  1. ? Some good reasons to think about heading along. http://i.imgur.com/zJ0cJ.jpg http://i.imgur.com/pdKmP.jpg http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m3j4qzGIaD1r49rmco1_400.jpg http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lqcut1MpKg1r03tsxo1_500.jpg *** may not actually be on your wall
  2. Should have added, I'm looking for a motorsport set myself. If you want bang for your buck, surely you can’t go past the SAU trader mentioned, me, I’m also considering a certain fabricator from SA, who uses imperial fittings so he can source decent race spec joints cheaply (as the States is imperial).
  3. Ask yourself: what do you want them for, if you're going to drive lots of kays on street maybe stay away from rose/pillow jointed arms - (believe defectable). if it's for motorsport, ask them how would you source replacement parts - eg new pillow balls. if it's for bling, get a nice looking set, blue titanium anyone. As for strength of the various arms, ask yourself, would you put your companys name on something you knew would fall - if they name it, they should stand by it or they'd go bust.
  4. To true. Nothing happened, been slack, haven't had alignment this year, had drifted significantly and inconsistent. Though I'm still over -3deg at the rear and can do nothing about it till I get aftermarket adjustable arms.
  5. Know what you mean. Wet Sandown highlighted issues with my set up and PI was last dry event so looking forward to going back and playing with setup. Popped in to south Melbourne Pedders at the weekend, alignment was out of whack unfortunately they maxed out rear camber adjustment and it was still not enough. Looks like I'm up for more coin for adjustable rear camber arms etc to get rid of excess rear camber.
  6. Would love to but out of country - next time.
  7. Hey we've got to get one of these, WRC chase cam anyone? "AR Drone 2 0" Wonder what AASA/CAMS would say about one of these flying over the track shooting video?
  8. PIARC are running sprints at PI, 1st & 2nd September regs are here http://www.piarc.com...es/24526S_2.pdf Noise=95dB limit This is not an SAU round but still thinking of heading down for the Sunday. $240 or $210 before 25th, includes Dorian timing. Believe you can enter on day, if spots available. Instructors are available if you wish to enter the slightly cheaper practice day Saturday – no timing.
  9. A sure fire way of improving - enter events and get some practice in. They'll still have groups, put 1:55 or thereabouts.
  10. Seriously, sick from the food and not from the slipping and sliding on the track? Though from the food, not too surprised. Due to Bel's misfortune, they stopped my group going out so they could clean up the oil and they called lunch 15mins early. I popped in to food garage and they were scrambling to cook food so decided to go back later As for the day, there were streams across the track, the clouds would open just as I headed out. I've only reviewed my practice session footage, turn two/three and great a spun car, last turn I'm laughing at the amount of understeer, slow as and still pushed straight on - this was the out lap! Wasn't even thinking of getting a fast time, decided to play and try different techniques - Greg, thanks for advice, next wet track day I will definitely use it as a chance to really play with car setup - can't be worse than current push in, tail out.
  11. not quite, they openned it up to AO48, AO50 tyres as well from the start of this year - check out the registration or even the wakefield leaderboard. Just noticed Eastern Creek has no entries, just openned for WTAC?
  12. Oh and it's one of the best tracks to learn at, so little furniture and corner speeds aren’t that great – all in all, perfect to start out.
  13. you're not joking, Standard Entry Fee $240.... vs Tampered $160, vs Sandown where you don't blow +$50 on fuel to get there, what is going on. as for breakdowns, there are some seriously good pit lane mechanics out there willing to help - as long as they've not got their hands full already
  14. Everyone running Advans should really push for PI to get added to the Advan cup, no updates to Winton for ages. http://www.autoobsession.com.au/advan-neova-homepage/advan-neova-cup-leaderboard/winton-leaderboard/
  15. bah hum bug, would have had decent points for once - apart from people turning up!
  16. Pretty serious stuff. It does a couple of things 1) not been on brakes for a while, checks they're working prior to entering big brake zone 2) gets pads next to the rotors for instant application.
  17. Entry list is only just up (see Martin's post), around 65 spots left. If PI was anything to go by, there may not be enough driving instructors, I've never done it before, so I've got common sense, done a few events but... do we have a checklist put together for advice around safety, getting the most out of the day, and not forgetting where to buy those chill pills when you come back in
  18. checkout the Samsung software/sampling specifications for an idea, eg is it 1hz?. I use one of the 10hz http://www.qstarz.com.au/index_files/Page461.htm gps receivers $80
  19. Greg, thanks for seat offer, actually have one, its just on the list to fit, so are spitfires, just a bit further down . Sam, Dashware costs $50 or so but you don't need aditional video editing software. I use racechrono2avi but for some reason my output video always runs 0.x seconds longer than the lap so if you string laps together it quickly gets out by seconds. Richo, if you don't mind could I borrow your 2avi dash layout (sub files) to check vs mine?
  20. Corner speed is work in progress, good to have excellent weather like that to continue with the steady improvements. Obviously the biggest issue is having the Bs but starting to hit the point where the back is loose on entry, so just a case of stringing it all together. Least it gives me something to think about while at work. Oh and yes, I need to install a seat, I get a bit of back strain from bracing myself due to lack of support. But then I’ll get it from sitting in a seat without cushioning driving to and from events.
  21. Broadford, stuck behind a clio really need a good drivers briefing. As for comments regarding future, shame there seems to be strife within WRX as it precludes people standing up to assist. Thing with volunteer organisers, they don't get paid enough - it's a hard job. What would the clubs think of us doing a pic and mix year, maybe we should get a discount for loyalty. And aren't AROCA days already quite full? Think the MS committee might need a slab to get through this topic.
  22. Yes there is a cafe in the pits area.
  23. Or get their knees dirty! So you attach the tow yourself.
  24. quick update, WRX PI supp regs https://secure1.ilisys.com.au/wrxc/motorsports/Current_Supp_Regs.pdf
