  1. Break away brakes as mentioned earlier, have a 12V battery, that when a switch is triggered (Via a cable connected to the towing vehicle) it locks the trailer brakes on as hard as it can. I have only EVER seen them as an electric setup, I do not believe that there is an electro-hydraulic version. If you upgrade the brake system to break aways, you still need to have the axles, rims and tyres rated to the higher limit. This is done by checking manufacturer specs on the tyres and rims, and than the axles are weight loaded depending on their size. You then also need to do upgrades to things like chain linkages etc. Electric brakes, while more expensive, are leaps and bounds ahead of the normal cruddy mechanical brake system.
  2. I like the fact that they're claiming it has more road going parts than the other two... Yet, they're changing the floor pan, and a completely different engine to what you can really buy at the dealership... Also, Duncan, are they making a 4 door Skyline at the moment?
  3. You guys should try posting in the Feedback and Bugs section... Than the people who run the show can fix the issue...
  4. If you're attempting to hire a car trailer, you will often find they weigh alot more than what a car trailer for "the normal person" weighs, as the hire companies often put in alot thicker steel, as well as steel in places a normal person wouldn't require it. This is to avoid them breaking all the time when people who hire them once every five years get one and drive them up gutters everywhere, side swipe objects etc etc. Custom built you can get around the 350 to 400KG mark. That would give you 1600KG if you only register to 2T. But remember, you than need to work out where your tools and fuel are going... The full kit for a break away system will set you back only a couple of hundred dollars and is well worth it for a higher capacity trailer so that you can add locked tool boxes to it, as well as tyre rack, and than large fuel container. Some people also find it handy to have a 100L water tank on board, as well as other cool stuff like nitrogen tanks... Suddenly with an extra 1500KG to legally play with, you can do alot more, and be legal... Only issue, it's no longer just a matter of any old car with an electric brake system can tow it, purely because they put a stupid light on the dash that tells you if the system is charging or not. Without that light, the RTA will throw the book at you. And yes, they go looking for it!
  5. You look mildly concerned Pete... But Congrats!
  6. I already forgot the date by the time I hit post, but I'm sure this lines up on my calendar for me to be in attendance for looksee. Guess I'll see some of you there.
  7. Is your skyline one of those super super super rare ones that doesn't have a roof and won't work in the wet?
  8. Just PM'd said person for you.
  9. I know who's car I would state as "best"... But not sure if they want things advertised on here...
  10. A cat will not stop the car popping and back firing. On a dead standard brand new XR6T if you shift down a gear at the right point in the 6 Speed Autos, they will pop and back fire loudly (To the point I can make people jump on the sidewalk) And yes, it has a fully functional cat. Mufflers are what reduce the noise.
  11. This is a GTR off the line...
  12. Those marks look way more like defects in the pressure plate. It has been specifically rubbing at those points. Has someone machined that pressure plate previously? I've got a Jim Berry pressure plate that is totally munted from heat and ready to explode, it's got cracks EVERY WHERE through it, but doesn't have the rub marks like you have. You seriously look to have had some high spots in your pressure plate. And who ever machined it appears to have machine not just the pressure plate, but the whole damn thing... WTF?
  13. I can't exactly remember what speed 4th gear pulls, but that RPM doesn't seem right to me. That would make 4th gear top at 195KM/H at 7000RPM...
  14. Failbook is more like George Orwell's 1984... You will do what they say, and think what they tell you to think, or else.
  15. I might be interested in one of those... In 6 to 9 months... If I pull my finger out and get some more funds for the car...
  16. As mentioned about, it's for the electric fan.
  17. The AC and all the fan shit is probably the heaviest stuff you can take out... LOL Your other major weight area is to re-wire the whole freaking car. Otherwise... Don't bother really.
  18. I forsee Fatz filling it with oil and dirt in the not too distant future...
  19. New Owners, New Management, same people still running the place... I think they disliked the idea of being apart of the "Western Sydney" image... LOL
  20. You would have heard wrong then... If you cut the extractors so they sit tighter on the block, you have the drivers side one exiting smack in the middle of the steering rack. For those who've done this, or are doing this currently, they can also tell you the passenger side standard or HSV manifolds fit perfectly. Nothing off the shelf will fit, as they are designed to finish under the car, not in the engine bay...
  21. Go and find Bezerk32 build thread. He got around it by using a non power steering VL rack. I'm getting around it in the R33 with some tricky exhaust manis and relocating the starter.
  22. Expect to add roughly $200 on top of your $250 for an EC day that isn't packed to the rafters and getting no track time. Last time I checked, it was 3 times the price of Wakefield park. From what I've heard from others since, it has gone up a touch since then...
  23. Brakes only slow you down... Nuff Said...
  24. I'm currently at 2 years and 2 months...
  25. Okay, this whole thread I've been facepalming something shocking at the stupidity... I get to this and nearly wet myself laughing... BRB, going toilet...
