Interesting Feedback On E85 From The Ls1 Edit Forum .
NYTSKY replied to discopotato03's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I was a bit skeptical about this fuel at first, but have heard some great factual info about this fuel from my tuner. Higher ron rating Burns colder, able to run more timing without knock showing Very consistent quality from batch to batch Cleans your fuel system, including rust from your tank. And a hell of alot cheaper My tuner is starting testing on it very soon, and wants to make sure that it does whats been claimed before he recommends it to customers. -
Surprise Official Sau Mid Year Dyno Day 16 August
NYTSKY replied to Abo Bob's topic in Events Archive
Clutch permitting, ill be there. -
Just a small vid of the car idling:
-
See you in a few hours Paul. Can i sit back and watch you change it lol
-
Man i wish i had a hoist,i hate pulling the box out on stands!!! Anyone have a hoist at a workshop i can borrow for a few hours lol
-
As long as the db level is under 90db.
-
With either of those sets of cams you cant go wrong. So pick the ones that are the cheapest and off you go.
-
Im sure he can get any piston you require, but i will double check for you.
-
The next thing on the list is a decent diff. We could hear a bit of a whine as the car was slowing down on the dyno. But ive known the diff was a bit tired. Nismo TT Pro or KAAZ 1.5 will be the options.

Thanks Brad! The E11 is a great bit of kit. So many outputs, Adam asked if i wanted the engine light to become a shift light lol

QUOTE(NYTSKY @ 11 Jul 2008, 07:44 PM) The old engine wasnt dead, infact it was very healthy and pumping out 250rwkw all day long. yeah i know it wasnt dead...it was just a sh1t stir. As you can see it wasnt a serious comment. But if you knew the half of it..... Please dont pull this thread into a bitch fight, the last thing i want to see is this thread closed. From now on if you have nothing to say on this topic DO NOT POST!

I wouldnt say "promotions for Paul" mate. This thread was made to give other members an indication of what is involved going through the process of rebuilding an engine (RB25DET). The information i put in this thread is no way geared to favour one person or business and is purely for other members to get an idea of what they can expect when doing what i have done.

All i can say it sounds awesome. Has a clean yet angry RB sound from the exhaust. HKS Hi-Power has not arrived! Im assured ill be getting it any day now. I was told that 2 weeks ago too! Was checking over the clutch situation pretty much all day. We bled the system twice and adjusted a few things, but still could not engage any gear when stationary. The slave cylinder seems to be operating fine. I called Jim today and he thinks something might be bent,he says it does not take much for a clutch not to work 100% when something is slightly bent. So i guess the box is coming off and ill be sending the clutch back for him to diagnose. I had the car running for the powersteering so we could move it around the car park easier. As they were pushing me out into the street (for the tow) i turned the car off engaged 1st and kicked it over. Rolled out onto the street and took it for a drive around the block. Suprisingly i was able to go through the gears, though down shifting was a bit tricky, and engaging 1st was only possible with rev matching and a nasty grind. But driving the thing around the block a few times made me forget the small problems and brought a big smile to my face. I was loading it up in all gears with boost climbing to about 8-9psi before i backed off. The thing just wanted to go! The boys could hear it spool from down the road So tomorrow ill be dumping the oil, changing filters and removing the wastegate. Im dredding pulling the box out (putting it back on). But it has to be done, i want to put some kms on this thing.

Yeh, is quite face changing when you hear lifter noise. And coupled with the noise of a power steering pump with no oil in it,makes for a few frantic comments lol
-
Ah cool, Ummm suprise me. Anything will be fine.
-
Thanks guys, i imagine once the good oil goes in it will make some noise on start up,but 90% of all forged motors do that. Oh yes another thing,we had a cooler pipe blow off last night. Now that the engine is MAP not AFM she still idled perfect

ENGINE IS RUNNING After spending all night at JEM the engine is finally running.Hats off to Adam for staying back and getting it started. I was a bit concerned at first, with a few rounds of engine cranking we were getting no oil pressure, and we had a really weak spark. We found that an earth was not earthed properly. As for the oil pressure, we took off one end of the turbo oil line and fed it into a plastic bottle the plan was to let the engine idle for 5 sec to see if any oil was going anywhere. To my relief within 2 oil was gushing into the bottle. Oil line back on,then first turn of the key with the fuel pump on and she fired right up! WOOHOO!! It took about 5 mins for the lifters to bleed up and after that she was puring like a kitten. So quiet for a forged motor, but i put that partially to a 5deg shop and thick oil. HOWEVER we have 2 problems: 1. The clutch is not fully disengaging and was nearly impossible to change gears. The pedal is really slack to about half travel then picks up, i need about 2-3 inches more travel to get it to disengage. 2. A wastegate issue. I asked GCG to put a spring combo of 1 bar in it,but it shot up to 18psi. Adam backed off immediately and said it looked like flattening but he didnt want to find out. We got the car in third to do a few light runs to 3500rpm to get mixtures, timing and low rpm stuff done for the run in, as we could not go any higher due to the boost problem we called it a night. It was really disappointing not to be able to drive it home because of the clutch, but atleast i know the engine sounds nice and healthy. Bringing it onto boost sounds absolutely horn.Even Adam couldnt wipe the smile off his face. So tomorrow its back to the shop, and bringing the car home on a truck was not the outcome i wanted. It pains me to think i have to pull the box out again JOY! Im guessing its either the clutch pivot or the pressure plate.Either way the car will be off the road for a while longer. Wastegate is coming off and straight down to GCG. See what they can make of it. But to some up im still very chuffed. Its taken a while to get to this point, just to hear the RB again is great. And now with the new manifolds, turbo and cat its sounds better than ever

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/HyperGear-R33-S2-Sk...1QQcmdZViewItem Send an email to this mob. However i do not know of the quality of their kits.

I was wondering when you would start this thread Johno. Top Stuff! I like the sounds of the chassis and widebody.
-
Except next time you get caught for the same EPA violation its $1000's in fines.
-
-
On our cars some Police might consider those stickers as a piss take and pull you over anyway.
-
The catch can is in place of the washer bottle. I retained the stock throttle body to keep the engine as responsive as i can,i dont see the benefit of a bigger throttle body as im not aiming for anything over 330RWKW.
