  1. Change the cam, get an a/mkt ECU, set of quality headers and a bigger exhaust and you will be looking at upwards to 140Kw at the fly and 100% P Plate legal. And have a great base to work with another day. There is a lot of good things to come from high compression turbo applications. Post P territory, just source everything from a VL turbo and you're away.
  2. Does there have to be a challenge? Why cant a thread, or section be started for modelling, just like there is a photography section in SAU forum already and models as they turn up completed can be shown off. When I was at school we had a modellers club and weekly competitions, which I entred none. Rushing modelling is a recipe for disaster in my opinion. So if I was to jump on the next challenge with one of my PJR DR's, I'm sure you would be happy knowing they are already on the way huh!
  3. Ummm, not knocking the idea, BUT emmissions & relevant ADR's are going to be your biggest headache, as our registering authorities are continually taking a tougher stand against the performance car fraternity. Do these carbies have emmissions capabilities, or are they like webers? Even Queensland are catching up to the rest of Australia, all be it very slowly. D
  4. 60 days? I already have some of the models and that just aint enough time for me with 2 cars to prep for September CSA Nationals. Sorry, not this time, but maybe after September. Great idea though, maybe we should have a modeller's section in SAU generally?
  5. Yeah! A bit similar, but for the model I saw had no tyres, just steel bead bands and a front guard was bent. God only knows how it was done, but it looked terrific. Beat the crap out of anything I have ever done. I'm in the process of building 1/24th #15 & #30 PJR DR30's and if I have enough decals I'll build a #30 in original livery.
  6. The best modelling achievment I have ever seen was of a 32 Ford Woody and I swear, if I din't see it as a model, it would look just like the real deal. Try building a plastic model to look like it's a bomb rusting away in a paddock somewhere, because that's what was achieved. Exceptional, to say the least.
  7. Yes it is now thank you. Ash reset the password & I had to change it so it works again, but seriously something was amiss because I have been in the wilderness since 27/28 March. Prank, check your PM's please. Factory 5 .............. I don't know that I want to know you anymore. The regulars on this forum will atest to the fact that you have been trying to source DR30 front struts so that you would have 100mm caliper mounts since you first appeared on the forum and knew they were just a bolt on interchangeable thing, yet when they were made available to you they were to expensive, or some other lame ass reason you couldn't use them. AND that's just one of an ever so increasing list of acquirements you continually seek. What you don't say is "you want everything for FREE" and that just don't cut it with me anymore, particularly when you're likely to just sell everything off after you get it. I should have just gas axed the thing and parted it out.
  8. I GOT AN ISSUE WITH TASMANIAN CARS? ............................ They can't stay on there own side of the road & their indicators DON'T work??? I don't know if it's tourists ummmm terrorists, driving hire cars, or Tasmanians driving their own cars, but they just don't know what the centre lines are??? On blind corners they come around on wrong side of road crossing double lines, often towing a caravan, boat, or trailer, even on straight roads they wander across double lines, it's insanity running amuk??? I followed a boat being towed behind an F100 ute today and it just stopped in the middle of the road & turned right without indicators??? Are indicators on these cars for decoration and having them work is optional, or is it that the driver's are just plain SH!T??? Cheers, D in sunny Hobart Tasmania PS ............................. I have a camera mounted to my windscreen so I have proof of what I say
  9. Launceston 24, 25, 26, 27 Mar and going to Longford Revival. D
  10. That front looks excellent on your car! Particularky in black.
  11. An error occurred, please try again later is best I can get out of it???
  12. Sedan & Coupe/Hardtop rear glass are DIFERENT! Craig would have a coupe/hardtop rear glass, but doubt if he would have a sedan with a wiper hole. You are aware that the sedan & coupe rear wiper assemblies are also diferent eh? Yahoo Japan would be your best alternative. In oz you would have more chance finding the proverbial needle in the haystack. Cheers, D .......... from sunny Hobart Tasmania
  13. Bullshit! You know more about this stuff than most on SAU ............................................ ummmm so much for clandestine huh? You just cant help yourself eh???
  14. If it's NON TURBO (normally aspirated) as we say, use an E88 every time & you will get a compression ration around 10.5:1 with flat top pistons.
  15. Catch cans to me are designed to take in the vapour coming from the rocker cover and or crank case and the theory of oil is heavier than air it should drop to the bottom of the can to accumulate, but it sounds like your vapour is under pressure, so I would be trying to find out why. Have you thought about a compression test? Test each cylinder, then re test after squirting some oil, or upper cylinder lubricant like redex into the bore. If it changes, you have ring issues, but if it doesn't, you might, or probably have valves not seating properly and therefore pressurising the rocker space. Prevention is always better than a cure! Cheers, D
  16. What about your head Drew? Either your valve guides are stuffed, or the valve stem oil seals are stuffed, or both. If it was me, I would be looking at the head before blaming the catch can. When you fitted the pistons did you dowse the piston & rings combo in a bucket of thick gluey oil before install like the old BP Coarse Plus? This would make breaking a ring on installation near impossible if you had a good quality ring compressor. But I think your problem is the head. Cheers, D
  17. Not exactly rare but! This might be the answer to a lot of your camber issues. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/toyota/suspension/auction-445479661.htm Can organise a go between if needed Cheers, D
  18. Anybody on this? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/180802682813?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 Nice but to much for me! D
  19. Thats great! Will be very interested to see how it stacks up against the rest. I know it's got a great set of door trims. D
  20. They look pretty good J, do you know if they are solid or hollow?
  21. The bottom gravel tray is probably not a problem, as I'm taking it off one of my cars, but front bumpers in good nick are hard to find. I'll look around down here, but how do you get them? D
  22. Also got this in my parts portfolio if your interested? Genuine HKS cooler and good for up to 450HP. Any particular reason you were enquiring about stud pitch? D
  23. How soon do you need it, because the purple DR's might be up for grabs soon? D
  24. Very good score this if ya keen enough! I got mine new for about $180.00 landed and this is just over $200.00 landed. Only 11+ hours to go, so be quick if your keen enough, as these don't turn up every day, but this is a four cylinder (FJ20et) set up with 9000 tacho. D
