  1. Yeah cool, you see where im coming from then. Yeah the thread was pulled by me, as I was attracting the wrong crowd. I followed some advice from a friend and am selling it through a car yard on consignment. This way ill get what i want for it and wont have to do any of the work, as im time poor at the moment. In the for sale thread i said it has potential to become a 10 second car, it needs the head work done and some cams and then she would be good for 360-370rwkw and we would be into 10 country im sure... So if one was to spend about 3 more grand just on the head and re tune im sure it would produce the goods. I means its ready for a 11 now, just need rubber. Willowbank dont save timeslips from tnt's. I already asked them, a few months back. Im sure i told you about it at a dinner at the Glen one night. They said something like, "They are printed once and after the night is finished the timeslips are dumped from the computer."
  2. I think its all about "Noise polution" atm Harry... The golf club is against the opening of the track, as far as im aware they are holding up the process trying to get assurance that they wont loose income...
  3. I guess I can relate also Andy, as my car has not moved in about 8 weeks, for nothing less than a drive around the block... But its the most enjoyable drive around the block one could have Yeah Well I guess every dream has its price... Mine comes true on the 18th of September when I get to met Jenifer Hawkins... Yeah great point, workshops with no show car (tax deduction) are questionable... I like that Mark from Godzilla runs a 9 second GTR, tells me he knows a thing or two about drag racing... The boys at Mercury have produced and owner a bunch of 250+ rwkw track spec 200Sx's, tell me they know their SR20's... So on and so forth...
  4. I should refrase... All of the cheap knock off bonnets are straight fibreglass. Which cant get ADR approval due to their impact qualities. (ie. snap and cut rather than bend and crumble) But some bonnets (ie brand name, costlly $3000+) use a kevlar/carbon compound with the fibreglass to give it a dull edge if the bonnet were to snap (ie. car accident). Noy works for a carbon shop, he would be able to explain the in's and out's of fibreglass legality better than I... But as I understand it, to make them cheap the company's dont go throught the ADR approval process as is rather expensive and would make the bonnets quite costlly... Obviouslly then they would be in direct competition with the big boys like "blitz" or "Veliside"... Some of the bonnets could be fine and pass the test with flying colours, but its the cost to do the tests that most companys dont under go. Hence why few imported body kits are legal...
  5. Nah, not into that sorta thing. More than happy to explain if someone asks me a question as you and Adam have before over a beer. I guess ive never finished my project hence why ive never published a full list of mods in one place. I mean I have published when ive done a few bits and pieces here and there but never compiled a full list like you have done on page 1. As for 10 second passes ive never claimed to run a 10, all ive said is my trap speeds are in 10 second country. Ive never had a chance to run the quarter on anything other than shitty second hand rubber at street pressure. If I rolled the guards and put the MT's on I reckon id be a shoe in for an 11 no worries without touching anything else. But its all about how you do in the first 60 foot that matters, everything from there is just hanging on. I have no doubt you would run an 11 out of the box, in time/practice (you never know the same night as your first run) you migt hit a high 10. All depends on your tyre/suspension package and if you can hook up or not without loosing too much time. Well you dont need me to explain, you know it. Cheers Col PS. I found one time slip thats got a 121mph pass on it, its the one I used to list my official best run at willowbank in the timeslip thread in events.
  6. Yeah I know that feeling, we all burn copious amounts of money on cars but in turn it makes us happy As im sure you are atm, right?
  7. Hey its only money and dreams are priceless... Go for it...
  8. The QLD police are getting quite creative with their choice of vechicles these days, the safe bet it to obey the law and take it to the track and you cant go wrong...
  9. Keep the tread on topic, all posts not relating to the topic will be deleted as per usuall rules. SAU does not need a bunch of clowns, there are plenty at the EKKA. Noel please continue, your thread is clean!!!
  10. I guess you need to look at why their not ADR approved, then understand why a stock bonnet is th ebest thing to use. In short no fibre glass bonnet will be approved for road use in Australia, basiclly cause they dont crumple in n accident, then slice into human flesh like a knife on impact. The have even gone through glass and hit the driver of the car in past cases. Not pretty im sure you understand why their not ADR approved... In short get a stock bonnet asap.
  11. The QLD classifieds have been under fire for some time now, Ive begged to keep them as I use them all the time and think their usefull... But it has been brought to admins attention in the past... I think the only reason the QLD one is current is I put my hand up to take care of it... That and I begged allot...
  12. Yeah I know that feeling mate...
  13. Good Luck Noel Im sure you'll tell us how you went tomorrow night...
  14. horrible Gateway is always 10kph after virginia til you get to the brodge it self.... or Go via the city and its 20kph from carseldine all the way to the story bridge... either way it takes about 75 minutes to get there if i leave home at 7am... So these days i sleep in and leave home at 9am and im there in 25 minutes
  15. very ghey
  16. I reguarlly cruise on their golf course (in a cart) as I am a member there... I even signed the partition in the club house to allow the track to re-open and that I would remain a member with the track open. But I believe that there was only some 4-5% of members who said yes to the opening of the track, the rest declined their support. So until they agree/die there is little chance...
  17. Let me know if you find someone to sign off on your J... I cant find anyone who will sign off on my car even with all the mod plates in place...
  18. Sif a cruise is going to save lakeside... Until you get the golf course to sign paperwork to allow users to make noise that track will remain closed... What sorta golf club will sign off on a deal that will reduce their own members cause they cant enjoy a quiet game of golf??? Ill tell ya, NONE...
  19. Hey Josh, email the cost of them plates... PS I love you... PS. I have to go to work now...
  20. ROFL, i could see baileys on weetbix to be honest... Ill have to try it someday... I reckon it would be a great combo...
  21. Im in Hervey Bay every 4 weeks for a night due to work comitments, I spent a solid 30 minutes last trip talking to a r33 4 door owner out side wolworths in the carpark... But yeah I spot a few skyline up there, have generally posted them in the spotted thread with no responce, so I stopped. I would not admit that to anyone...
