  1. Ally is aluminium, alloy is something else
  2. Hot. BRB stairwell. I get snobbed by every M35 I come across. The only M35 driver I haven't been snobbed by was andynogo but I ran into him on foot at the shops Oh and a few of us C34 boys rolled into Carousel HJs carpark on night before heading into the hills. There was a couple of R33s, and R34 and maybe an S13.. there was also a towtruck driver near us eating dinner. Some smart ass skyline driver was like "huhuhuh the towtrucks here to pick the Stageas up" So before we left, we watched one of the Skylines being put on the back of another flat bed that rocked up Unfortunately, that was the night I snapped my gearbox P.S. Aaron, I love your avatar
  3. Yep sweet, just spoke to my mechanic and he said exactly the same thing about blocking the rear feed and putting a 1.5mm restrictor in the front feed. Cheers Can you get fittings that don't require welding to the sump? I was planning on bolting it up on Saturday so if I can get away with just drilling a hole and screwing a fitting it that would be much preferable to welding!
  4. My list would be very similar to yours Eps and the only R33/34's I acknowledge are those I know
  5. Yeah.. because Group A regs or whatever they were called didn't allow more? (just making an assumption here seeing as the 32R was designed to meet those regs pretty closely). And they're not EXACTLY 2.6L either.. they would have found the best bore:stroke ratio (while keeping the 86mm bore probably for easiness) to allow them to rev really hard as that's what you do to a race car..
  6. I think something a lot of people forget about is their diff ratios, you would probably find that with some taller ratios behind the 30 it would be more comparable with the 26 on the track (less revs means less speed in each gear, 2000rpm is a lot of road speed in any gear, so you need to go taller ratios to make better use of the torque at lesser revs).
  7. Hmm that's interesting.. With my 25DE (non VCT) head and N1 pump I really needed smaller restrictors (didn't touch them at all). However the bottom end that is about to go in is a stocker with stock RB30E pump, I wasn't planning to restrict anything but now I am rethinking that idea.. Any advice would be appreciated as the head will be going on on Saturday! Setup is: - standard series 2 RB30E bottom end - standard RB30E oil pump - R32 RB25DE head - ASR bigass sump - cam covers vented to atmo catch can, PCV blocked, head has a fitting in the back but I wasn't going to bother plumbing it up. Still have the opportunity to weld a fitting to the sump for the head breather if needed.. So I guess my questions are: do I restrict the oil feeds and if so, how big should they be? should I bother installing a fitting on the sump (drivers side on the top of the wing?) for the head breather?
  8. I hate "brand name" stuff and will only buy it if I absolutely have to. I get more gratification out of working on my cars myself so I will make whatever I can. The only things I don't do are tuning and suspension setups. Any of you fabricator type people got any tips/hints/suggestions for painting the ally? I could buff it up but not really a fan of the "bling", would prefer to paint it matt black!
  9. I guess that doesn't apply to bearing that is also the thrust washer?
  10. Nice! pass on my congratz PM sent.
  11. *sigh* ok, I'll save that for the next SAUWA Paintball day Got the bottom end up to the workshop this arvo, will get up there next on Saturday. Missed the courier that came to drop off my new radiator Got confirmation clutch left yesterday
  12. [ Yeah, he's got an R33 GTSt, we discussed options and he's going a different way. Cleared some room and added you to the list -BigJim -Blizzerd -gersfan -Darq -tibinstein If Tim confirms he's in, we're on!
  13. Tim (d1drifter) you in? Need one more (if Tim is in)! doesn't matter what type of board! I really want to avoid advertising in the main SAUWA area for this as I am not a business and/or trader!
  14. Have you got solid cradle bushes? My 32 is pretty f**king stiff but I don't have solid cradle bushes (was my daily when I did the cradle bushes so did go solids). But seriously, most of the roads are better than most of the roads in Perth. If you're that worried about bouncing around, take the Forest Hwy instead of SW Hwy
  15. Bunch of pussies. There are some awesome roads down there and my mate from Bunno was informing me about one in particular that I have to check out! Chuckie and I have done some epic day trips out of Bunno, the last one started in Australind and was about a 700km loop through the southwest, stopped in Bridgetown for lunch. Not planning anything that long but will keep anyone who is interested updated
  16. Nice, I bought a Formula GT car last night
  17. Well once the 32 is going I'll be heading to Bunbury for a country drive, everyone is more than welcome to tag along
  18. I gave it a crack as well, didn't even use a cardboard template.. just measured and drew on the ally. Shitty camera phone pic at night but you get the idea. Have edged it with some split 4mm vaccum tube and will paint it black when I get a chance to grab some UHT Black. Will also look at some "wings" to go down the sides between the cooler and radiator (have gutted aircon and mounted 2x thermo fans where the condenser used to be).
  19. Yeah mrs just msgd me to tell me it's back up! My username is bubbajugs
  20. That's what we were all thinking
  21. Interested pending date if it's after the 32 is going.
  22. Get rid of the HICAS.
  23. /sceptical
