  1. I'll speak with the people I have asking about it. Cheers, D
  2. Price drop 4K eh???? That mean your now looking for about $8000.00 now????????? mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, I think you should take the 2K offer because that's about what it's worth. The condition of the paint work makes it a BARE METAL RESPRAY and they are expensive, if it's going to be brought back to it's former self. 5K Plus for this, not to mention the replacement cost of the necessary panels & the lower front skirt which is only available ex Japan. I purchased my Paul Newman version coupe for $5000.00 and it is in very near perfect condition and many streets & blocks ahead of this car you're trying to sell. I also bought a genuine DR30 coupe in lots better condition than yours for $3400.00, so I still say your dreaming thinking of anything near the figure you expect. I also know of the 2 other Paul Newman cars in Oz & I could buy both of them for less than $8000.00 each and they need absolutely ZERO work to be done to them, as they are now in excellent condition and what's more "THEY ARE RARE". Don't listen to MAG86, he's just blowing wind up your ass, import or not, your car needs a LOT of TLC and other than the L20ET motor, it's just another R30 sedan which are a dime a dozen. You might be well advised to take any offer around $2000.00 before you're calling SIMS to come and take it away for free. Cheers, D
  3. I was originally asking $1300 or something to not even cover the purchase and paintwork. To be honest, i know it needs some work, but its still a good little car. Asking $700 neg. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! $700.00? that's about what I would pay for it. You got a deal at this price, just let me know how we do the dollars. Cheers, D
  4. Where you at in Sydney? Power steering pump & front struts probably only things good to me. Cheers, D
  5. Yep! Ditto on all counts. When I built my MX83 1UZ fe V8 I thought about 6 grand would have done it, but when it was finished ...... brakes, suspension, bits of rust & paint, correct wiring for everything to work, then radiators & fans for cooling etc etc etc and when I added it all together it was looking more like 11 or 12 grand. Then it's an ongoing maitenance deal, because it's a conversion. Cheers, D
  6. Registration should not be a problem as it originated in Vic, but I would assume, if proof of registration interstate was provided, it would nearly be just a matter of going through the motions to make it comply with the particular states parameters. Just try to deal with the guy & if you can cut a satisfactory deal, go for it, as at the end of the day, there is only one person that has to be happy and that is you! Parts really aren't so hard to find, just a tad more expensive these days due to age & importing from Japan. I can't understand why groups of guys/gals don't get together and form buying groups to get the bits from Japan they want and therefore combine the postage to save a little money. Cheers, D
  7. KN-R30 or KH-R30 ??????? If it's KN-R30 and the plates suggest an L28 original motor, would be telling me it's an ex South Africa vehicle, as they are the only R30 vehicles fitted with L28E engines. If it's the original vehicle Ravenoak speaks of, it's price is far too high as now it's not original & bastardised. Other than this I can't suggest much. Cheers, D
  8. WTF are you on about? The car advertised on Carsales.com.au in SA is exactly what you're saying it's not??????? Sorry John, Just rear all the description, seems to have all the goodies, so I would be trying to negotiate down about a grand plus if you can. Lots of stuffing around fixing it up if it can still use the HR31 front bar, to get it all level and looking right. The rear tells me it's earlier than an 1984 model & suggests pre '83, so that will have to be confirmed before you buy! You will need pics of the ID plates if he will supply them. The things I said earlier still stand, but it looks ok, just depends on how much you want to pay, knowing that there is many dollars left to spend. Cheers, D
  9. I'll try again! Maybe I gotta say it's a P. I. G. of a car, the ebay DR I'm talking of. He replied to my message and says I'm dreaming as he has had PLENTY of GOOD offers. mmmmmmmmmmmm????? Pity someone else couldn't inspect it for further clarification. Cheers, D
  10. This forum's political correctness is BULLSHIT!!!!!!! Why can't I say a car is a cop of a CAR, why does it automatically think it's referring to the police, why can't it just make oink oink noises and be a cop without referrence to our police force. Cheers, D
  11. Should read "It's a cop"!

  15. It's an 83 model or earlier, although it could carry 84 compliance in Oz. I have seen funnier things on imported cars, just depends on the connections in Japanese Auction House, but to have an 83 called an 84 is rare. All early DR's were standard front as far as I know, Iron Mask fronts were brought out in S2 84/5 vintages, but will have to check my sales brochures to confirm this for sure. It also has an off side rear exhaust outlet in the rear beaver, which is something I always thought to be for Oz only. The HR31 front bar looks a bit ordinary, the way it's been done. Lots of funny things on this car for me to spend $6000.00 on, but I gtuess it depends on how desperate one is to own a coupe. Cheers, D
  16. I have a stack of pics for it, about 10 or 12 plus a video of it running and it's a cop of a car! Says it's rego'd but no evidence of this at inspection. Has 1.5" spacers behind front wheels. For those in SA, go have a chat with DATSPORT, because they have worked on the car. Cheers, D EDIT: spookfix
  17. I can agree with you about a shame, as I was giving it some serious consideration, so I asked a mate to look it over. A further upgrade is after discussion with Ozdat, who has done a bit of work on the car. The report says .... Thrashed severely, done a number of drift trials, no compliance & import papers and this creates a problem, as it could mean it was imported as a competition car, which means it can NEVER be registered. If it was bound for a road registered vehicle, in a nut shell it's a PIG, as a track car it's a possibility. So! If I can't get it for about 2G's he will be keeping it for some other sucker. Cheers, D
  18. Well I have had this car looked at by a very experienced person and I can tell you IT AINT CHEAP! $2000.00 would be closer to the mark, as it has more problems than the DR I bought off D-limo in Qld, if you were wantin g to register it. If you buy it for $5500.00 expect to be paying at least double to get it to some sort of reasonable condition. The decision is yours, but it's not cheap. Cheers, D
  19. I got a surprise for you "DriftGTS" vintage stopped in the 1920's and anything after that will never be a vintage car, but there will always be collectables like this. Great buy Chris, if you can afford to hold on to it for the rest of your life it will be of grand value. Cheers, D
  20. Search Yahoo Auctions Japan, I'm sure you will find it there. D
  21. Bit like rockin horse manure now! Try PM ing Ravenoak, he has a gem for sale @ $15000.00 and GTR30 as well I think, but $15000.00 will be the go there too. Cheers, D
  22. This is the car guys, but it's not legit, but a FAUX version and as Lachlan only got $14500.00 for his, I'm not interested in a similar deal for $40,000.00, landed & complied & rego etc. url=http://page8.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/h134137044&thumb=http://f7.auctions.c.yimg.jp/img229.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/users/8/4/7/1/kk_r_freaks-thumb-125327062089181.jpg&title=L28%203L%2044 I'll wait my turn and get something genuine like I have already. Cheers, D
  23. Ya gunna need lots & lots of bottle tops for one of these. I much prefer the JZX90 shape to the 100 & later. Only problem for me it can't tow my Skylines where the V8 does it eazy. Cheers, D
  24. SS, I found this as well and it was a very hard decision which way I bent, as I really like this as well. The C110 has only 95k on the dial & the C210/211 has 125k, but both are really nice. Cheers, D
  25. JFYI, the GTR lookalike that went to Dubai was a coupe and a great looking car, except for the engine as it still had the L24 carby motor. The owner had spent quite a number of maticulous hours on his toy, but he was moving interstate and it had to go. Have you ever stopped to consider that the guys looking for these 240K's, might want a sedan, or are prepared to take a sedan as coupes are so thin on the ground. I found this on an Japanese auction the other night and have put a bid on it. Maybe it's more to your likeing. As for no body kits available, that's a crock of shit, if you know where to look and have the money to get them, they are readily available. D
