  1. Yeah you'll find the boost drops off at the very top end in most cars... Not to worry though!
  2. 1 quart is about 0.95L.
  3. Probably the safest way to thin the oil is to use some ATF. Its safe for a flush cos it still has antiwear/seal swelling (etc) additives and yeah, I'd try no more than a 50/50 dilution with normal oil. If you are a tight ass, you could try adding a litre of kerosene but it may screw up your seals...
  4. Boost controller takes about 5 minutes if its a bleeder type, but probably an hour if its the EBC type. Anyone can do a cat convertor, just buy it and cruise to any mechanic or exhaust shop.
  5. Give a few ks, and then they all make noises...
  6. Nice cruise, cool people! Thanks again for organising!
  7. Pretty much all of them. Spin it too fast, heat it up... goes hand in hand. To be safe, I'd run it on the rich side to keep the EGTs down if you like to thrash ur car a bit..
  8. NX Coupe = Joke VTIR = Not as fast as a Type R, and the Type Rs arent exactly ball tearers.
  9. LOL well the way the car is behaving now (a pig!) those cams are gonna be ripped out pretty soon..
  10. Yeah man I'm back on the streets! I broke my back installing a pair of HKS Step 1 cams into the ol S14 today. Not really happy with the results. Whoever says they are fully streetable cams are full of shit! Bullshit you get gains below 3000rpm! It idles poorly and does not like staying under 2000rpm. That means no 4th gear at 60kmh. FFS... And any attempt at tuning doesnt solve anything. Garr....
  11. Presumably you'd hook up the gauge's power wire to the ignition, so the backlight switches on whenever the car is on...
  12. Nah they are roughly the same price, just that JustJap don't sell the 270 degree versions... Hahaha.... All good, 'slong as ur happy!
  13. Problem is those ones are only the 90 degree sweep. Autogauge make the 270 degree sweeps which are alot nicer!!
  14. Why not just use the stock coils? You'll have to muck with the wiring a bit though...
  15. You can get HID kits for pretty much any car. Just specify the bulb you use...
  16. It definitely cant hurt to use. Especially if you can open up the gaps with them!! Also the soft rev limit looks cool... Why not install it and found out the results?? Edit- seems this Firebird gained 2 tenths at the track with one; http://mods.firebirdv6.com/msd/
  17. Save your money. You wont notice the difference in the intercooler sizes.
  18. Well I just got my car through Regency on the 2nd attempt. From my experience, so long as you fix everything from the first time round you should go through easy. The first inspector I had was a bit of a bastard. The second guy I had was real nice and laid back. Seems luck of the draw. Now I better head to the garage to start puttin back all the aftermarket bits again .... *grin*
  19. Yep the GT28RS is a 'disco potato'. I would assume its not a straight bolt up. Did he use an adapter plate? Cos they are a T25 flange normally...
  20. Trust me, theres no way you'd be splittin H2O in your tires. )) (Drawing some vague knowledge from uni chem) H2O just wont spontaneously split in 2 on its own without some sort of chemical or metallic catalyst or current. To put this into perspective, to get N2O (Nawwss) to split into nitrogen and oxygen spontaneously, it needs to be exposed in combustion chamber (1000C) for it to give you the O2 to give you the 'go'. Unfortunately even so, this aint the same with H2O. Tyres at 1000C anyone? Haha Boiling water just means the water has changed from a liquid to a gaseous state. It doesnt mean the water is splitting up, or it wouldnt be water anymore would it? (Ie water vapour)
  21. Yeah on alot of cars I've seen, the knock can actually register a reading at idle. Its nothing. Real knock on the SAFC is when you start to get values well over 50. You might just need to recalibrate the knock base reading...
  22. IMO, Its not a good idea to wind up the timing too far on the low load points beyond what you've started with. Your engine could be lightly pinging, but the amplitude may not enough to trigger the sensor to pick it up cos of the overall light load. But this light pinging would be occuring all the time which would cause long term damage..
  23. On most nissans you have to actually unplug the TPS harness (from the unit itself) and then the ECU will revert to base timing. I'd be looking into that... (This is because most ECUs runs different timing at idle than base)
  24. Yeah the stockie wiring is pretty hopeless for aftermarket pumps which easily demand >10amps when the pressures go up. I take it you have a Bosch? The surging gurgling sounds didnt go away when I rewired mine unfortunately.
  25. I wouldnt blindly start changing the fuel pressure without a gauge. But yeah everything will become richer as pressure goes up, but if you have O2 sensor compensation turned on, light load operation shouldnt be affected.
