Help In Upgrading Dumps And Turbos
infamous_t replied to Aussie_Delivered_R32_GTR's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
My thoughts based on my cars previous setup. Open style dumps (Tomei, Mines, R34 etc) Matching front pipes, preferably equal length Adjustable cam gears (I saw very good low/mid end gains getting this right) -7s if you're happy with the setup you have but just want to push the a little bit harder. -9s if you want to keep similar response to stock, but would like to seem more power (~50hp) over the -7s On -5s it's very worthwhile opening up the exhaust manifolds while turbos are off. I'd be interested if people think it's worthwhile on -7s/-9s also, or whether it is seen to negatively impact these smaller turbos? -

Dyno Chart Full Of Fail - Please Help

Do you have a dyno sheet to share? The one in your build shows less power @ more boost compared to djr81s 2nd dyno sheet. -
Dyno Chart Full Of Fail - Please Help
infamous_t replied to djr81's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
(New) result seems fine to me, he's not on e85 and it's a conservative boost level with cams geared at response over power. My results are similar boost but on 260/260 + e85/hub dyno and your 70hp ahead at 4000rpm, but only 40hp behind at peak power. Throw some more boost and some jungle juice if your chasing more outright power IMO -

Where Could I Get A Nismo R32 Intercooler?
infamous_t replied to GSX-R35's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
The earlier nismo intercooler is identical to an 70mm ARC intercooler, the later one which came out after R34s were released is a 100mm item The later version is possibly also ARC, but if so it comes in a polished version not normally available from ARC. I have the early nismo one on my 32. If you find a R34 intercooler, it will fit, but it just has an air temp bung to use or plug on the drivers side of the FMIC. -

Local pickup only, unless you can organise a courier to pickup as is.I suspect it would work out cheaper overall just to pickup something local to you. -

R34 Gtr Garrett -5 Turbo Lag, Need Advise
infamous_t replied to baicai's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
The most important aspects that the greddy intake kit addresses are the cold side merge before the FMIC, and the tendancy of stock intake (black rubber) to partially collapse and restrict intake. The intake path is also much smoother for airflow. Strangely the fixing the merge reduces turbo shuffle but on AFM setups the smoother intake of the hardipe kit has been know to increase it! If you have a 33 or 34 I would personally recommend keeping the stock airbox, and either modding the stock twin turbo pipe or lashing out on the nismo item. Intake to airbox can be firmed up be KTS hardpipe kit or one of the reinforced silicon pipes floating around. For me on my 32, I scored the greddy kit cheap second hand and because I was changing to MAP I could ditch the poxy foam filters for some (larger) quality K&N items. For the average punter I don't think there's any noticable power/response changes, but intake noise is much more noticeable as is OEM recirc/bov... this is a pro/con depending on your preference. -

Drove out to Racewars at 5am Saturday morning, raced all weekend and then drove home... stoked that the car was solid all weekend! Extremely impressed with the ProjectMu HC+, always felt entirely comfortable in the car pulling with plenty to spare even on the 1000m. More so the event was incredibly good fun, my only disappointment was not getting myself there on friday for the motokhana! Few pics from the weekend. Only minor incident for the weekend was an indicator popping out and shredding the indicator loom... indicator was found & had survived with the advantage of a CAI for the rest of the sunday session! haha Was quite happy with my standing in the 1000m especially when I compared times, certainly had a ball out there launching the car which probably helped -
I've recently gone from 34R stockers (-7 size for your ref) to -5s + poncam B's and don't consider it laggy at all, but I explicitly requested that when setting up the cams. Has great mid + top end, bottom end is much the same as the 34 turbos, e85 makes a big difference in the low/mid end torque. It's a bog standard 160K old motor with the only internal change being the cams.

Doing some last minute prep for Racewars, ProjectMu HC+ pads dropped in, they pull up bloody well! Gave the calipers a cleanup, happy with the result Also dropped in the new steering wheel, feels nice and in combination with the recent suspension changes steering feels A1! The steering wheel did come with a piece that went around the horn, but I think it looks more era appropriate without it.
