i know this is an old thread.. however.. the info above is not the best way of doing this job. The best way is to weigh the car at each wheel while you do it. I say this because i have seen cars that measure perfectly on the guard to rim measurement, but chew tyres at a different rate to that to which would seem normal. Some people do drive harder in one direction and so chew tyres more on these sides, roads travelled and the route you take all add to this, but sometimes things just dont add up... and this is why, cars are made to a standard. some cars are near on perfect.. some are average and some are right on the edge of being out of the standard range. this goes for squareness and pannel shape. So if you have a car that is not quite perfect and measure your suspension from that.. well you are stuffed! I know i am taking this to the extreme end of this topic, but.. It is good to know that if your car is not balanced correctly, it can be dangerous to you and your car. To to mention very harmful to your tyres. After all this height adjustment is done.. get a new wheel alignment! every time YOU adjust anything on the cars suspension, it will change the camber, toe and castor of your car. Set it once, and leave it alone..

y would you want to remove this? Any half decent driving instructor will tell you to jam your left foot into that thing so you can feel the car better while driving hard. It is the only 'solid' link between you and the car. I strongly urge u seek more info about this

I've got a special tool for aligning the clutch. It works EVEY time perfectly! It is very easy to use.. idiot proof (prolly y ALL my mates borrow it!)lol Well.. its an input shaft from a R31/VL 5sp manual gearbox. It still has the bearing on it.. but it fits my RB25 and my mates RB20 with no issues. the right tool for the job! Cost me NOTHING! i just asked my local wrecking yard if they had a busted box.. he said "you find it.. and pull it out.. and its yours free. If i look its $20"
-
saw a korean snot box thing today.. bad enough ehh. total stocker.. plus the owner thought that the factory didn't fit anywhere enough guages.. as i passed it, i spotted a monster tacho and it had 4 freinds! All on the dash. aaarrrghh glud they are too chaep to buy a skyline!

love ya thread Geoff.. I used exhaust heat wrap.. Cos i already had a massive roll of it! I had considered the wetsuit option a few times.. that would spin people out when they looked at it!lol Speaking of heat soak.. I wrapped ALL of my aircon tubes in the engine bay with high quality conduit i got from a truck shop. The suff comes in 7 different sizes... So, i managed to scam a few odd bits of different sizes and put 3 layers of conduit over the tubes. Really helped the heat soak into the aircon after a boost session! The stuff come unsplit, and looks megga factory too boot. My 4inch dump pipe is just a finger width from the aircon connectors in the fire wall and the conduit has only just changed shape a small amount.. and it gets VERY VERY hot there! Conduit is still shiny 1.5 years later! just thought some of you might wonna know how to make the aircon a little cooler while your chasing heat soak issues!

I know 1 of the local cops here in Gympie loves to hide.. I saw him parked BETWEEN 2 shops the other day on the highway with his speed gun out. The fat bugger was perched behind a new powerpole. DRIVE SLOW THROUGH THIS TOWN. they will get you... Dirty, dirty tricks. We also have a beautiful red mazda 6 undercover car! He will launch it at the lights until he hits 60! then nabs ya! saw him get an SS last week.

ya.. I want my 2 min back as well. If u want to impress us, try not teaching us how to suck eggs! you ever even driven a porsche? They are a bit twitchy sometimes, but if u use your BRAIN more than your right foot, they are quite a strong bit of gear.. its very easy to see that porsche was building a real sports car, for drivers. Not over confident weeeeners.. on topic: I got sent a pic of a Gold MR2 to my fone 2 days ago. This car was in brizzvegas.. intercooler ABOVE the hatch! One way of getting fresh air to it

Please note, This is not my work! I have no control over its accuarcy. But i thinks its good. Some new plugs may not be on here.. but it should get you pointed in the right direction.. *some fields are optional & others have multiple characters: Lets do a breakdown of what the codes on an NGK sparkplug mean: This is a typical spark-plug code: BCPR6ES-11 Now we can break it down.. The feild breakdown is like this. Feild 1 - 'B' Feild 2 - 'CPR' Feild 3 - '6' Feild 4 - 'E' Feild 5 - 'S' Feild 6 - '11' Feild 1: Thread diameter; A=18mm B=14mm C=10mm D=12mm Feild 2: Construction; C=hex size 5/8 K=hex size 5/8 with projected tip (ISO) M=compact size P=protected insulator R=resistor SD=surfacedischarge for rotary engines U=semi-surface discharge Z=inductive suppressor Feild 3: Heat Range; 2=Hot ~ 10=cold Feild 4: Thread reach; E=19mm F=tapered H=12.7mm(1.5") L=11.2mm(7/16") Feild 5: Firing end; A,B=Special design C=Special ground electode G=racing GV=racing use V type H=half thread K=2 ground electrodes L=half heat range LM=lawn mower M=2 ground electodes for rotary N= Special ground electrode P=platinum tip Q=4 ground electrodes R=delta ground electode S=standard 2.6mm ceter electrode T=3 ground electrode V=fine wire centre electrode gold palladium VX=platinum tip (high performance) w=tungsten electrode X=booster gap Y=V-groove center electrode Feild 6 Numbers after the dash; 8=0.8mm plug gap 9=0.9mm gap 10=1.0mm gap 11=1.1mm gap THERE IS NO 12.. 13=1.3mm gap 14=1.4mm gap 15=1.5mm gap 20=2.0mm gap Simple ehh? teenagers by % die at a larger rate than they should. Perhaps i should have been a little more clear. sorry. Sucks when others do the wrong thing. Next time treat them all as total idiots who cant drive.. It might save you from being hit again. Give yourself more room and double check that they are doing what they should or what they are indicating to do!

I have a big problem with the wires for 2 reasons.. 1: there is no divider to keep the wires the same distance apart during an impact because they tear out of their retaining posts. Check out the really long sections near gympie! They will easilly tear your car apart when they spread, or worse. 2:Serious lack of maintaince. If they have already been strained, what good are they next time? do u reuse conrod bolts? I have seen a proto type similar to that of armco that flattens to conform to the vehicle shape on impact. It is mounted onto collapseable bars about 500mm long before they inturn are mounted to a post in the ground. Once again, anything that deforms its own shape is going to soften the blow, but it has to be maintained. If you crash harder than the rail will deform, you will be caught by the posts.

yeah.. that sure is a great pic! what is it with excels anyhow? My mate used to live on a corner where 1 would cruise past really slowly (i think to check out the import cars parked there!) and it had such a horrid drone that when the auto changed into second it would wake up their baby! Now, we all drive import cars with 3 inch exhausts.. we dont wake the kid up! Man it was just plain nasty. She rang the cops one saturday after they did about 7 laps past! I havn't seen that car anywhere in town since!
-
I wonna see those pics Lars! u skid demon..
-
How the..? nice crunch! dja notice the veiw in the mirror? who took the foto? I saw a civic today with Vic plates that had twin exhausts.. but it gets worse. he was shopping or something, cut INTO the bonnet were 3 gauges! Kinda like a reversed upside-down chinese triangluar air scoop. It looked stupid, i bet he couldn't read them either. Is there cheap crack for sale somewhere or what? How is it possable that so many idiots can do so much dumb stuff.. and still manage to breath?
-
All the above mentioned idiots and their cars really don't help the Red Neck cause! yea.. Happy Australia day everybody.. take it easy. I got invited over to the skid pan yesterday to see some of the local sil's, 180's & 200's go at it.. I was totally shocked at one 200sx owner who blew up his SR20! ..and i do mean blew up. rod out of block kind of blown up!! it started to make a big end noise.. rather loudly. The SR was not happy, so the smarty thought it needed a rev tune, that made the SR even more unhappy. he went back onto the pan and gave it what for. As he left the pan it gave up the courage to live and grenaded itself out of this world. Damn, what is wrong with some people? R wrecking yards giving away SR's? I just cant understand y anybody would want to do that to their car? Instead of just having to dismantle the bottom end, now it looks like he needs a whole new engine.. Perhaps we should all pitch in and buy the lad a 4cyl VOLVO!
