  1. Sorry, meant the N1 pump is designed for sustained high rpm which is why I opted for the OEM RB20 pump as the 3L was in my daily driver (at the time) so I didn't want any issues when getting stuck in traffic on the way to work. Also, chuckie had a custom impeller made for his water pump by Terry Stacy, looked like a trick bit of kit, very similar to the N1 setup. No idea on flow rates etc though.
  2. No flow data here but the reason I put an OEM RB20 pump on my 3L instead of an N1 pump is purely due to the many opinions that they are designed for sustained high rpm's.
  3. A "window switch" is a controller that switches as per a defined "window". If you just used an RPM switch to say turn VCT on at 1200rpm and off at 5400rpm, then it wouldn't turn back on until you were below 1200rpm and then rose to 1200rpm again. The "window" switch turns it on whenever the range is within the defined "window". So why is the speed signal incompatible with the R34 ECU? have you asked the guys at NIStune? Another thought is, I can't remember if you can change the cut in speed for VCT (I know you can change the cut in temp and the rpm range), if you can then change it to 0.. I will have a look this arvo if I get a chance (don't bring my NIStune laptop to work unfortunately )
  4. No idea, probably supply and demand. I have seen gtr boxes sell for $600 but 33gtst boxes are up around 1200-1500 (I paid 1500 for mine )
  5. Not that bad, GTR boxes can be had for like half the price of a RB25t box
  6. Welcome aboard!
  7. Nice power!
  8. Definitely different for every tyre, on my old 17" Federals 38psi was the sweet spot, with the 18" Federals 45psi is sweet for me on the front but the Nexens I just threw on the back yesterday are happier at 40psi.
  9. wut? I already said no need for a low temp thermostat, and I didn't say chinese stuff is shit but as far as chinese made goods go you DO pay for quality. That is the only difference in chinese made goods, from the same factory you can have good or crap stuff, depending on how much you're willing to pay for the quality control. I deal with chinese manufacturers and fabricators a fair bit (albeit for much larger scale stuff)
  10. Good to see you round here again mate
  11. Spot on. And conversely, you get rather poor fuel atomisation at lower temps so unless your inlet tracts and combustion chambers have been designed to run at ~60deg, nobody should be using one of those low temp thermostats.
  12. I've been playing with RB's for a while now dude, and I am yet to see the issues you are stating. I'm not saying they DON'T happen, I'm just saying it's probably not as dire as you are making out. As I agreed with above, if you're hitting 95deg after a quick blat to 100kmh then yes, you have a problem but it's not going to cause everything to fall apart from pitting and corrosion. Basically, regular fluid maintenance (which coolant is a part of, and something everybody should be doing) will help everything live a (hopefully) long and uneventful life. Ignore your fluid changes for several years, and yes, you will likely see a massive deteoriation in cooling system components. The lack of maintenance, even at normal operating temps, is going to do a lot more damage than running it hotter but changing fluids more often.
  13. Tein super wagons, 33gtr front swaybar. And no, it's actually got a fair bit of grip in the wet even in 2WD.
  14. +1 I'd rather go with a genuine thermostat.
  15. Something like this... http://www.lewisengines.com.au/prod109.htm
  16. Do you have evidence to back up your scaremongering? I agree that if you're reaching 95deg after a couple of hard jaunts up to 100kmh there is an issue that likely needs to be addressed. Telling people that reaching 95deg is OMG GOING TO REDUCE THE LIFE OF EVERYTHING THE COOLANT TOUCHES, is scaremongering.
  17. If you're going to pull it out to fix it.. put a decent sump in there
  18. Have weathshields, no noise here.
  19. Ok that's 3 people, 3 more gets the price down (they don't have to all be the same board either)
  20. RRP for 1x Type 4 board, delivered, including GST is $301. If we can get 6 or more I should be able to get the price down some.
  21. No, it's not.
  22. Very tidy!
  23. That's all horribly low for low profile 18's... I run my 235/40/18's at 45psi cold, even 42psi doesn't feel right and anything under 40psi feels terrible.
  24. You sir, are full of win.
  25. FEAR NOT ROWAN IS ON THE CASE
