Yeah and the crap thing was I was in a Camry! lol They only just nailed me, I was just probably a bit too tired and when the detector went off (as soon as they came into sight) I didn't get on the anchors quite fast enough

GTR is like 25mm thick and GTSt is like 16mm.

There was bugger all, fishing from the beach and the rocks all our group caught was a couple of small whiting and a baby flathead. Most of the time the wind was too crazy to cast into 'sok, learnt how to ride a quad instead

God damn DD! Got nailed for 15kmh over on the way home Oh well, first speeding fine in about 4 years!

Spoke to Steve this morning and asked him to pack a couple of s2 4wd autos into the next container, still going to be a while away though I nearly cried catching the bus this morning

32 GTR radiators drop straight in and are an excellent upgrade. I turfed my chinese ally unit for a GTR and my heatsoak woes went away. As for coilpacks, I'm running OEM RB20/26 coils fine. No point in an off-plug setup unless you REALLY need to because you're running 3bar of boost.

I have found the poppers on the BCF site, just need to get down to a store this arvo (damn gearboxes), trying to do it surreptitously so my mates don't cotton on to my secret weapon

My mate has 280s in his 30DET with a T04Z. IMO they are too big, it has none of the low down 30 torque. Boy does it scream to 8500rpm and want to keep going though.

lol I think little is an understatement It seems like the tranny oil pump at this stage but I'm not holding my breathe for the internals to have survived very well.. Thanks to chuckie for towing me home as I still couldn't get any gears Had a blast nonetheless! But.. I think the quicker and cheaper ride is going to be dropping the engine back in the 32 will worry about it all after easter!

There's none in Perth Best Steve can do for me is a RWD s2 auto or 34GTT auto after Easter, and then I'll have to try swap the guts into my casing

Hypertune Intake Manifold Will Hit Clutch Master Cylinder
bubba replied to tricstar's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
The point I was trying to make is that with 32GTR's, they run a vacuum assisted clutch (CLUTCH BOOSTER). This means that the master cylinder setup for GTR is different to GTSt and GTS4. If this is the case with 33GTR, then you won't be able to run a GTSt master cylinder. -
What Have You Done To Your Stagea Lately?
bubba replied to Hanso's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Yeah, mostly me being a dickhead. Cooked it proper like, think I have broken the tranny oil pump too which caused it to cook even more. Was beating up on it for a couple of hours through the hills, then dropped a skid on some semi slicks no worries. Went to drop another skid but I think a combination of hot engine, hot box, hot semis, really didn't go down well Then add in the fact it was 1am, I was tired and cranky coz it wouldn't light up so I probably tried a bit too hard Now there is a dull rattle from the bellhousing, HEAPS of fluid in the pan at temp (with a nice burnt smell) and can't get any gear (can see the selection on the dash though). Diagnostics said Shift Solenoid B and Overrun clutch solenoid but I highly doubt those... the fact that there is a rattle, heaps of fluid in the pan and can't get any gear leads me to think the oil pump is busted. Got a spare torque converter from a 34GTT but not a spare box -

Broke my gearbox -
Stagea. If I can't find a box in time I'll be driving mates Land Rover troopie. Grabbing a couple of poppers tonight and some new line, 10-15kg should be fine yeah? what sort of rig setup would you suggest for beach casting? We're leaving Thursday and coming back Tuesday

We're heading down on Thursday, hopefully I can fix the wagon before then

Hypertune Intake Manifold Will Hit Clutch Master Cylinder
bubba replied to tricstar's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Do 33GTR's still have the clutch booster? not sure if the non-booster master cylinder will work with the booster... -
If you're reshimming to remove backlash, it's a pro job. If you're reshimming to refresh your LSD, then you can do it yourself. I put my old 32gtst diff in the Stagea, I did the LSD shimming myself then got my diff guy to set the centre up in its' new housing.

Not until I get it out but I think it's the oil pump, there's a bit of a funny dull rattle coming from the bellhousing area and I don't think there's any line pressure.. it lets me select every gear but I get nothing, just revs, doesn't budge. Diagnostics said Shift solenoid B and Overrun clutch solenoid but I doubt it.. the fact that I cooked the fk out of it and there is a dodgy rattle leads me to believe it's more mechanical Got a spare 34GTT torque converter, just need to find a box.. ideally a Stag box coz I need to be running before Easter

RE4R01B, tiptronic 4-speed (i think the 03 is the 5speed?). AFAIK the only difference was mine has a transfer case hanging off the back.. it would be nice but I highly doubt the transfer case will just bolt to the back of a 34GTT housing. I'm hoping the guts would come out pretty intact, swap the new guts into my housing, and hey presto. But I'm a gearbox n00b (especially autos).

The 30 is a great idea, I did mine in a weekend. With ancillaries, you stick with whatever suits the head and the car. In Mafias case, R33 RB25DET head is the better choice. For the OP, an R32 RB25DE head is the go (what I used). With an R32 RB25DE head, everything is the same as RB20, it all swaps across. There is some minor modding of power steering bracket and exhaust manifold, then massaging cooler pipes but it's nowhere near as scary as some people make it out to be. I literally drove in on a Friday arvo and drove out about 1am Monday morning. With an RB25 turbo @ 12psi, it made ~250rwhp @ 4600rpm.. 3000rpm 2nd gear launches ftw It seriously makes a 32gtst even more fun than they normally are, IMO it's how they should have come out of the factory

Then don't buy an off the shelf system. Find the muffler you want and get kermit to make you up a nice system with that muffler on the end, exactly where you want it. If you just weld a bigger muffler on the end it's going to sound like a Honda.
