  1. 2nd hand only as far as I know. I might have some brown ones laying around D
  2. J, just walk into any reputable parts store up there like Auto One, or Auto Pro, or maybe Repco and tell them you want the Taiwanese R30 copy lower control arm and it should cost you about $70.00 each, give or take. You could call Mekong Auto Spares 42 Canley Vale Rd, CANLEY VALE, NSW phone: (02) 97240691 And I'm sure they will help you out and post them to you if you cant get them locally, or worst case scenario, drop me a line and I'll buy them & ship them to you. Cheers, D
  3. The only front sump factory L28's were for South African market in R30's, but the common out of zeds are rear sump stock or have been modified.
  4. L26/28 are all rear sump & our Skylines are all front sump, so mods have to be done to the oil pick up to convert to front sump plus something has to be done for dip stick to check oil. Either drill the block or fabricate something up the side of the engine, but whichever, it is a modification. D
  5. The only motors that slot straight in is either an L20ET (JDM) or your L24E, anything else requires some modification. RB conversions are relatively easy and there is info on it here as a couple of guys have already done it. RS Tail lights are about $150/200 a pair and ebay.com.au or Yahoo Japan through an importer is just about the only way. Cheers & good luck with your new toy, D
  6. Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm "thanks mate, probs abit pricy 4 me tho. cheers" I got what you want but from this comment of yours I probably just send it to scrappy instead huh?
  7. Same thoughts here! I avoid them when I can, in Sydney they would have to be the dearest parts supplier and they WILL NOT DEAL.
  8. It just pulls out in my R30's. It's not a simple pull out due to friction off all the plugs & I think from memory it has a securing clip as well that needs to be pressed as it's pulled. At the end of each wire is a round pin about 2mm in diameter, so lots of holding force.
  9. $2 or 300.00 in Sydney when I got my DR30 units rebuilt, but they were/are 10" units, somewhat bigger than yours but labour costs would be similar I would assume. D
  10. You want the cheapest way or best way? Cheapest is 2nd hand but best way is get it re built, the old style metal master vac booster units can all be repaired. D
  11. AND let me say ................... No modification is cheap if done right the first time around. Bang for your buck ............ the VT Commodore front conversion is the best your going to get and you get a 2 spot caliper to boot, but the initial outlay can be a bit costly unless you have free access to a reasonable machine shop, or are prepared to pay to get the machining done. There is DR, but DR30 front struts have to be sourced and new discs are nearly impossible to find and DBA have ceased production. And you don't need to do anything, but change to good quality brake pads that are g'teed to at least 550 degrees. D
  12. Some people just don't listen eh! And others just don't understand??????????????????
  13. You need a drivers side door seal/weather strip ???????????????????
  14. And what they say?
  15. Same as Jenesis as I see it. There is a bid on it, but as it has to come up through the rear parcel shelf, I chose to do mine another way.
  16. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NISSAN-SKYLINE-R30-DR30-HR31-R31-JDM-REAR-STRUT-BRACE-/390345581201?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5ae268e291
  17. Did you take my part numbers to your Nissan dealer?
  18. I don't need 'em! I already got them so there
  19. How much for postage of Power Steering set up? It is the steering box & linkages you have huh? Cheers, D
  20. You guys have to be kidding yourself? These parts are near impossible to get and your saying "probs abit pricy 4 me" ??? How much is too much when it isn't procurable???? A wrecker if they had one would be $100.00 minimum, so I guess you want it for FREEEEEEEEEE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. This car had an article about it in Australian Classic Cars magazine and he spoke in the article about how we all questioned the mileage and suggested it not quite be what it appeared and how he just changed all the fluids and filters and drove it home up Forster/Tuncurry way and then proceeded to talk about how good it was. Nothing about how he was going to try making a killing out of it and start selling at $25000.00 and now $16000.00 and whatever after. In my opinion, he paid far to much money for it, from memory it closed on ebay for about $8000.00 and not reach reserve, so what he paid to secure it would be more than $8000.00 and now he wants to reap a great harvest from it. Cars are worth what people are prepared to pay for them and not a cent more and this car is no diferent. It is a niche market that wants these cars and offshore (Kuwait) is the only place that is paying the big bucks for them, but even there they are slowing, all due to unavailability of conversion parts, I'm lead to believe. As Mags says, "OVER IT" big time! Cheers, D
  22. Rather interesting read, am interested to see how far they take the concept. Up till now very little has been published on the old school JDM cars in Oz, so looking forward to #2 edition. D
  23. R31 have a diferent spline in the hub. N12 Exa has exactly same wheel as Ti R30 but also diferent hub spline. R30 has same as 180/200B, 240K, C210 etc if you want to use a Momo or similar a/mkt wheel & boss kit. For rego I would be glueing it up. Get a hypo syringe and inject super glue into it, that should satisfy the hunger for roadworthy inspection. Cheers, D
  24. Hi All, AS everyone knows I'm not unaccustomed to a bit of controversy. Ok there has been some talk in the locker rooms over the past week. Some of you might have been involved, some of you might have heard rumours, and some might just be in the dark… Either way, it looks as if we have agreed in principle that it’s about time we held an event to eclipse all those before it. What better than SAU Nationals right? It’s certainly long overdue, that much is certain The rough details are as follows: Where: Shepparton, Victoria - Incorporating in Winton Raceway When: 28/29/30th October Whats going to happen? Whats going to happen? - Trackday - Show’n’Shine - Burnout Comp - Some big signature workshop cars There will be trophies/classes for events and all that jazz. There will also be a metric tonne of prizes, giveaways and so on. Most people might need a day or two off work… I think it’ll be well worth it however If you are a SAU Club member (QLD/VIC/NSW/SA/WA) then you will get priority entry into the events, also heavily discounted entry and accommodation pricing. More information coming in Feb 2011. Please feel free to give ideas/thoughts as we are only just starting to plan. We will also be looking for businesses willing to sponsor the event. So if you are a business, want some naming rights or perhaps come along to promote/advertise – then please contact me (once the PM system is up and running) Thanks -Ash President SAU-Vic SAU Admin Well this is how it is ................................. ONE CLASS for our classics, everything pre 1986 is in a class of it's own? That's S54, C10, C110, C210/211 & R30 all in the mix together for one (1) prize ................................ Best pre 1986???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? On Saturday August 13th I sent this email to SAU Nationals; Is there a cost yet? What if I only want to do the show n shine and not track day?? Do I get the opportunity to just do the show day & how do I get access reservations to any merchandise/memorabilia when I wouldn't be arriving till Sunday morning for show??? Thanks, Dennis And I received this answer from his holyness Ash (R31Nismoid) Hi Dennis. No there is not. Show and shine will only be like $5 or something though, not expensive at all.Entry forms will be up in a couple of weeks - no one should miss out on the show'n'shine as there are plenty of spots You can come on the Sunday only, that won't be a problem. We will have a t-shirt etc on sale all weekend as well. On Monday August 15th I sent this email to SAU Nationals; Ummm Just had a look at the classes you are putting up? 20 years of S54, C10, C110, C210/211 & R30 together yet each for everything else??? I got jumped on in Adelaide 2010 when I suggested it was biased towards R31because they had R31, GTS/SVD & HR31 and this is going to be so much diferent??? Just biased away fron classics, so I guess this is the SAU MODERN DAY SKYLINE NATIONALS ?????????????? Maybe I wont bother And I received this in reply; Unfortunately we do not have unlimite funds for trophies given several sponsors have not come onboard as expected. As a result we have no choice but to cater for the majority in this instance. If you don't bother, then that's your choice. BUT HOLD ON This is going to be an event TO ECLIPSE ALL OTHER EVENTS BEFORE IT with a metric tonne of prizes and give aways and so on?????????? I have it on fairly good authority that none of the Gibson cars will be there and from the class list there is only best of in each class, so I'm just a bit curious where a metric tonne of prizes, give aways and so on are going to be? Ummm it's now 17th August and entry forms and costing wont be available for a couple more weeks will be the 31st August and that is just nine (9) weeks before the event and not one (1) entry will have been received. In that time everything has to be collated and set in motion, ummmmm cutting it a bit fine IMHO! So in October we are going to see, ummm not the SAU Skyline nationals, but in fact the SAU MODERN DAY SKYLINE NATIONALS because that will be the majority???? At least we classic owners now know where we fit into the SAU halls of fame eh??????? Is there anybody that thinks a CLASSIC SHOW inside the SAU Show would be a good idea? That would cater for our needs and represent all models >>>>>>>> PLEASE RAISE YOUR HAND NOW. Cheers, D
