  2. I was talking to Brad My box crunches 2nd slightly if I rush it and I was considering some Redline shockproof oil but my mechanic said don't bother/don't waste my money.
  3. +1 Although I did steps 1 & 2 reversed and in between them through a 25 turbo on there for a bit of extra poke. Now I've gone bigger engine, bigger brakes again and soon an even bigger turbo
  4. turbo's do not spin backwards. The sound is just the air being bounced off the closed throttle plate and chopping against the air still coming out of the turbo. My bov is so tight that it flutters under nearly all conditions other than full boost with a quick lift off.

Things you can do without needing a tune: Exhaust Fuel pump (my suggestion is a Bosch 044) pod/CAI FMIC RB25 turbo Suspension Brakes Gearbox (depending on how much power you want, it's not going to live very long - I killed 1x RB20 box with the RB20 and another with the RB30) Diff (2-way ftw ) As for the rest, as mentioned, pick a power goal and go from there

  13. The only thing to upgrade to is a PPG gearset or something similarly expensive, I highly doubt you're going to blow your box up though.
  14. I thought R33 manuals had taller ratios than R32 GTSt's, mine was stock 4.363:1..

  16. Aren't auto 33's already around the 3.9 range? manual 33's are ~4.1:1 and autos are generally taller.. my gears came out of an auto S13. If it helps at all, my understanding of the difference between 32/S13 and 33 diffs is that the 33's have larger diameter crown wheel bolts. 3.9's with my setup didn't make it noticably slower (probably because my current turbo is waaay undersize), it made it a lot more streetable though!

  19. I've got it, used to play the demo heaps years ago but since I got the full game I haven't really played it.. too much of a hassle to set my steering wheel up on my computer desk
  20. I went through 2x RB20 boxes (one with the 20 and one with the 30), I was a bit worried about spending $1500 on a second hand gearbox but it's been fine so far. With thick oil it crunched 2nd a little when it's cold. When it dies, I'll put a proper gearset in there Upgrading to a 25 box was a bloody good decision! It now takes all the abuse I used to throw at the 20 box and some more again.

My thermostat was stuck (replaced it and the water pump a couple of months ago), it would take AGES to warm up and then climb reasonably quickly once it was over 80deg (as the thermostat wasn't opening fully) but I don't think it climbed as quickly as this blokes' seems to be.. the only time my temps have ever climbed that quickly when giving it a "stab" was when I split a heater hose.

  23. Budget about 2.5k for the whole conversion, that's what mine came in about with the custom tailshaft and other bits and bobs (new slave cylinders etc etc)
