  1. Do you think you really need to run the 02 sensor with the Power FC etc? Why not disconnect it and turn it off in the settings and then just have the car tuned without it?
  2. And i'm still going! *energizer bunny* Get some vids for us Joel.
  3. Yes so do I, just put an RB25DET into R32.. and used the Old AFM
  4. Go the PowerFC.. i have seen nothing but loss of hair with the Autronic, or Alltragic as some call it. I'm sure the Autronic is good if you can get someone to install and tune it who knows what they are doing..
  5. Awesome stuff! I get my PowerFC tomorrow, so i'm not far away from starting mine. Just a few small things, and running cooler pipes etc. :flamed:
  6. Glad to hear they are trying to get to the bottom of it for you Happymeal, as you can see I have been looking here as much as I can also, as no one down here knows anything about the Stagea. I will be installing a GTR engine in one soon, plus this information, I will know a bit about them. The numbers/lengths etc all match up to the KYB part numbers which were the FRONT for the R33 GTR. NFS9058. The R33 GTS-T part number is NFS9053. Wish I could see them for myself.. I'm sure they will get to the bottom of it though. Ben
  7. I believe the series 2 RB25 has a different AFM though?
  8. Yes over a 1000HP... if everything else in the engine can do it.
  9. Well if the extra restrictor is the same size or bigger then it shouldn't matter. If it was smaller than the restrictor in the core.. it could be not getting enough oil.
  10. Yeah should be fine, we had a water pump fly apart while driving a car quite hard.. there was no way to tell until it lost power due to there being no belt driving the altenator and stalled when we slowed down. Didn't do any damage to the engine.
  11. No you need an RB25 or RB26 Head. The RB20 has smaller bores.. You can use most of your parts, but you need to purchase an RB25DE/DET head. Not a job you really want to do all on your own, especially the bottom end, new rings and bearings etc. Please go back over the last 70 pages and have a read..
  12. He said it has a small hole, but added another restrictor. The small hole in the feed is the restrictor
  13. They shouldn't be the same.. unless they have been swapped already. Plugs are the same. Do you have the stock ecu?
  14. Oh the actual unit is normally by the rear window in the middle.
  15. It's an air reculculation/cleaner.. Suppose to filter the air in your car.
  16. T into the factory pipe to the factory sender by the firewall on the drivers side. Goes onto a tiny pipe on the back of the pleenum.
  17. If it has an ignitor, then it is a series 1 RB25DET. I believe the Series 2 coils have a built in ignitor like with the S15 SR20DET engine.
  18. I will probably run mine with a Rb20T box for a start also.. just waiting on the RB25DET box, or time to mod the RB26DETT box to 2WD.
  19. Yeah I see your point. I have all the tools, a hoist and don't have to study
  20. Be interesting to see how I go with the opposite joel. Do everything except the bottom end. I have big faith in the RB bottom end
  21. It would be great to have the manual in English for the GTR.
  22. Straight Av gas.., around 100 octane. And that is not suppose to be the best. Have to when the best fuel here is 96.. and it's no good. Be interesting to see what it would go like with some C16. It's a testament for the GTR engine though, and it has done more than a few 10's runs without failure... I would call that consistent. Not only that is was a daily driven street car.. damn I miss her A note on the Trust 6 Speed box.. we removed it from the GTR running a T88 to repair it, he couldn't run good times with it. With a stock box, he didn't have a problem running 10's. I hated driving the dog box on the street, it's just a major pain in the ass. They don't like to change at low RPM.
  23. I'm no expert on squish, so won't go into it to much. Best to go and read up on it, do a search. It's basically the shape made by the crown of the piston and the compression chamber in the head. This effects the way the flame front happens.. which can directly effect how likely your engine is to detonate and how effective the "explosion" is Sometimes you may find that by just adding a thicker gasket to lower compression, you actually get worse detonation even though this is what you were trying to combat. To do it properly head work must be done.. as I find quite a few GTR's with a larger chamber.. although i'm still not sure about how it's done..
  24. Yes every one had doubt.. even me until it did it. I was suprised with the high 10's on street tires, then it did a few low 10's. Best of 10.3. Best run on the dyno was about 410kw. I have had the engine apart so know what it has. I can't say how long it would last pushing that setup to it's max... but it's still going. I only had to replace one stock piston in it after a ring land was broken, so it even has a single second hand piston. Got another one running a T88 34D and worked bottom end. Makes similar power, has half the responce. Has done a 10.6 in full street trim. Could go a lot better with a experienced driver.
