  1. They can and do work without bov's. Blow off valves were added to factory cars as more of a noise control thing but not all turbo cars came with them. IIRC the RB20DET Cefiros didn't come with a bov..
  2. 2 whoppers or 2 bacon deluxes is about my limit!
  3. The 2.5" section isn't going to be helping at all but I don't see how it would recover and keep making power if it was a restriction.. My exhaust housing is my restriction and when that noses over, it does so rather hard and doesn't recover itself.. First step is probably cut out that centre muffler and replace with a piece of 3" pipe and see how it goes from there.
  4. No worries, glad you enjoyed it!
  5. The refund will almost get you a new set of bearings!
  6. I don't feel the need to attempt to provide video evidence, my detector performs fine in ALL situations, even multi's behind (admittedly I didn't know wtf was going on the first time it picked one of those up as I couldn't see the damn thing!) I'm just sceptical about your intentions. You joined yesterday, have 6 posts which are all in this thread. Sounds a lot like some other dick that was on here spouting the same shit you are. No hard feelings
  7. Not very scientific.. wow.. 600m on a straight road with minimal traffic.. and still no definitive measuring device. My Pro78 performs flawlessly and has picked up everything I have come across with plenty of warning in the year I've had it, I can't see the justification for your rubbishing. P.S. Grammar is your friend.
  8. Dude, don't try to diagnose on my setup as you know nothing about it. You are trying to to tell me about a hardware problem when it is actually just the nature of ebc settings, you set the SETGAIN too close to the target boost level and it will spike. Get off the soapbox Internet Warrior, I'm out because I can't be bothered getting into an argument with the all omnipotent one.

    Bov

    +1 It's not rocket doctory P.S. Fixed.
  10. You don't have to have a "problem" to benefit from an ebc. Have you compared your boost reponse to that when your gate is wired shut? I would hazard a guess that even if you have, it's still a bullshit analogy as with the gate wired shut you're going to be getting off the gas pretty damn quickly before you grenade your engine There is definately a fairly hefty (at least in my setup) difference between not holding the gate shut and holding it shut till 8.5psi (The reason I don't hold it shut any later is because of the setup and boost coming on so fast, it spikes if I set it over 8.5psi). The physics involved tell me that a pressure actuator is going to start opening as the pressure builds. I understand there can be some funky gates with fancy progressive spring rates etc that could probably do similar to the SETGAIN feature on my profecB, but in my EXPERIENCE on MY SETUP, the ebc makes a big difference.
  11. That's the one I'm talking about. Just don't go there in the morning on Dole day.. all the local natives hang out in front of the Post Office waiting for the BWS to open.
  12. Why is it Whistlers' fault? My Pro78 works fkn awesomely and I don't have it mounted so stupidly high on the windscreen either. I would really like some scientific evidence to substantiate these claims of the Pro78 sucking, and that doesn't mean more dodgy, poor quality youtube videos with estimated distances.
  13. That's the way I like it can make it a little hard to drive normally sometimes.. 3L + 25 turbo + holding gate shut till 8.5psi the boost comes on rather quickly
  14. An EBC can help bring the boost on a LOT faster than with just the actuator. Depends on how harsh you want your power delivery
  15. You shouldn't have to lie to the police because you're worried they'll hassle you over a standard engine component. That's just ridiculous. If they are to have the power to defect a car because of certain things, then they should be educated sufficiently. They've obviously been directed to look out for such things as noisy bov's, else why would it be the focus of many dealings? It has become blatantly clear recently that the majority of police dishing out yellow stickers, don't know wtf they're talking about.
  16. Catch a CAT bus up to the East Perth PO.
  17. Their TR44HF kit seems like good value if it's reliable enough.
  18. Don't be a pussy (i.e. don't be afraid to stick your head out). If no-one is shooting at you and you don't have anyone to shoot at, move. Keep moving up on them, shorten the field and it will panic your opponents. Also, paintball is a game of angles.. you want the widest possible angle on your enemy as it will reduce the cover they have. This means, don't rush up the middle of the field.. stick to the edges and look in/across field. Lastly, gun up! always have your gun up! P.S.
  19. This whole "your factory bov is illegal" thing is really starting to piss me off, it seems to be almost the first thing out of any cops mouth that pulls over a skyline. They really shouldn't be allowed to pick on anything technical IF THEY DON'T KNOW WTF THEY'RE TALKING ABOUT. Either edumacate the cops or remove their ability to sticker cars.
  20. It's on Saturday..
  21. So you're going to sleep through the event?
  22. My GT358R cost me $1600 brand spankers.. in the scheme of things I didn't find that outrageous and feel better knowing that it is a tried and true item.
  23. In the boot on the underside of the parcel shelf. I'm not a fan of cutting wires as I've seen some people lose their speed sensitive steering as a result of it.
  24. My clutch has recently started to let out a single squeek on downshift if I don't rev-match, slightly annoying
  25. Nice work bro!
