  1. When are you trying to have positions finalised, how much investigation/thinking time is there? Could there be discussion at the next general meeting?
  2. Yeah he had his hands full when I drove through. Looking to defect?
  3. Entry sent, if I could be numbered to start on the back track, would be appreciated - ta. JP
  4. I’ve just installed new fronts brakes so I’m heading down to PI for the Victorian sprint Saturday practice. If anyone is also popping down, I’m in the green s14 if you want to say hi. If no major brake issues, I will look to put in an entry next week. Be interested to see if you’re running any of the mega wangs, missed the mega mini last year.
  5. I'll drop round to spectate at some stage (not the grade 6er trying on her uniform!!). I'm not entered, more concerned with brake HP at the minute, chewing through pads like fries after a session.
  6. Good to hear no trouble, hope everyone had wide brimmed straw hats! I had a small gap while stood at the BBQ and the sun found it! I'm itching to get out again but even if I didn't have brake issues would have struggled to get to this with it being a big family day.
  7. Barry Sheene memorial event, feeling old here, I used to go with my dad and watch him race in the mid 70s. Hi Martin, As for wakefield sprints, as we're SAUVic not SAUNSW, does that mean $250 entry, just wondering if you've already clarified. As for Nissan day, don't they mention you also need to be wakefield member therefore $80+$40 or is that similar to Winton having the possibility of an AASA in lieu of CAMS L2S?
  8. Hi Martin, don't know about Driver Dynamics Defensive Drive course, maybe different. But I did a J Bowe one around 10yrs ago and they did a bit of theory about seating position, tyres, braking, handling concepts etc. The in car stuff was wet emergency stop, moose test, slalom etc. So if the daily driver has ABS, ESP all it really highlights is the limit of the tech. Don't get enough goes to aim to get the max without triggering. Drivers tends to be, too gentle and need a prod to reach the limits, then move to next exercise. IMO, if you have a vehicle you're comfortable with driving that hasn't got the tech or it can be switched off, use that. After all off street is the only safe/legal place to practice at the limit handling.
  9. Thanks Ash, reviewed the members area and will probably wait. PIARC also ran a PI event early last year so if they do the same again - there will be a fallback option. Roy, I've been informed the Alfa days are very well run, just looking to try one for myself.
  10. I missed the last 2011 GM meeting due to flu, was there any discussion on possible dates for early 2012 events Don't have the availability to attend multiple events per month, so just wondering what there may be in the pipeline. I'm considering AROCA @ PI Feb 2012 and it fills up fast.
  11. this is what it looks like following you.
  12. Here's my time from a scorcher of an afternoon at calder park Saturday Car#147 13.416 / 105.48 / Silvia (220rwkw 200sx s14) on 235/45/17 street rubber.
  13. Here’s my time from a scorcher at calder park yesterday Car#147 13.416 / 105.48 / Silvia (200sx s14) on 235 street rubber.
  14. Ah he's given me a call, finalising groupings for issue shortly.
  15. I've emailed a couple of times regarding entry confirmation - no response. I'll see if something comes through tomorrow. If I don't get a confirmation, not looking forward to the wait for a full refund!
  16. I’m thinking of hitting the Calder park drag strip Saturday - anyone else planning on attending? 17 Dec 2011 Street Drags At Calder Park Gates Open: 10:00am Scrutineering: 10:00pm to 6:00pm (approximately) Racing: 12:00pm - LATE Gates Close: LATE Street Car/Bike: $80 inc GST Inc 1 Driver, 1 Crew Entry
  17. Does Adam confirm your entry? Paid a couple of weeks ago and didn't hear, would be nice to know before driving up for the day.
  18. Go to their website, use the contact us feature and provide the following, note they can take days to reply! when they do, its just a case of following the payment instructions, easy. Full Name: Email Address: Mobile Phone Number: Car Make & Model: Capacity: Previous best time at Winton: Forum/Workshop/Car Club you are a part of: (to be listed on Timing Sheet)
  19. Thanks for the offer, hope the car and fishing work out well but please don't go out of your way on my account. If no one is interested in joining me, I'll just play it by ear, no planning required, set off early and I was brought up in the UK between the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and Pennines so I'm used to leap frogging tourists - while avoiding bikers screaming the other way, no mean feat when it was a guttless 1.3 astra. BTW google link didn't work, but I'll be doing more research nearer the time.
  20. entries for 2012 AROCA Sprint Series Round 1 Phillip Island February 4 SATURDAY should be open just after their December round!
  21. I'd not be using a trailer to get to Goulburn, don't have cruise control so not looking forward to 7hr drive on the freeway - noise, fines due to speed creep etc. Would anyone be interested in taking a longer scenic route to get there? My link could also look at different routes between king valley and Kiewa. The only time I've driven round these roads is for the snow with family in the car.
  22. Thanks Ash, didn't realise that I could change the insert media link and drop the . from youtu.be Now to edit a few more for the motorsport section.
  23. Just trying to figure out the way to add my video from the day. Can't seem to get it embeded?
  24. Do they tend to sell out early and how do you sign up? Do you use the website "contact us" function to request entry form etc?
  25. Rechecked the location, some drive. So it's not really the timing for me so much as if I want to drive up there twice. Aiming to plan a family visit to Sydney for the Nats. I'll have a look at some high country routes over a day or two - if I can find something interesting without too much(any ) dirt road then maybe. If anyone has experience, input always appreciated.
