  1. Sounds like a good plan
  2. That's about what most people retard their exhaust cam gears.. What ECU are you using? and what thermostat? Neo ECU's need to see 70deg water temp to enable (if NIStuned, you can change this), other than that I can't think of any issues
  3. If it's a stock ECU then yes, I've got a consult cable and Datascan and NIStune so I can hook the laptop up if need be
  4. My neo was on at 1200rpm and off at 5000rpm but that doesn't really work with the highflow, I need to bring the turnoff point down. Also, I was under the impression that VCT advances the intake cam 20deg.
  5. If you actually read the threads properly, particularly my posts.. I said that when I first put 2x1.49 shims in it was TIGHT AS FK and was essentially acting like my 2-way in the Skyline. After a couple of weeks it had worn in to the point that I didn't notice it anymore, except on full lock reversing out of a parking space. Couple more weeks and it wasn't carrying at all but still lit both wheels very predictably.

Jimmy, I'm in Ashfield and if the 32 isn't going I may hit you up for a lift
  7. Forged pistons don't allow for higher combustion temperatures persay, you could make 6-800hp on factory cast pistons as long as there is no det. Induce det and then you will have a problem with cast pistons a LOT sooner than you would with forged pistons. So I get what you're saying, but I don't wholeheartedly agree But yeah, factory setup with a few critical mods (oil supply/return etc) should see it live a long healthy life. Oh and I'm still baffled by the 3L will be too torquey comment
  8. It will bolt up OK but you won't be able to control it. Unlike 33 and earlier autos which have a separate TCM, in R34's the TCM is part of the ECU.
  9. Did someone say bbq?
  10. Forged pistons aren't really power dependant, they just allow more tolerance for detonation.
  11. If gersfan catches up with me today I will order them this afternoon, had a hiccup with account numbers
  12. All sorted Jim and it wasn't as simple as the ECU number, I had to download the whole image from Andreis' ECU as it is an odd model and they haven't done one before.. It is a series 2 with a Neo engine but not the tiptronic auto, 25GT-X or something like that I sent the image to NIStune and just heard back that it's doable. Oh and it was my serial>USB adapter that was playig up chuckies worked fine!
  13. Is he in Joondalup? Kralos was telling me there was a guy up that way that sells cheap Federals to drifters.. What tyres did you get Griff? Otherwise if you just need really cheap to get you out of the shit, Rollright Tyres in Balcatta do 2nd hand tyres.
  14. Haven't dealt with Ovaboost but I have no complaints about Hyperdrive, Andrew is a top bloke

Rowan, RC drifting.. what surface? should I put the PVC shod tyres on? my car is a bit too powerful for them but if the surface is grippy and the track small it might be a bit sketchy on rubber tyres
  16. On the topic of restrictors, I got some 1/4" x 1/4" grub screws and some mig tips and ended up going with the grub screws. Went to see my mate with a drill press and 4 drill bits later I had two 1.5mm restrictors (running front feed at 1.5mm and rear feed blocked). Tapping them in to the block means that I can easily remove them in the future if I need to change restrictor size. But yeah, everything Dale said is spot on. I would still go with a 30 though but I'm slightly biased seeing as that I have a 30 in my 32gtst
  17. That's almost worthy of a warning!
  18. Because the PowerFC is an engine management unit and the AVC-R is a boost control unit... you're probably thinking of an SAFC.
  19. Find a mate with small hands? Superchump sell vacuum hose by the meter or you can get that fancy coloured stuff off a trader or ebay.
  20. Some very tidy examples in here, puts my bunky to shame but I'm about go not show
  21. They may good at building v8 drag engines but it sounds like they know nothing about building RB's. Just the sheer mention of NO restrictors and a bigger oil pump would make me RUN in the other direction. Just take your bits to Southside and be done with it.
  22. Maybe he's just discovered he really has a GTS4!
  23. For peace of mind (especially after seeing those wastegate hoses), I would be methodically replacing ALL vacuum hoses!
  24. Not sure, mine came with the Stagea and I just had it rebuilt by Grant for a very reasonable price. Maybe ring him and ask? The benefits of a highflow are it bolts up to standard piping and externally looks like standard. He said mine is good for up to 24psi and 400rwhp which is pretty damn good for looking like factory.
