  1. Pull apart your intake and have a look. Mine was full of gunk when I looked the other day, so I'm definitely going to. Just means I'll have to measure up and make sure I can fit it first.
  2. Where did you get the Nismos? I was looking at getting the QFM HPX pads, only need to do the rears for now but would prefer something with low dust.
  3. I'm actually in the process of doing this at the moment. After I saw that listing on Import Monster, I spoke to a colleague who knows Japanese, and she passed the information on to a friend in Japan to be the go between person. At the moment it sounds like it'll be about $600-700 if I supply an ECU, including removing the speed limiter and throttle restriction. They'd prefer to have the whole car, but obviously that's not possible. I'll keep everyone posted, but I might want to borrow that ECU sooner rather than later Craig
  4. What catch cans are M35 owners running, and where are you mounting them? I was looking at a nice Greddy one on eBay for around $100, looked like it should fit up against the battery enclosure?
  5. Nope, RS. Didn't want an AR-X, not a big fan of the plastic bumpers, and reading here made it sound like it was a hassle to change the suspension.
  6. I'm keen, depends on the day though, May is pretty full for me
  7. Big day today. Headed out to AM Performance, who are planning to start producing M35 exhaust systems. Donated my car as the development car, should be getting underway in the next couple of weeks. Then headed around to my dad's workshop and put the car on the hoist for a service. Was very interesting, gearbox and engine took no where near as much oil was I was expecting even though they were drained. Have found a couple of things that need fixing through. Rear disks need machining and rear pads need replacing, and need a catch can. Couldn't find any reason for the weird noise that I get occasionally when I lift off, so sounds like new blow off valve too... And after all that, I forgot to put on the intake spacer I got from Craig! Edit: And no bloody LSD!
  8. Now THAT looks good! But the silver one isnt right, and the like Alex said the lines dont match up properly...
  9. We were talking about doing the hills on the next SA cruise... Thanks heaps Dale, glad it worked out in the end, even if there were a few stragglers...
  10. Make/Model: Nissan Pintara R31 Wagon Year: 1987 Kilometers: 154,500 Transmission type: Auto Engine: CA20 Colour: White Modifications: See below Roadworthy Certificate: N/A Registered: Yes, till 14/5/2011 Accident History: None that I'm aware of Asking Price: $2,000 ono Location: Prospect, SA Contact Details: Ryan, 0410 131 658 Other Comments: We've used this car since late 2007 to travel to motorsport events for filming, etc. There are no real modifications, but repairs etc which have been done include: - Full bottom end rebuild 10,000km ago (have receipts) with tune - New distributor 10,000km ago - New Pedders Comfort Gas suspension 10,000km ago - R31 Skyline steering rack 10,000km ago (can be rebuilt, R31 Pintara can't) - Sandblasted and polished Bluebird SSS wheels with Kenda Komet SPT-1 tyres (~10,000km old, good tread) - Pioneer deck with front audio input - JVC 4 channel amp - Polk Audio 6.5" front splits - Jaycar Response 6x9s with spacers (never actually fitted) - Subaru WRX front buckets - Autotechnica leather steering wheel - New battery 3 months ago - New O2 sensor (not fitted yet) - Tow bar - 14" Steel Wheels (supplied on request) - K & N Pod filter with adaptor (not fitted) Regularly serviced and maintained every 5,000km Car has been well looked after and maintained over the 4 years I've owned it. Drives extremely well, and engine rebuild has livened up the engine. I've upgraded to a M35 Stagea, and don't have room for this, so despite the sentimental attachment the car has to go. Note: Rego is due on 14/5, and if purchased before this date I'll drop the price to $1700 to avoid paying rego, and in addition to all the above will put a full tank of fuel in.
  11. Now I'm really confused then... why list it as an auction at all? Sounds like a good option, just not worth going through the auctions. Have to see if I can find another ECU first...
  12. I use the 100RON, seems ok, not sure if the economy is worsened though, ethanol is supposed to have worse fuel consumption. If only we had e85 easily accessible here...
  13. So that particular one is a swapover, and I have to send my ECU to Japan?
  14. No, you have to use the shipping calculator.
  15. That's pretty much what I worked out, and I'm not after big power really. I'll try and get an ECU upgrade, maybe just a reflash even, then worry about a piggyback when the arguments in the Stagea section are finished and we have a winner Why was the V35 so much bigger in the states than Japan? Seems odd...
  16. Can someone who speaks better Engrish than me tell me, is this an ECU that is already G-Zone flashed? http://www.importmonster.com.au/view?url=http://page5.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/e100001668&thumb=http://f0.auctions.c.yimg.jp/img183.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/users/6/5/2/7/gzone_jp-thumb-116093680237454.jpg&title=G%20ZONE%20BIG%20NEW%20NM35%20VQ25DET%20PRO%20SPEC%20ROM Sounds like G-Zone ROM isn't bad, but Nismo is the holy grail, and just as hard to find!
  17. I think tomorrow is the last day, are we full yet? Got my order in!
  18. I wish it was... sounds like the easiest option... Trying to see if I can get a tuned ECU as a first step, Jetwreck speaks highly of Nismo ECU wih Emanage, would love to go the same. HKS is just too expensive and no tuners in SA
  19. is that from iron chef? saw that on his web site and it looked awesome, went with mine because I was a wanker and wanted sunroofs! good luck with it!
  20. If only there was a sway bar group buy going at the moment...
  21. Yeah I guess, but that all sounds too hard, you have to go to court, wait ages, etc. Much easier to just claim with your insurer. If you have the details for the person who hit you, they'll sort it out with no hassles to you, and they'll deal with getting the money out of AAMI. If you have the details, it doesn't count as a claim against you when it comes round to renewal time. If you don't, i.e. someone hits you in a car park and bolts, then unfortunately it does
  22. Maybe its in their terms and conditions? Apparently they're dicks to deal with, from a customer and other insurance company point of view. I've never used them for anything, so I don't know what they're like from that point of view. I believe some insurers have in their policies that you have to get your car repaired by one of their authorised repairers. Easiest way is to just deal with your insurer. I've done that and its been a lot easier.
  23. You'll be getting my money shortly. I've been waiting for a pay rise that comes through Wednesday. I'll be grabbing one of everything as discussed. Money will be transferred Thursday morning just scraping in! What's delivery time expected to be like?
  24. I'm not Victorian, but I saw this come up and chased it up for you. My girlfriend works in motor insurance for an insurance company, and according to her this is correct, if you go through AAMI you have to use their repairer. However you can put in a claim with your insurer. Because you have all the details, it won't effect your premiums, because they can just collect their costs from AAMI. AAMI are notoriously awful and will try and bully you, but don't worry about it, just deal with your guys and it'll be all good.
  25. Yeah I read page 1, but I'm not a mechanic, so it may as well be in Japanese to me! Sounds like the Silk Roads have a higher spring rate so will probably be a bit firmer, but that doesn't necessarily translate to better... Some cheap second hand Tiens on there too. Sea is fine but IM wanted to ship it to Melbourne, which doesn't help me
