    Skid Day Photos

Daz mate.. This is the first skid pan day I've run this year! What a quality day! Great foto's Brett. C u next time mate. I dunno about you guys, but when I got home, I was totally stuffed . As u can see, there was a mix of cars.. a mix of ages and a mix of the sexes. I didn't drive as good as I could of, but with a wrapped ankle that was still swollen, I did ok! Sorry for being a bit short in the morning, the pain killers were just kicking in! The old Val ute re-broke a control arm and the 180 would have been treated better if somebody had stolen it from the owner and his freind! I hate seeing that kind a abuse... but it was his choice to continue with the mindless thrashing. They where asked to be kinder to the poor little thing. Anyhow, when I track down the paperwrok from Grant, I will post up the results in the Qld events section.
  2. Yea i wasn't there.. but I was 99% sure there was no quick fix to turn it back to 2wd from 4wd. maybe y it spat the auto out? anybody else dropped a stock auto at 300ish hp? I don't think the dyno guy/owner is telling the whole story..

and furthermore.. Lars (nissan-R33) is still taking bookings for the bundy - maryborough (or any other car) day that I'm running. PM him asap! That list will be full soon if it isn't already. Look for his thread in the events section! sorry to hi-jack again. As you all can see.. skid pans are popular!

PM sent 85URK! Anna, u want to get on a list? they chang lots.. so get onto a list and ur at least in for a chance! this skid day alone.. I've had 5 cars pull out. 1 was stolen and recovered, 2 break downs, 1 work commitments and the last is overseas! PM me for interest, I'll add your name to the list! You just might hit the jack pot!
  5. I had a rough arvo.. reading the replies really added a big smile to my face. It doesn't seem to matter how crap a day i have.. I read this thread to quickly realise that at least some of us still have a great sence of humour and that (hopefully) none of us own anything like the stuff we are all laughing at! Dont mess with the pink seat covers Noel! my wife loves her 121 bubble with bright pink seat covers! And i proudly drive it.. but then again.. I'm more secure about my sexuality then some I would not advise you let onto her that its crap.. cos i wont even go there! & she helps with the BBQ for the skid days.. u might get hairball in ya burger buddy! Now as for the towel rails.. I saw a red VH commodore with a VERY sad attempt of a port rack on the boot lid. I pass the car nearly every week in the industrail estate near the gympie skid pan. I smirk EVERY time i pass it.
  6. 150 grand for a V8 commodore..? Nissan has indicated that is looking at selling the all new GTR for 160 grand.. stuff the whole i need a car to do a job.. I'd be going for style with horsepower! But, at least Holden have acknowledged that it needs to really improve its products. I think Fords build quality is actually better than holden, but holden has more appeal. If i were to buy a car on what the family requires.. (thats not gonna happen ANY time soon!) then I would spend the big bucks on a V8 diesel cruiser. Cos then u go camping.. rock climbing and run over all the said cars above when u want a car park.. horses of courses. But none of my mates better buy one.!
  7. Dave: We do the skid days at Gympie. 2 hours north of Brizzy.. This is a clip from early 2006! This was in the morning to 'warm up'! for any Q's, feel free to PM me. I will happily answer anything..
  8. My mate is an automatic mechanic. he was asked to fix an auto from a 4wd stagea. apparently the car is making over 300hp at the tyres on the dyno and then the auto gave up and fried.. Cos i drive an import he thought i would know all.. but i don't. Do any of you? To save time can you guys help? 1: can you run an auto 4wd stagea on a 2wd dyno without pulling front shafts out? 1A: what if anything does it kill? Some one told him that u can pull a fuse...? 2: anybody out there had same auto problem? what did you do to fix it? 3: what size converter stall do most of you guys (that don't have a stock turbo) run in RPM? 4: trans cooler size. From many years of playing with auto's he has a pritty good idea, however he would like to crossreference that with people in the feild to get a good strong setup first time. Thanks. Aaron
  9. For those that dont know.. 3intheback has a stagea.. U would not be the only stagea! All welcome to come for a look.
  10. Ok, Its been awhile since I ventured into stagea land.. 15 March - Gympie Crew This Date is booked out! 10 May - SAU 14 June - Bundy Crew This is almost booked out! 12 July - Gympie Crew This Date is booked out! 13 Sept - SAU 11 Oct - Gympie Crew This Date is booked out! Everybody is welcome to attend the Gympie Crew's skid days. Contact [email protected] for bookings. The SAU days will be organised by RevHead (or the new President) and as usual you will need to be a paid SAU member. Contact RevHead for details and bookings. He has let the odd non-member in! The Bundy Crew skid days are being organised by my mate Lars.(Nissan-R33) There will be cars from Bundy, Hearvey Bay and Maryborough. price: $120 per car. As normal for my skid days, your entry fee entitles you and one freind to free tuition, BBQ lunch and free soft drinks all day! The skid day is 8am-4pm. lunch is eaten on the run between goes. Tuition is built into the day as part of the day. Our tuitor is a qualified driving instructor. One on one tuition is available to anybody who asks at no extra cost, in or out of your car! Feel free to ask any questions. Feel free to ask other guys who have been skidding for their opinion..! I have marked all my previous skid day posts (in the QLD Events section) with the blue question mark. I did this so it is easy to track.. check them out! I know it seems obvious, but i prefer import cars! At least bring a car with some real HP! I do have a few regulars cars that are powered by bent eights who skid very well. So if you cant bring your toy, take your mates! But leave your sisters lancer at home.. It has been seen a number of times where large horsepowered cars don't skid quite as well as some lower figure cars. So don't think that u need 450hp to play. A standard stagea or skyline is a great start.. anything more than that is just more fun. Being wet concrete, it doesn't seem to matter if you have 120 or 420 hp, all the skills are the same. Tyre wear is minimal, and I don't even bother swapping my street rubber. Any other Q's?
  11. Well.. for those that are not in the know.. 3Intheback and I still run skid days in Gympie. PM me if you want to get on a list to go skidding and learn a bit of stuff. Its all the same info that Ska was goin on with. Thats all
  12. I saw some idiot in a skyline who has cut a hole in the bonnet.. ohh, that was my car! lol I saw a harley yesterday.. now, don't get me wrong, I'm NOT a harley fan. But this bike was mint! It had all the bits.. but it looked really REALLY different. very slender tank.. Massive donk, the fattest rear tyre I'd ever seen on a bike and all beautifully clothed in silver paint. It was on a ute.. sure hope it doesn't go on the road. Stone chips would totally ruin it. I actually looked for so long that I thought about turning around and chasing it to get an even better gawk!
  13. Yep.. I clear to see the add department figured u out!
  14. Col.. u only adressed one issue really.. fuel consumption.. I notice you said nothing about the mega cheap, plastic, tackie junk they call a dash.. or the never ending joke of commoncrap seats.. or the dodgy leather.. or the fact that you cant see stuff all out of it cos it has massive blind spots all over it from the huge pillars.. do i need to continue? has anybody asked about oil consumption.. tyre prices? what is standard on it.. like an LSD? go play in the corner with all the other idoits who have been overwhelmed by the mindless drivel that comes from the sales team from holden..! I do like the side pipes!

  16. hey pencil head.. (nissan R33) your looking after the cars.. Darrin says he has 7 including him! so.. minus the cars u already got.. do u need a plastic brain? as long as you get 7~8 cars.. i don't care. and no stupid silvia's, lancers or gay things like gemini's! Big blocks or big boost will always get in.. lol 8 days to go bro.. u staying the night? I'll get my super wife to make u a bed. ohh.. Bruce the booster hits 30 and is having a party that night. I mite go for a while.. u? I busted my ankle again.. u mite have do drive my car. Not likely! My msn is goin again..

Well, check out what happens in the Qld events section.. there is always something happening. and not just skid pans.. I'm running heaps of stuff this year. Most of which is booked out, but you can go on a list. I had 5 cars pull out.. so 5 cars on the list went in. simple ehh. I'm doin 2 SAU days.. this year 3 of my own local-ish cars days 1 bundy/marybgh day and now another day for a begging club... SAU does heaps of stuff. They travelled from brizvegas to do a skid day with me. and i always see cruises and drags and skid pans and drifts and dyno days and bla bla bla bla.. I'm sure u like to do somethin like that. From what i have seen of the SAU crew.. they rock! get ya name down on a list or 3!
  18. you guys are doing a great job.. I have started my project (11 months ago! lol) where i was using trumpets inside the plenum. however, I have been looking at using shower form injection. This is where the injectors are mounted directly above, facing down the inside of the trumpet. Indy cars do this. they say it helps build topend power. The idea is that the 'shower' of fuel helps capture extra air and force it into the cylinder, this also gives better atomization.. which should mean more power for the same amount of fuel.. My plan is to use a shallower plenum with similar volume, with indents in the roof of the plenum above the trumpets for the injector bosses. LOTS of work! My current problem is tring to get manifold runner length while still leaving space for the injectors. I have been measuring and calculating how well it will work if i do a plenum that sits ontop of the existing runners.. I am concerned that the 'shower' of fuel may stall with the longer bent runners. i know somebody with a flow bench, so I have not touched the project until I do more research. cos i currently have to many variables. did that hurt anybodies head? did mine!
  19. Just over 1 week to go.. If your in the neighbourhood and want to come have a look.. feel free

If you like the stid pan so much.. Why don't you PM RevHead about the skid days I run for SAU!
  21. 10 days till skid day! yeeeeeeeharrrr ohh. cody.. I will SMS those details again for you.
  22. yea.. it MAY look good.. but while us jap boys can produce better hp and fuel ecconomy.. would u buy one? and as usual.. it will rattle like on old steam train and weigh more than a steam train.. thats the only reason why they look at stupidly large engines like a 7L. Why cant they buld a 5L with a supercharger.. ohh yea. cos the mighty 'USA' has too much junk engines and parts to get rid of. Wont find one in my shed.. EVER! Just another cheap holden junker.
  23. like the title says.. I'm after a pair of rear brake pads for an R33 GTS-t. Stock performance only! Used.. half worn out.. new. Man i just don't care. tring to change the balance of my car.. my pads are working too well. Please pm me. Cheers Aaron
  24. I wouldn't bother chasing that trophy Cody.. Cos this year Wozza and I thought it is only fair if we are in the running for it. Now.. It's my little plan to have it ontop my TV ALL next year. but u can try.. One more free Sat to mod ur ride.. then skid season starts! I am very keen to see how the new points structure will work out. Did you read the bit aobut hitting cones.. minus 2 points! that'll sort the boys (and girls) out! I will not be at all surprised if i see a few negative scores after day 1! Speed is fine.. Accuracey is FINAL.
  25. While your removing that badge from the bogan.. cut up his licence and numberplates! I saw an RB20e backed by auto today. ohh the saddest part.. it was in an R33 with a full GTR body kit and a FULL set of GTR badges. The owner promptly told me how 'she flies' and 'smashes' clubsports! After I got revived by mechanic mate(cos i damn near died from laughing).. the mechanic suggested he go for a spin in mine. so.. after i hit boost and he SCREEEEAAAMS like a baby for his mama.. he asks 'whats that funny tornado sound?' I was so ashamed for him.. perhaps he should buy a camry
