 Gtr Running Like A Wheel Barrow
swanny180 replied to den001's topic in Forced Induction Performance
Make sure your cat converter hasn't melted to pieces and become an exhaust restriction. Only takes a minute or two to pull it out and have a look, and wont be difficult to replace if it is your problem. -
Gtr Vs Gtst Huge Difference In Performance?
swanny180 replied to boostin_r33's topic in Forced Induction Performance
GTRs are just cheap ass cars for thrashing You might as well keep saving just a *little* bit longer and buy that half a million dollar F430 which looks better, is faster, is a Ferarri (not some ghey Nissan...), pulls more of teh babes etc... Buying a GTR is really just wasting your time... Lol. Pull your fingers out everyone. GTRs aren't bad cars stock, nor are they unbeatable. They are EXACTLY the same as GTSTs in that they really shine once you start to modify them. BOTH have a similar ability to punch above their weight division once you spend a little on them. -
Awesome idea!! Moarrr!!

Geez that was a massive accident... How horrible to leave a family behind too... RIP

An R35 For Less Than $80k Aud Landed
swanny180 replied to rtune's topic in VR Series - R35 GTR, Juke-R
Hahaha wouldn't buying a rear ended R35 just be a great idea... That'll be an easy fix, just head straight on up to your local Nissan dealer and grab a few new R35 panels that they obviously dont have... -
Question, why did you keep driving it after it blew? Unfortunately it may have turned into (depending on if/how much compressor wheel has been ingested) a far more expensive exercise than the simple $300 or $400 turbo replacement you already need to do... +1 for start praying!!

Skyline R33 Gts-t Hks Gt2835 Pro S Vs Sti
swanny180 replied to Turbz RB-25's topic in Forced Induction Performance
You dont need more power, youve already pointed that out yourself - STIs are doing times youd like to run with less power. So how do they do it? By putting it to the ground better than you. Your bilstein suspension might be decent suspension, but doesnt mean that its good for drag racing. Go get sticky tyres and set your suspension up for drag racing specifically, and theres no reason you cant run respectable times. Also - practice. How many times have you actually run down the quarter? Because I bet people running 11s with mildly worked STIs certainly arent first timers...
