  1. Results are within WRX Wrap up thread
  2. Yes I had a laugh when I saw that. Timing Katie. Least I didn't get called a queen! How'd PI go Sunday, spotted the 1:51s, wouldn't have minded being there myself, instead of mowing the lawn at 5kph.
  3. Very enjoyable, ran anticlockwise figure 8 (as per Australian Championship held the other week), with so few entries, plenty of oportunity to work on improving times doing different things. Only bummer, they closed up shop a bit early (around 4:30) and forgot a hat, so even with factor 30, got a bit of sun burn!
  4. BP@Officer kind of works for me as well as I tend to set off from home at 6am. I'll PM my mobile.
  5. I’m in, mourn the end of the season and to check when the 2012 dates for my next fix might be available.
  6. Did you notice Sunday 12th Nov in the event sup regs and acknowledgement email. I checked with WRX motorsport and can confirm the event is Saturday 12th Nov (not Sunday).
  7. Was going to wait until after the Nats but hey, if going to enter, might as well be now.
  8. hopefully this might help white out issue. centre > often short for centre weighted, ie exposure taken from full frame including dark interior but weighted more to what is in the centre. Spot > exposure is taken from a spot(centre) looking at the footage where do you reckon the centre is? John's is the track, Ant do you reckon yours is the top of the dash? Basically I think I did the same thing at Sandown, centre was the dash resulting in over exposed track. At the last PI event, centre was the track and worked really well for the bright conditions. Mine is HD Gopro with firmware upgrade. If only I could dashware or rachchrono dials to work without glitches for my gps data(10hz).
  9. Sorry to hear about the broken wrist, ouch and glad to hear wasn't major car damage so both are on the mend. Thanks to Russ, Martin, John for your advice, will post findings in the brakes thread but I talked to GSL RallySport who mentioned A1RMs but if I don’t mind spending more, they reckon I should try Project mu’s Club Racer pads for longer track pad life and do work from cold. I’ll have them in for the SAU nationals. Note I had no issues with repeating the same setup but as I’m starting out, seems sensible to test a few setups.
  10. Lovely weather. Had an enjoyable day pushing my limits (visits to the gravel) resulting in a PB, though not hard with prior outtings being in the wet! Brakes suffered, APP (SR) pads wore down so much that they started to crumble, being searching site for replacement recommendations for minimal street. Only shame is that it seems I had too much dash within video metering so the track footage is a bit washed out.
  11. Anyone interested in Gopro HD Hero or the LCD backpack should check out http://www.torpedo7.com.au weekly specials $270 incl helmet mount and $70 respectively. I'm also cyclist so I get their email notifications.
  12. I've just started to use a 10hz GPS (QSTARZ BT-Q818XT <$100) bluetooth to RaceChrono ($free running on a Nokia) seemed to work well but first event was an untimed PI meet so can't compare results against NATSOFT Not sure about RaceChrono2AVI, it displays frozen laptime from Racechrono but seems to run for nearly a second longer per lap - towards the end of a session, my AVI overlay zeroes lap time as I enter turn 1! This extra time is not in the RaceChrone CSV file. Anyone experience this issue - developer doesn't seem to be on the RaceChrono forum anymore?
  13. I'm starting to use a HD GoPro to capture track footage: still to overlay racechrono2avi before posting And I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations for initial mounting locations when snowboarding? As I've already noticed with car footage, - Stuck to the outside of driver door captures steering lock verses car movement for drift type events, - Whereas front bar/inside on dash gives good appreciation of speed/direction. - And upside down from trim light captures driver inputs but slows the action a bit. I don't have a gopro backpack, so wondering if anyone has any snow recommendations. I've got a suction cup and 3m straight/curved mount possibilities.
  14. I'm in, didn't realise both WRX & CAMS accepted credit cards - shame cinema Nova is in a different century.
  15. I'll be in for this, just have to get paid first, renew CAMS next week etc. As for Garages, there are quite a few. Believe at the weekend they quoted $160 but you can double up.
  16. Excellent day, didn’t hit my target, but a big improvement from my prior trip. Made big improvements with lines etc so very happy. Got the 4x15mins sessions plus a session with instructor so the fuel tank was vapours by the time I got to the servo. Russell, shame about your woes cutting the day short, hope it works out, seems exhaust leaks were the go, mine started impersonating a tractor on the way home – to be investigated, food, drink n settling in to F1 Qual & Le Tour.
  17. You can alway email the sprint sec from PIARC contacts. Theresa accepted my scan to PDF and mentioned I could pay on the day. I'll think on garage, do you book before day? as not normally bothered. Still forecasting 1mm but pretty strong winds, shiver.
  18. I’m popping down on Saturday to build up some PI experience, hopefully the GSP receiver arrives in time so I can get a baseline for the SAU round in August.
  19. Guess I'm missing this round - entries closed at 83.
  20. Spotted 45+ entries, still hoping to enter late and review weather first. I don’t have to worry about noise but I understand the annoyance of uncertainty, mines the fire extinguisher, relying on rule judgement calls but least they’ve tried to define what is required for 25g force.
  21. I'll pop down for a beer, shame but I don't think they are doing anything for "good beer week" http://craftypint.com/news/post/good-beer-week-is-go/
  22. John Packham paid, you should receive the entry form tomorrow. May I start on the back track in the morning. Also if there is a short fall with volunteers, willing to sacrifice back track to help out if needed.
  23. Thanks I'm in, just waiting for their banking details for the bank transfer. And I'll have to get something like racecrono or Qstarz though wouldn't mind something for the bicycle to track rides/altitude changes as well.
  24. Anyone know if there are spaces still available for Sunday as the cost doesn't go up until 6th, can't seem to access FFCC site to check? Would get me out of mother(in law) day.
  25. I enjoyed my day and was happy to get in to the 1:45s but what about not being able to finish your last lap, annoying. 4/5 through my best lap to get the red lights indicating session end, how f....., reckon I had a 1:35 in the bag
