  1. I'm glad I bought when I did, I didn't pay anywhere near that and still wouldn't knowing what they roughly were imported for, any dealer saying their current imported stock is that price due to the exchange rate is spouting b/s. Maybe $65K+ is understandable if they did bring one in after say october 2008 but most of them have held off bringing in any more due to the exchange rate, not cost effective for them although... I do miss manual, the auto in the v36 is probably one of the best I've seen, but it's not the same as a gear shifter in all aspects they are a fantastic car for the price with the latest tech, and acceptable power in stock form. makes the R series look and feel even more dated than they already are and are a big step forward from the v35, I tried out a v35 back when I opted to buy 350z instead, the v35 didn't feel or look right to me, whereas I think they got it right in the v36
  2. Yep I've got one. I bought mine from a dealer local to me in sydney. Unfortunately with the exchange rate being what it is many importers are holding off importing more of these for the time being. I'll sell you my one if you're interested
  3. It was a fairly big group that was owned by KS and NK not just NMG, word gets around as it does. But judging by whats happening here it does seem like there are individuals trolling the interwebs looking for any reason to give their 2c on this matter. they should make their own forum
  4. just a reminder I also have stock amber indicator housings for R34 front bar and side
  5. ^cheers^, coilpacks are now sold, everything else up for grabs still
  6. nah, Knowing Labor the work would probably be contracted out to a private company ala cross city tunnel. It's been said before in these types of discussions but In the states driver training is part of the high school curriculum with proper trained (hopefully) supervisors. I wonder why it hasn't taken off or at least trialled here The govt can keep adding all the bans and fines they want, it's still not going to stop braindead idiots operating heavy machinery. If they want to add bans/fines they should at least come full circle and actually try something to change driver attitudes, not just taxmoney funded tv ads.
  7. ooh yeah bring on the 370z, more parts for my car at the end of the day I never warmed to the look of the v35 The new Z looks a bit funny but in a good way, it's interesting to look at, plus it will share the same push button start as the v37, and hopefully it will come with the same touchscreen satnav setup because it means I might be able to get mine working properly. the v37 has AV input cables so you can watch videos through the AUX. I just have to find out how to stop it cutting out when you put the car in gear If the oz delivered 370z models have the hard drive aswell that will be good too, The previous owner in Japan recorded some music in the hard drive, some of the songs aren't bad either, wish I could understand it
  8. ^ only difference is that institutionalising criminal offenders takes a toll on the states' coffers (how much more to rehabilitate them, all the while with no firm guarantee they will not re-offend) where as introducing all these hoon laws can only add to the revenue. The Govt is an entreprenuer, they recognised that there was a substantial amount of morons on the road (both young and old) and knew they could cash in. "So what's your solution Yo-Yo!?" I hear you ask my fair SAU brothers? why bring in 'a Clockwork Orange' style education system in secondary school for the young kids so if they even think of doing a burnout they'll vomit all over their bobjane/ozzytyres chrome wheels with atrocious offset. Hell, if the govt. paid me $50 per head I'd strap them down myself to a chair, force their eyes open and play beethoven's symphony ad nauseum welcome to 2009; the year of the 25 yr age min. for going for your P's, with an overpaid govt. appointed supervisor riding shotgun everytime you hop behind the wheel who will draconianly ensure you do the full 55,000 hours of night driving required to sit your P's and Madonna trying even harder in vain to escape the fact that she's an old tart
  9. whoops didn't realise that was you heh don't worry, anyone that mistakes your plates for an alfa is an econobox poser, the real enthusiasts will know what the 'GT' means
  10. I'd better pop down and get some service parts for my car before they decide nmg is shutting too (cross fingers it doesn't) It would be good to see my mate in parts anyway, 'ol mate "morris"
  11. ahaha I made sure I got all my money owed to me as far as company money was concerned. I was quite close with dave myself I was talking about a small loan for the pub kind of money I was there for two years and you could tell it was all building up to something, needless to say I was hardly surprised when I heard the news and more than slightly relieved I resigned when I did
  12. thanks Be sure to post yours up when you get em
  13. Believe me I tried every variation I could both euro and non euro, variations on 'nismo' and personal nicknames. in the end it was either my plates now or LDF-33T (Lead feet) but I think the euro plate suited my car more, and they can only start with N "N-I554N" isn't compatible in euro format and if it was would cost $500 a year on top of rego to the rta had some random admirer tell me the plates also say "big brother" in japanese lol so I'm quite happy with em
  14. All the good plates were taken, so I settled for this real imaginative aye
  15. black i/c piping does wonders when popping the bonnet I've found pulled over twice for rbt and the officers never so much as raised an eyebrow at my black i/c pipes
  16. my condolences to the owner of the r34 Funny, if that crash had occured in opposite circumstances I'd imagine there would be an ironclad crackdown on imports for months to come. Not that imports aren't already targeted. Hope no-one was hurt
  17. on my r34, I got mine done in 2pak and it stood up well, no flaking on the fins and that was the thinnest coat got it done on the piping too. looked factory and both times I was pulled over in an RBT the officer never picked up on the i/c at all Temps were same after painting
  18. ^ on holidays, killing time. n u?
  19. lol says it's price dropped too say what now?
  20. why thanks I will DD's so everyone on best behaviour
  21. a bit off topic do you V35 boys have a function where the dash cluster will automatically change it's brightness according to ambient light? It does on my v36 and sometimes it can get annoying on a bright day going through tunnels or under bridges/overpasses no doubt it can be turned off but all menus in japanese hehehe the auto function works quite well in the v36, even at dusk it will only turn on until after a certain amount of light has dimmed
  22. most probably a conversion, did the dash cluster still have a row of PRND32 in the middle of the speedo and tacho? the buttons you saw should only be on auto versions as the 'snow' funtion is what I call 'throttle control' in a manual get a note of the japanese VIN and there's a thread on here where people can look up whether the car was originally an auto or manual failing that any Nissan parts dept can use their software to search that VIN and tell you the same thing
  23. Does one certain Mr D. Holmes still work there? He still owes me money hahaha I worked there for 2 years sorry to hear the news. I found out a week ago when serving a customer at work who happened to be the workshop manager at Castle hill toyota, made a comment about how I used to work at nmg and he told me the news
  24. The VDC off button merely turns down the sensitivity, it won't tun off completely The satnav and tv tuner are useless (for the time being) instructions and menu button are all in japanese so I can't turn off the sat nav voice guidance unless I can find someone who can read japanese, until then the sat nav actively searches for a gps signal and even tries to pin point me on the japanese maps, sometimes it shows me driving through a japanese national park, some times it shos me driving off into the pacific ocean all the while a lovely japanese girl's voice is telling me something in japanese politely. No idea what she's saying but I'm guessing it would read along the lines of "you're in the pacific ocean please make a 360 turn when it's safe"
