I like the front guards & I'm going to try doing similar to the DR eventually, but the ground effects is my first priority -

The towel is nice, but I have the original R/S White blanket now obsolete at Jenesis and it was displayed in BensDR30 at Adelaide Nats Sept 2010 -
5 digit odometer would suggest to me it is more likely plus 200 or 300,000 on top of that?

Is this a Vic only show?

Yes Ash, I went quiet! In certain Skylines circles you have been described to me as "GOD with his head up his ass" and you can't be told anything about anything because you are always right, no matter what, even if your wrong your right? I'll run with your opening description for these Nationals??? which is yet to be seen because a Nationals for 1 year doesn't cut it. You described this as the BEST of the BEST, a show surpassing everything before it, SO DID IT SURPASS EVERYTHING BEFORE IT or was it just the budget show of the year because you couldn't get the dollars??? How many entries did you get Ash? I was involved in a Concourse De Elegance show in the late 70's (ummm were you even born then) and it was held at Rosehill Race Course and over 1000 vehicles ranging from the 1930's to the current day cars, and were put out on show in their very best sunday dress. Now Ash, how does one say anything to GOD who is always right, so I just didn't bother. All my support is going behind the CSA show in 2012 and as for promotion goes, I'm going to make sure everyone knows about it from Sydney to Canberra. Enjoy your day!

Wouldn't matter what sort of driving your doing unless the ONLY plans are up and down motorways and freeways 8kg front springs are to hard. As your in Vic, put in 8kg fronts in your DR and go for a quick spin down the great ocean road and see what happens. I can tell you now as I have done it in the V8 Toyotus 400GT, your DR will come back bent because to stop, your wheels first have to be on the ground. D

What Rear Springs Do You Have?
Ghostrider replied to steve200b's topic in Classic & Vintage (1950's-1980's)
Marc, do you know anything about Koni reds, or Koni anything for that matter? For a start they are fully adjustable, but internally only and have to be preset before assembly and then cannot be changed without dismantling the entire unit. Also, "do you know how many turns the valve has from off to stop"??? I bet you don't so your comments about taking away adaptability have no basis. As you're in Melbourne, and therefore it's a local call, ring Toperformance and have a chat to them about Koni's before shooting your mouth off on open forum, because if Steve calls them, they will tell him same as I have said here, so when your emailing my quotes around the town, make sure it's in the right context and include everything in that paragraph, instead of picking it to bits making it something it is not. Do you understand anything to do with physics??? Springs once activated build up inertia and without a dampener or controller will continue to bounce uncontrolably for ever. Do you know why I came back onto SAU, well do you ???????????????????????????? I was asked to, I was receiving 5+ emails a week about diferent things to do with R30 Skylines, I bet you don't get the same eh? Don't let the door slap you on the ass as you go! D -
Very interesting choice you made. I have been looking at digital for some time now and not knowing which way to go, as I want to diversify a bit, rather than just shoot film. I have been shooting film for quite a few years now and have quite a collection of some of the best SLR's money can buy. My first buy was a Mamiyaflex from Jocke Leate at Hurstville, but I quickly moved on to a Pentax Spotmatic II, then a Spotmatic F and then changed to Canon. My first Canon was a T50 bought in Fiji by relo's. (Never let your relo's buy for you overseas because you end up with something you didn't want) I asked for a T70, but they got me a great deal on the T50 and saved me money to boot ............ ummm for joy, for joy? I now have a collection ranging from FTb, AE-1, AT-1, AV-1, A-1, AL-1, AE-1 Program, T50, T70 & T90 plus numerous copious quantities of Canon FD & Tamron lenses to suit. Now for my digital endeavours: I have been looking for some time as I said and about 4 weeks ago I bought an Panasonic Lumix G-1 and 14-45mm lens & 45-200mm lens. I bought it on eBay for $500.00 the lot including an 8gb SD Memory card. When I got it I was amazed to find it was almost like new, not a mark on it and in perfect working order. I have since bought a longer 100-300mm lens to compliment the kit. I was so impressed with the G-1 that today I bought the upgrade, the newest release, the G-3. They might not be an DSLR in the true sence, but still an interchangeable lens digital camera with 16megapixel resolution and lightening fast auto focus. 14-45mm is 0.1sec, 45-200mm is 0.12 and 100-300 0.18 and features out the door. The issue I had not sticking with Canon was the consumer grade lenses suffer from zoom creep when shooting upwards, or downwards and are a tad slow focusing in AF mode and I cant justify the cost of the pro grade L series lens equivalents. I'll post up some pics when I get time to myself. As a foot note, I have a brand new in the box 55-250mm Canon Lens to suit the 500/550/600D if anyone is interested and at half price. If interested drop me a PM. Cheers, Dennis

What Rear Springs Do You Have?
Ghostrider replied to steve200b's topic in Classic & Vintage (1950's-1980's)
For a start Pedders coils are SH!T, Pedders coils are designed for the MASS market and nothing else. Ring Pedders and ask for the spring rates and they will tell you what you want to know which does not resemble the truth in ANY way. Pedders springs are for mister Joe average that wants a stiffer ride because he does a lot of towing or his ride height has dropped/sagged and needs it to be raised and doesn't care to hoots if it's right or wrong. I have tested them out with a set of springs off an N12 Pulsar, I quoted part numbers to the guy on the end of the phone and he asked me what spring rates I was looking for and he told me the rates I wanted were very similar to what the Pedders springs were, but he did not know I had them measured before I contacted him for the information and what he was telling me on the phone was all lies and that is for sure NO BULL????????????? King Springs will tell you the spring rates and the entire suspension can be calculated from there, and anything Japanese is by far to stiff for Australian Roads. As a general rule of thumb with Japanese springs is use the rears on the front and get new rears made to order. Remember the conditions in Japan, our race tracks would resemble their roads and their race tracks are like glass in comparison to ours and therefore the springs that come here from Japan are far to stiff. Factory suspension design is all about a comfortable ride and the vehicle carrying passengers and luggage in the boot and absolutely nothing about handling. The fact that a factory designed suspension might also handle fairly well is pure luck. As I said before springs simply hold the body up and that's about as much as they do. Springs on there own do SFA no matter who makes them. Take the shocks/dampers away and your car is going to bounce continually and never stop and that is a physical fact. Just because you work for Pedders doesn't say you know what your talking about I'm sorry to say. When you next have time, take a spring off the shelf and go get it measured, then ring Pedders as a normal person and not through the internal network, tell the guy on the phone you want a spring rate 50 or 60lb/in higher than what you have in your hand and he will tell you what you have in your hand is very close to what you want and that is a FACT! I personally would not use anything Pedders makes for the mass market arena. I use King springs only for convenience on my road cars, but my track car has custom made springs by ALSPRINGS at Liverpool on the coilovers and the rates are conducive with the front to rear weight balance of my DR. Suspension is a whole lot more than springs alone and the fix for this guy is in the dampers, not nothing to do with spring rates being to low, because the dampers control the springs, but I guess that's a bit outside the knowledge base huh? If he has adjusted the dampers correctly, the only other possibilities are that the dampers and or the springs have failed and should be returned if at all possible for replacement. I had an MR30 L24ET Hatch a few years back and I had 200lb/in rear springs (Jumbos) and red Koni's 1.50 turns from start and under hard acceleration it would sit down a bit for sure, but it never bottomed out, not once and in my MX83 V8 Cressida with King Low's & Koni's with 1.25 turns from start never bottomed out either, not even coming off the line at WSID @ 2200rpm on the way to a 14.709 run. Rob Ward in Adelaide has King Low's & Koni's, or Bilstein in his 205rwkw MR30 L26ET sedan and his car doesn't bottom out under hard acceleration either. D -
What Rear Springs Do You Have?
Ghostrider replied to steve200b's topic in Classic & Vintage (1950's-1980's)
Did you fully depress the piston to engage the valve before turning & did you take it anti clockwise to stop beforehand? -
8kg fronts are TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HARD for Australian roads! What are you guys all thinking ....................................... ??? Springs simply hold the body up and as usual your looking at the wrong thing. Factory standard fronts are 1.93kg & rears 2.23kg. Tell me just one thing ................. WHAT are you going to do when your blazing into a corner at 70 or 80kph and the approach is a bit rough or rippley??? D

What adjustment did you put on the Konis when you installed them? Ummmm ............ I guess we are talking about Koni RED/ORANGE eh??? -
No pics as yet on the link? Youtube BMW M3 hot laps though?? Wonder if that be better than steering the Benson & Hedges M3 around Oran Park???????

There was NO class recognition for anything pre R31, they were all grouped together in one class so why would anybody bother. This was promoted as "The biggest and best ever Skyline Show" surpassing everything beforehand and leaving them in it's wake. Ash had over $5000.00 in prizes to be won, but had class discrimination over everything old school & classic to this forum? My guess is his mates didn't have any of these cars and his ego was better served by the more modern, along with Silvias, Stagea's and other non Skyline varieties that were catered for??? D
-
Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I'm sorry, but WHY?????????????????????????????? would you be asking a question about your R32 in a section that caters for everything up to and including R31 only ????????????????????????????????????? I'm astonished that you obviously just cannot read!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Help Sourcing Non Genuine Front Lca

What a croc of shit, Poly bushes are a pain in the ass unless you like pulling your suspension apart every couple of months. J just stay with the lca's as they come. D
