  1. Yup for sure but I thought we were talking about the "power rush" not the fastest car through the hills. Now you are bringing fwd vs rwd into it as well.
  2. I reckon its the rate of increase of torque = crazy rush and quite often wheelspin. Yes torque does give you the push in the back but if it is just slowly increasing then it doesnt feel like a rush. Remember someone posting about the LS7 Corvette ZR1 and saying it actually felt slower then his worked jap car with large turbo except when you looked at the speedo it would kill it. To me that is because the Corvette would have quite a flat torque curve whereas the jap car with large turbo would have no torque, no torque then a steep rise in torque.
  3. Sweet let me know when you have them ready to sell.
  4. Unreal job on the pipes, looks fantastic! You should make up some rb25 3" metal intake pipes with all the factory connections that bolts up to the factory airbox! Plenty of people like me will buy one.
  5. Hahaha yeah but you're a drifter For a street car just spinning your wheels at the wrong time can mean confiscation of your car for a month I think it is now.
  6. Fantastic result! I like the smoother build of torque and how flat the torque is once on boost all the way to redline. Great turbo.
  7. We are talking about the bellmouth JJR dump pipe, not the split type. My bellmouth JJR dump pipe did the same thing. It only lets a bit of water on to the passengers feet when the a/c is running.
  8. bahahahahahaha love it!! mmmmm thats the setup I want
  9. Did you see the dynosheet he posted up a few posts ago? Direct comparison between internal and external, MASSIVE difference to topend. Geeze the internal wastegate must have some serious issues that falls over so early and so sharply!
  10. What do you mean beserk? The car will be limited to the amount of air it can get throught the collapsed intake pipe. I used to have it and once it sucked shut the power line was just flat. On the road it just felt like a huge flat spot in power. Car still ran fine etc.
  11. Need more details, turbo, fuel, boost level, dyno sheet would also help. Quick answer is yes an rb30 with the same peak power as an rb25 (both done properly) will be a lot faster on the street as the area under the curve will be a lot more.
  12. Interesting though that the low boost run that makes 300rwkw also has the same drop off, does that mean that its not the turbo running out of puff but something else?
  13. The silicone ones I have seen the fittings are way off the standard locations, plus the turbo end is only 2.5". I fitted it in my R34 and the pod filter would not fit in the engine bay with the afm and pod bolted to it lol. I bought it from 888Autobahn or something from ebay. He gave me a refund but didnt really give me a reason.
  14. With fittings for the bov and pcv connections from the stock piping? I highly doubt it. Would love to see someone make them with the two connections (pcv and bov) and have it hook up to the factory airbox. I would buy that.
  15. the pics are on page 3, post #45. the flow path of the 3 cylinders that are redirected is not that bad. would be like 2 x 45 degree bends.
  16. Isnt that intake pipe just a bit of straight 3" pipe with 2x45 degree silicone bends cut to the right lengths? I would be a little bit worried about the silicone bends bending under cornering and acceleration load. Mine just uses a 90 degree metal bend but with fittings welded on so that the bov and pcv lines can be attached.
  17. you might be able to move it slightly with cams and/or adjustable cam gears but you cant escape the fact its a 2L engine and you have a turbo capable of flowing 250rwkw. Its the same thing on an RB25 that its very hard to make 300rwkw on 98 fuel with full boost much before 4000rpm. If you want more power between 2-4000rpm on an RB20 then either increase capacity of the engine or get a smaller turbo and accept less top end power.
  18. LOL I think I know what smells rondofj... That makes much more sense the fact the yellow line was an R34 turbo. Great result by the SS1! Goes to show you that the R34 turbo doesnt really suit the RB20 engine as it has the same response as the SS1 which makes 30-40rwkw more.
  19. Ok got the wheel stud changed tonight, filled up the jerry cans and then realised I have left my helmet at my parents house down near phillip island (2 hours opposite direction) DAMMIT!! Has anyone else got a spare helmet I could borrow for some cash? I got a largeish head so L or XL normally. Otherwise I will have to pull the pin dammit.
  20. Thanks for that. I put the rotor on that was enough resistance to be able to pull it through. I was talking to a mate afterwards, would have putting the car in gear solved the hub rotating?
  21. Hi Guys, I am halfway through replacing a snapped wheel stud. I have the new wheel stud in the hole and am trying to pull it through so it sits level with the other ones. I have put some spacers/nuts in between the wheel nut and the hub to help pull it through. However when I tighten the wheel nut the whole hub just rotates!?!?!?! What do I do??? Read heaps of threads and they all say just tighten the wheel nut to pull the stud through. But I cant get any force because the hub just rotates. I am trying to get ready for a track day tomorrow so any help asap much appreciated!!!
  22. Is it ok to just rock up or do you need to book? I have to replace a wheel stud, if I get it done tonight then I would like to come, if I dont then I wont.
  23. What about a T67 on an RB30??? That gives me a 3/4 chub just thinking about it
  24. What boost problems? It would have to be THE most common turbo on an RB25DET for an obvious reason. There are countless 3076s with internal wastegated 0.82 rears making 290-300rwkw. If you choose the GTX3076 they seem to respond well to higher boost levels above 20+psi. But geeze looking at NYTSKY's thats a lot more top end with the 35! I know it has a lot of other mods and a fresh engine etc but if your after a car to break traction and do naughty things then its quite a good option. But if your after an all round fast car with linear power/torque then GT30 it is.
  25. Love the car mate, great buy. Not sure about the new turbo choice though, think you will have to raise the rev limiter so you actually see some boost! haha hope it works out.
