yep.. its all good. another great day at the skid pan! John, u are more than welcome (like everybody else) to skid anytime u can book in.. Biff Barker.. that u eddy? ya, that car is super, i want it. it has SOOOO much grip! Come anytime u can man. I know ur busey, but make sure u fit it in ok!

The only way to secure a spot is to pay, only then it is guareented. Nobody who has paid has been turned away, EVER. So, pay for a date and know that ur in. If for some odd reason you can't make it, give me some notice a I should be able to get somebody to buy your spot, or you can opt to sell it to one of your mates. By doing this, its stops guys backing out in the last minute and leaving me with a huge bill! But you are more than welcome to come to any skid day i run.. even if you only want to support a mate!
-
you gonna skid at the SAU days as well? and Lars has a day.. so, if you were megga keen, you could do all 6!
-
I'm in for all 6 skid days.. nar nar nar-nar na! John, u did see the light. It was good to see you FINALLY get what i've been telling you! precision foot control saves you heaps of hard work and makes u look megga cool! John I'm gonna PM u about your car setup! By this time next year you should be driving 250% better than on sat! We will be dropping car numbers back to only 14cars like last year. So, spots are goin to become even more scarse, maybe i should auction them off on ebay! ha ha ha... If anybody wants in, NOW is the time to jump. i thought i had 8 cars booked in for the rest of the year.. but with John in, hmm that only leaves 4 spots on the remaining 2 skid days! Sorry Eug, but that day totally booked out on the weekend!
-
If i were you, i would book early. I have already pointed 4 people guys in the direction of RevHead.. powerslides are heaps of fun! check out my threads in the events section for all the info and goss

ya little bugger.. i just couldn't quite get the power down fast enough. but it was a good win man. See you next year.. yea? Slap some of those bundy boys in the head and tell them to go skidding or else! LOL. That was seriously an awesome day. everybody drove well. didn't run outta food or drinks.. man i would just love to do another day like that next weekend! My wife would strip my car and sell it on ebay.. but i think it would be worth it. lol

Ok guys. the first date for next years skid season is already full with 2 spare cars. I have also got 8 cars booked into the other 2 days. that only leaves 6 spots! most of next years skid season is already booked up.. The bundy boys think that they are goin to easily fill up their day. I beleive they already have 10 cars! So, if your reading this and want in, i recommend you do something right now. Ohh today was the best skid day I have run to date. Great people, some new cars, some oldies, some girls who skidded very well.. what a total blast! Lars in his R33 won the season trophy against Leigh in the Supra by only 1.6 seconds.. Cody won the shoot out, he was very tidy and performed well. Eddy in his new GT skyline won the time trial. by a massive margin! he learnt very quickly and drove very smoothly.. excellent for a new skidder!

You skid addict! Read the thread! its at the top!

Daneil, if you want to skid around, do some power slides and stuff, then i suggest you check out the skid days i run for SAU. Ask anybody who has been for their veiw. We also do a techinical section in the arvo. Its not rocket sceince, but its still good learning.!

ha ha ha.. the good old list! we have already started on next years list for the Gympie crew! I will chat with u later Lars about some of the Maryborough and Harvey bay cars... ohh, if your from that area, PM Lars. I imagine that the spots will fill very early. i have already got 7 definates for next year! After tomoz's skid session, i spose there wont be many left..!
-
ohh, it has 115000 km. I have owned the car since 61 000

R33 series 1, M-spec. It has a top mount Garrett GT3040R turbo, 45mm Turbonetics external Race gate, Apexi pod filter, speed & boost limiter removed, Fmic, heavy duty clutch & lighten flywheel, Apexi FC, 17's, momo steering wheel, timer, guages, upgraded brake pads with cross drilled rotors... modified intake manifold, adjustable castor bushes, adjustable rear camber bushes, pineapples.. Factory sun roof, big stickers! 4 inch exhaust from the turbo to the cat, 3 inch cat back. the cannon has a silencer as well. remote lock, immobiliser.. I have onwed the car for 6 years. It has been fun, but my wife is very keen to extend our family, so i am looking to get a wagon for her. Yes, i will be buying another imported turbo'ed car, but sadly the R33 just will not be big enough.. I have spent lots of time sorting the car out, it handles very well, has lots of grip and is a fairly well rounded car. I have not managed to put it down the quater mile or onto a circuit.. but i want to! It has only ever been really driven on the skid pan.. those who have been to a skid day with me will telll you how i treat it.. $16 000 here is the car in action early last year.

Jesus would probably tell you to move out, and leave you parents bee... havn't they suffered enough?

In The Roadcraft course that i did, I only drove my car. Like i said, they covered just about everything there is to know.. heaps of stuff about keeping alive on the road as well. There was plenty of info about driving smoother, skid control, dealing with under and oversteer. Where to put ur hands, seat & feet. where to look, what to look for, how to feel.. yea.. lots of cool stuff. Even if you think you know how to drive, i suggest you do it! you can ring them for all the info u want on (07) 54 828833

It is the 'base' course. however my instructor freind will definatly enlighten you heaps and teach you stuff that u didn't know that you really should. He is very much a race oreinted person, who has been around long enough to know what does and doesn't work. He is a great teacher and good freind. If he can't teach you a fair bit of stuff, he will probably quit his job! Well, thats my opinion anyhow! I know i learnt heaps and sharpened up alot more. If you want a taste of what he knows, book into the next skid day that I'm running for SAU next year. check out my thread in the QLD events section for details.

Roadcraft are currently doin a 'gift of life' course for $300 normally $430! This is the same course that i did.. They do sometimes do more advanced stuff.. but most havn't done the base course..
-
I can give u something.. The instructor who provides technical info for my skid day was the guy who did the course.. I got to pick his brains a bit.. it was funny watching the looks of the 17 year old wonna be cool drivers. It was a great 2 days..
-
when u find some details.. PM me will u! My mate has a TT600 for next to nothing.. I am wondering if it will do the job if i gear it down a bit! But a bigger engine is always so much more tempting.. and then i can add some boost to her! Hmmm, a boostin buggy.
-
ok, I'm after a large motorbike engine for a project dune buggy.. 750cc or bigger, water or air cooled. 2cyl or 4, any make. Must be chain drive, be running and have a reasonable, working gearbox attached. If u have a written off bike and want to sell the engine, now is a good time. So, tell me what u have, and how much u want for it, and what comes with it! cheers

You don't normally see people talking about these courses. So, i thought we should rate them! I am keen to do a higher level course. The course I did was insightful and very useful. They said that people who do their courses are at about 60% less chance of having a serious accident. I think they are probably correct! Anyway, I rate the ADEC 1 & 2 courses at a 9.5/10 I didn't give it a perfect 10/10 because I thought that it could have had a little less speal and a bit more 'wheels turning' content. There was heaps of driving, but I'm just hard to please!

Ok, for those that don't know me, I run the skid days at the skid pan in Gympie. during the skid days I get a Roadcraft instructor to teach the drivers some of the finer points of driving smoothly. As I am always wanting to be the fastest car out there , I thought it would be very useful if i did a course. That would help me be smooth and quick, but also allow me to help the instructor do his job better. The course was a 2 day affair (totally beats work!) and covered skid control, under and over steer, cornering, braking in the wet and dry and proper use of your eyes and much more. Some insurance companies give a 10% discount for a completed course! I was taught many things I was already aware of, and many other things I didn't really notice. The best part was, I gained way more car controll and I was very smooth by the end of the 2 days. Roadcraft do a wide range of courses to cater for different levels of drivers. I suggest that if you havn't done one, do it ASAP! If nothing else, I am sure it will help u improve ur lap times!

I know it seems obvious, but i prefer import cars! At least bring a car with some real HP! I do have a few regulars cars that are powered by bent eights who skid very well. So if you cant bring your toy, take your mates! But leave your sisters lancer at home.. It has been seen a number of times where large horsepowered cars don't skid quite as well as some lower figure cars. So don't think that u need 450hp to play. A standard skyline is a great start.. anything more than that is just more fun. Being wet concrete, it doesn't seem to matter if you have 120 or 420 hp, all the skills are the same. Tyre wear is minimal, and I don't even bother swapping my street rubber. Oct 13 is the last skid day for this year, and it is goin to seem like FOREVER before next years skid season starts.. but we will all just have to wait it out in the pool!
-
These are all the skid days that I am running next year. I would really like to do more, but I have some time issues.. Yea I thought i would give the bundy boys some play time! LOL.. I'll have a bit more of a talk with Lars when he rocks up to the Oct 13 skid day.. There is a bit of interest from a few Maryborough cars as well. It should be a great day. As always, looking forward to seeing the SAU crew and have some laughs. Maybe it'll rain again! I really enjoyed the whole skid season.. except the last one where i was dog tired! but I'll blame Ska for that one!

Ok, I have finanlly sorted out all the skid dates for next year! 15 March - Gympie Crew 10 May - SAU 14 June - Bundy Crew 12 July - Gympie Crew 20 Sept - SAU 18 Oct - Gympie Crew Everybody is welcome to attend the Gympie Crew's skid days. Contact [email protected] for bookings. The SAU days will be organised by RevHead (or the new President) and as usual you will need to be a paid SAU member. Contact RevHead for details and bookings. He has let the odd non-member in! The Bundy Crew skid days are being organised by my mate Lars. There will be cars from Bundy, Hearvey Bay and Maryborough. There will be a price rise due to a rise in the hire of the skid pan complex. This can not be avoided. I expect the price to rise to about $120 per car. As normal for my skid days, your entry fee entitles you and one freind to free tuition, BBQ lunch and free soft drinks all day! The skid day is 8am-4pm. lunch is eaten on the run between goes. Tuition is built into the day as part of the day. Our tuitor is a qualified driving instructor. Feel free to ask any questions. Feel free to ask other guys who have been skidding for their opinion..! I have marked all my previous skid day posts with the blue question mark. I did this so it is easy to track.. check them out! Any other Q's?
