I've seen an R32 with a sticker on the back which LOOKS like a ford badge, but it actually says "FUCT"

Head Lights. Does Your Car Do This?
d0p3y replied to jrocket's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Our Accord Euro leaves both on when switched to high beam - but there are a majority of cars where it doesnt leave both on. I've never seen an R33 where the low beam stays on, theyre like that from factory - it's not required to be changed as a compliance item so your RWC guy is a clueless knob jockey who should have just passed it. -
Take the seats out and the trim apart where possible and scrub scrub scrub. Steam clean the seats a few times. Leave them out in the sun for a couple of days as well. Also use some baking soda, and finally some febreeze for good measure. Good luck with it anyway...

Smarter to buy the GTR Putting the money on the GTSt you're never going to get it back Spending the money to upgrade to the GTR you will see most of it back when you sell the GTR. GTR is a better base for mods anyway. Long term you'll get more kicks from the GTR than a modded GTSt

but.. but... they're so ugly!!

Not many are clean examples though mate, so if yours is nice and neat you've got nothing to worry about. It WILL sell and at a decent price. BMW repair costs bypass Skyline repair costs, especially gts's which are reasonable cheap to repair. BMW Insurance isn't far off Skyline either even for an older driver. Sounds like you've got your heart set on the BMW anyway so good luck with it

318i is dreadfully slow and theyre overpriced to the max for what they are... an OK car overall but there's better things around for the money. Remember with BMW's too, they do break and when they do it's going to cost you a whole lot more than most other brands to fix it as well.. BMW spare parts will milk you for every dollar youre good for and then some. Insurance is also quite high on BMW's. If the budget is quite limited (which it is by the sounds of things) I'd be staying clear of the BMW...

Another Heartbreaking Got Defected Last Nite Story.

Turns out my aunt who's a paralegal is good friends with the traffic offence expert in their office and he's extremely good at getting P platers out of things. He's offered to help me out with the matter so I'll keep yas posted. Trying the letter tactic first, doubt I'll bother with court.

I'm gonna get a dead stocker too B-Man. Like I said, the importers say things like rims will be fine but I've heard from the compliance workshops and people who've imported them directly that they don't even accept non standard rims. On the plus side I guess you can get a low KM grandpa car in perfect nick Oh.. and the guy I was speaking to is due to pick his up next week... will let you know what he has to say about it as a car..
-
I've heard that it's best to import a dead stock grandma spec car. No rims, no exhaust, etc. Somebody I was speaking to has had major issues with compliance due to non standard suspension, a set of rims and an aftermarket exhaust.....

It doesn't appear to have her name on there, just her signature. I'd definately like to raise a complaint as even my mate in the passenger seat commented how she was extremely rude. I'm not going down without a fight because I feel it's unfair to ream me in the ass like this when I honestly wasn't attempting to do anything wrong. If this goes ahead that means I need to try and last 12 months on 4 points (stuck on green P's cause I was lazy) which sucks. Oh well shit happens I guess.. damned if you do damned if you don't. Seems my tactic of selling my RX7 and getting a slow family sedan and driving responsibly to get through my P's without a fine has failed me...

Hi Guys, The other night I was pulled over by a PMS'ing troll who decided to make my life difficult. Anyways, I copped a $300 3 point fine for "Proceeding through a red light" which I indeed did not. As the story goes, I had pulled out of a service station driveway approx 5m away from the intersection line. I looked left (direction of the lights) they were green, Looked right (direction of the traffic) looked left again as I was taking off from the driveway and the lights went orange as I hit the road. I proceeded through the orange light as I didn't feel I had time to stop in time as I'd just put the pedal down to the floor to try and beat the oncoming traffic and by the time I'd shifted to the brake I would have ABS'd it and most likely landed in the middle of the intersection. Not to mention braking like that is a good way to cause rear enders. I was completely polite to the police officer. I explained that I did not feel I had time to stop, I had just pulled out of the driveway, and that I thought it would be a bad idea to SLAM on my brakes for the orange light. I told her it was my understanding that if you cannot stop in time for an orange light you are to proceed through it. A few points; 1. The police car would have been a good 100m back in the traffic and I do not believe they had a clear view of the intersection as they claim. 2. The light was ORANGE when I was in the middle of the intersection, it went red as I passed over the end of intersection line. They claim the light was red when I proceeded into the intersection. I had a passenger as whitness to this. Does anyone have any pointers as to how I can get out of this? I have never been pulled over before in my life and I did NOT proceed through a red light as they claim. If I had run a red light, or I was indeed speeding or something I'd be happy to cop it sweet but there's no way in hell I'm taking this lying down when the fine is for something I did not do! Help appreciated Ryan

Depends on the brand and type of film too.. 35% can look dark-ish. I got a reflective metal tint on my car which looks slightly darker on the outside compared to your more common 35% but it's still crap compared to 20%. If you get a metal film 20% it will look dead dark from the outside too - blk180 has it on his GTR (same brand film as mine) and it looks BLACK from outside. Don't have a good picture of it but you can see in the second pic below. ^^^ That's my 35%.. doesnt look "black" ^^^ Crappy pic but thats blk180's GTR with 20% metal tint

Is it running stock ECU ? I suspect its sensor related though..
-
20% whilst being illegal is the happy medium. It looks damned dark but most cops won't pick it. It's a bit of a bitch at night but its bareable - 5% at night leaves you no hope of vision

Yeah well I was all "cops are great" until some PMS'ing troll decided she'd book me for a red light offence the other night. That's nice and all, but 1. The light was Orange. 2. I had just put my foot down after leaving a driveway which is about 4m from the intersection line so I didnt have time to take foot off accel and slam on brakes and stop in time. 3. They would have been a fair while away as they took a few mins to catch up, therefore I don't believe they had a clear enough view of the intersection to judge whether I was too close to the line to stop or not. I was nothing but polite and explained the situation but she still had her heart set on booking me. Therefore, she can go f**k herself.

If you can, get a AM2 socket motherboard with DDR2 ram in it. If you want to futureproof, getting an AM2 motherboard is the way to do it.

haha Mount Druitt and Blacktown.. doesn't surprise me. That said I live near-ish to both these suburbs and I've never ever *touch wood* had a problem with theft or vandalism of any sort. Guess I've just been lucky. I've had more issues with theft and vandalism at my gf's joint in Bondi Jct over the past couple years than I've ever had in my suburb my entire life..... Seriously though I reckon Mt Druitt and Blacktown have high theft rates because most people around there drive old shitters which are easier to steal in the first place..

I build PC's but I won't recommend you use my company as I'll be leaving here in a few weeks and I'm not so sure they'll deliver decent ongoing support when I'm gone Seriously, don't spend $5k on a new PC. It'll be worth jack shit in next to no time. $3k should get you something pretty damn beefy. Dual Core AMD, 2G Ram, decent graphics card, nice big SATA2 hdd, and get a 24" DELL monitor for ~$1200ish from bulkbuyer. It doesn't cost *that* much to get a good PC these days....

If any of these cars do indeed exist, I would swap for the S13 for two reasons: 1. Manual 2. Turbo Auto NA R33.. forget it... I mean a CA18 ain't great but a NA auto 33 is woeful.
