Bendix Ultimates Suck
MBS206 replied to 75coupe's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I went to run Ultimates on a set of slotted rotors and got told off by my brake machinist as that pad isn't properly designed to run with slotted rotors. A thought perhaps... -

Dragsters run superchargers, no BOV. WRC I think someone stated DON'T run BOV at all. Australian rally, some do, some don't. The new porsche GT3 I think it is, race car, doesn't run a BOV at all. Also, your BOV is still illegal, so have fun when you get reamed for it. As it's not always as easy as getting a blueslip! -

And everything you just criticised we criticise too if it's not legal. Purely, and simply, atmo BOVs are illegal, and 9/10 they just fu'ck up our atmosphere, and make this world a less pleasant place to live in. Seriously, atmo BOV are a PITA and annoying as hell. -
At 10PSi on a 2.5Litre, compared to a 2L, you're putting through more air. Which means turbo spins faster, which means more heat in the turbo.

Alot of police = dumb with regards to certain mods. They hear the dose, beleive it as atmo BOV. Pop hood. Scratch head. "Where is your BOV son?" -

Dose rocks... It's even better when you get pulled over and they go to do you for an atmo BOV when you have no BOV on the car... -
Hope for your sakes there's NO sign posts for speed limit as, the legislation, hasn't changed. Part 3 of the Australian Road Rules as foundo n www.legislation.nsw.gov.au Australian Road Rules 25 Speed-limit elsewhere (1) If a speed-limit sign does not apply to a length of road and the length of road is not in a speed-limited area, school zone or shared zone, the speed-limit applying to a driver for the length of road is the default speed-limit. Note. Length of road is defined in the dictionary, school zone is defined in rule 23, shared zone is defined in rule 24, and speed-limited area is defined in rule 22. (2) The default speed-limit applying to a driver for a length of road in a built-up area is 60 kilometres per hour. Note. Built-up area is defined in the dictionary. (3) The default speed-limit applying to a driver for any other length of road is: (a) for a driver driving a bus with a GVM over 5 tonnes, or another vehicle with a GVM over 12 tonnes—100 kilometres per hour, or (b) for any other driver—100 kilometres per hour or as otherwise provided under another law of this jurisdiction. Note 1. Bus and GVM are defined in the dictionary, and vehicle is defined in rule 15. Note 2. Five tonnes is specified for the definition of heavy omnibus in the Australian Design Rules issued under the Motor Vehicle Standards Act 1989 (Cth). Note 3. If the vehicle is an oversize or overmass vehicle, the vehicle may be restricted to a lower speed-limit under another law of this jurisdiction.

AFAIK in NSW, there is NO legislation, stating the 3 signs have to be there. It's a "gentlemans" thing and just there to "deter" you from speeding and advise you of the limit. I'll jump on the legislation site and try dig up the laws around speed cameras.

Err... Wrong! Proven that boiling water DOES NOT freeze quicker then warm or cold water. Was on one of those myth bustering shows (Could have been "Cool Science" or something) The boiling water has a quicker drop in temperature, because of the larger difference, but the warm/cold water still freezes quicker.

I'm with the Mafia I know a heap of people in the import car scene, and 90% of them HATE the sound of an atmo BOV. They love a well built car, but to them, and most people on here, the atmo BOV just screams LOOK AT ME, I'M GAY!!! Also, every single friend of mine that is NOT into cars, can not stand the sound of the atmo BOV, they're used to exhaust noises in the local area whilst they're trying to sleep and all, but there biggest piss off is ass hats with Atmo BOV being noisy f**king idiots and going "Psht" on every gear change. Oh, and slowest setup for spooling back up on gear changes, is actually no BOV. Why? You keep a high pressure in the intake pipes, the actuator beleives it's still making good boost, holds the waste gate open, what happens though, a whole heap less air is coming out of the motor, and the tiny bit that gets sent into the turbo is NOT enough to keep it spooled, and it slows. Then, you can look at the plumb back setup, on an AFM tune. It spools up second slowest. Although the waste gate closes, it still spools up slowest, why? Read on to the fastest and find out. The atmo venting on an AFM tuned car. This will spool the quickest, only by a fraction of a second. Why? Well the waste gate has closed, the AFM has seen a whole heap air still entering the motor, it dumps in a shit load of fuel, which hey, ignites in the exhaust, which spools the turbo up. The quickest spooling way, is THE quickest way to kill your cat, and also to kill ceramic turbos. A plumb back and atmo BOV on a MAP tuned car will not, and should not have a difference in spool times, as the amount of air entering the motor is measured at the motor, not at the intake pipe. -
So what actually happens when you hit 6PSi? And is this just off of the stock guage it's hitting "7"? Put an aftermarket boost guage on. You could be maxing the stock boost guage out (The sender unit)

Because it's still defective? -
After thought Pull your spark plugs out, and give the key a quick hit. This will tell me straight away if it's a compression issue.

Sounds like a battery. Are you able to attempt to clutch it? Also, you don't happen to have injectors that dribble do you?

BAM: I know of guys who run return lines from down UNDER the front bar on the drivers side back to the intake pipe. As for back fires. Seriously. Think, what is a backfire. It's fuel, igniting as it goes out of the engine. What does ignited fuel create? Heat. What do ceramic turbos hate? Heat... -
Do you live in Wollongong? If you're talking about the camera in Fairy Meadow, it's accurate

plumbback Nice and quiet. Venting was invented for race cars. The view was, they didn't want air entering the engine that has to go through the turbo 2 or 3 times, so they'd dump it to atmosphere. As for back fires. If you have ceramic turbines, yes, it can be quite bad for the turbo. -
I'm on boost in the manual by around 15-20km/h (not full boost, but making boost) The auto you can have boosting easily on the spot if you know how

At the moment, I don't realy want to seperate them I have the two wiring looms setup together for both the screen and DVD player, and don't feel like seperating them out. If someone wants to buy the whole lot, but only wants say the DVD player, work it out with the other guys that they buy the screen of you.
