Ok, I got something that'll match u up good col.. Saw, a very large caravan (bad enough) being towed by, wait for it, a Ford 32 coupe! yep, no mirrors, no idea whats goin on behind, no cares at all.. now the poor old 32 was doin a dismel 75km/h down the road and got 3 massive tank slappers goin down a large hill on the southern side of the Cooroy range! I have never seen a hot rod tow anything before... smick car.. moron owner!

ok, really tech question.. The owner is now after a shift kit..! but all our books list the 'A' transmission. Which started the whole filter problem.. Looking for a PDF file or similar on the 'B' coded transmission. Got heaps of info to mod the 'A' code box, but very little is the same on the insides, so no info can be crossreferenced to mod the 'B' code gearbox. He is starting to take a dim veiw of imports.. I just cant let that happen, he does to much good work! The other problem is that while he (and I) searches for info, time is marching on and the owner wants his box back(understandable). Even though he keeps changing his mind and changes his power target and box requirements. Anyhow, If you can help with the info for the 'B' code box, PLEASE PM me ASAP.

My wife has a hudini of a cat.. bugger can get out of a locked car! If i can convice my wife to part with the monster.. he is yours to hire for a few weeks! Seen him beat the living daylights out of/kill many things.. greyhound poodle great dane persion cat rooster 6 possums 3 foot wallaby.. 2 foot goanna man the list goes on. He is brutal, but she loves him none the less. and he has a very bad disposition about anything that comes ANYWHERE near him.. including my car! I am quite sure NOBODY, even people who are nuts would take him on.. he looks so cute, but makes hitler look tame. The vet is scared of him, gave him 6 stiches! ohh, and she calls him 'Yowie' rates are real cheap, and if you should loose the little freak, I wont be upset. It would be like loosing that meddling mother in law! PS, hope you don't loose you cat again. I know we cant keep her monster inside all the time..

ok, its been ages since i ventured into stagea land.. but I have done the adjustable cam gear! It sat on the list to do for ages, and then the parts sat on the tool box for awhile.. and all went very easy. (I was scared! nothing goes easy!) anyhow.. I have a GT3040 on my R33 S1, with most of the normal mods. I ran 4 degrees retard on the ex cam straight up. Car pulls moderatly harder now at the same point where before it was still coming onto boost. Boost comes on a about 250~300ish revs earlier and is a lot stronger in the mid range. Top end.. well, cant tell, it wheel spins 2nd (like always) and 3rd is too fast to be a responseable driver. wink wink.. This is not an accurate testomony to the cam gear, cos i also changed the wastegate pipe a little and played with the ECU afterwards. The outcome was from all 3. but before the last 2 mods, the car was stronger. hope that helps others who are not sure about the mod. Worked a treat for me! Will be doning 3intheback's stagea soon as it needs a new belt. Thanks for the work you put into this thread SK.

I suspect that nothing else has let go. All other parts seem good. The converter wore the brunt of it and gave up on the job. At least the car had the box pulled before any other nasties could happen.. All the info has just confirmed exactly what I already thought and suspected. Wrong info and a heavy foot has destroyed the poor thing.. The box goes back to the owner in a few days. wonder what happens next? Ohh, box cant go back, need a filter kit. All the part numbers and pics on the nissan list dont match the box..?? the listed filter is a stand alone item. the box has a kind of half filter with 15 (i think) bolts and is only the bottom half of a filter, the other half is cast into the valvebody. Anybody got a part number that matches what i'm talking about? Thanks guys.

great engine convo for the humble old landy! saw a mirage with shiny bits hanging out from under the door.. shiny bits ALWAYS grabs the attention.. so another look was needed. Chinese version of a name brand Jap muffler hanging in the breeze just before the back wheel. noise, and lots of it. the car was running MAGGA rich, so the back mag was black as the ace of spades! shiny front rim, charcoal back rim.. nice! Rusty utes.. hmmph, get this: An old guy i knew ages ago, was a pritty smick painter in his day. the old boy was suffering from all things related to being old and he tended to deal with this by smoking ANYTHING! (thats a whole different story!) one day i went to visit the crazy old bugger to see what he was up to and hadnt OD'ed or worse, and noticed the farm ute in the shed all taped up, and hes goin at it, like tomorrow its show time. He was short on words this day so I returned a week later... The ute was now dent free, painted in a beautiful coat of ocean blue... with rust holes. WHAT THE? So I start on the silly man. Then he rolls back in his chair and just loooooooooses it in laughter. He painted the rust onto the ute! yep. not a spot of real rust left on it anywhere, but has rust painted onto the pannels! I never got a stright anwer y he did that.. I think it was related to his smoking habbits and thinking it was a good idea at the time. needless to say the old coot could stilll paint!

i had a small miss-fire on 16psi boost with the 1.1mm plug gaps. So I changed them for 0.8mm plug gap and no more probs! Car idled a little smoother as well! that help anybody? As for the topic of tuning cars.. I got jacked off with 3 different 'tuners' who knew less about cars than I did! so i ended up doing a street tune myself with a mate to drive. This is not the ideal way to do this, its takin heaps of fuel, heaps of time and way more time again to read info from tech heads on how to do it and not blew up the engine. But the set up is very strong and goes like stink. Soon-ish i want to get it onto a dyno and see how well ive done .. I can assure you all that I am 900% smarter for doing all the above, and now 2 of my mates want theirs done for same reasons, but I want to get mine on the rollers, be in or beside the car as they do the job, and pick their brains like crazy! My ecconomy is way better, torque is great.. I just want to be able to fine tune the top end a little better.. its a project that is still drivable! Anyhow, If a shop has wronged u, dont be hostile about it. Calmly let them know that you were not impressed with their work and explain y you will not be returning. Most times the shop will be happy to try and fix the issue. Sometimes this is just not possable.. to just quietly leave.

What u on about Kody.. its true! admit it.. I rang Bendix about my brake problem, they didn't want to know about it or any other issues I had. So now i dont want to know them! I am looking at romoving the set up from my car and going a totally different brand, a brand that beleives in after sales service! Perhaps it wont spin my car around on the time trials next time.

Thanks guys.. you have all confirmed what I was 99% sure about. Looks like he might be having a gawk inside the the transfer case as well. ohh the insanity. Auto is now in 20billion bits on the surgery table.. all looks ok, bar the converter. Converter is totally dead. multi-coloured and not at all a happy looking thing anymore. It was on a 2wd dyno, and i cant for the life of me figure out how the heck this story fits together.. If a 4WD car is on a 2WD dyno.. wouldn't it climb right off the dyno? The story goes that a fuse was removed and ramped up to do power figures. so, now we all know that the mighty stagea was still in 4WD mode.. would/could it spin the fronts? might explain the fried converter! If the rears spin on the rollers, an overly power hungry dude on the loud pedal, then I would think that it would either spin the fronts or climb itself half way to a ski resort.. perhaps neither could happen, perhaps the converter was the weakest link? Its all a bit odd? Anyhow.. I'll pass the info onto the surgeon. He can fix her up, and let them at it for round two. Maybe they'll be back looking for a new front clip after it launches off the rollers at 180kph! Thanks guys.

So everybody that wasn't at the skid day understands.. the 360's we are talking about was a fully controlled 'loose' and catch exercise which consisted of a very cool 360 spin in the middle of the pan while traveling at around 60km/h across the skid pan. We all still remained on the skid pan, and nobody had an off track adventure! Can u do rapid shots with that camera Brett? that would be great if you could get a few shots in a row to show how it works. Send me a PM will you! Ok, I stumbled onto this little calculator Its not very big in size but does the best job EVER! just donwload it and save it to somewhere where it wont be lost! It is used for joining pipes of all sorts of sizes and angles: for instance If you wanted to join a 50mm screamer wastegate pipe into you 76mm dump pipe, and you wanted the WG pipe to entre the dump pipe at 30degrees, with a wall thickness of 1.2mm... you just plug the numbers into the little calculator via the 'options' menu and you can print out to real life size little pic. just cut the little pic out and tape it together around ur pipe. draw the lines onto your pipe and cut! now its not done yet.. because it takes into account for wall thickness, it has 2 lines.. solid is the inside of the pipe and the dotted is the outside of the pipe! so it fits PERFECTLY! So now you can cut once.. get it perfect and save yourself heaps of fustration! http://www.ozhpv.org.au/shed/tubemiter.htm it is limited to only 2 pipes, so you wont be building manifolds just yet! But i think with a little thought, it would not be hard to adapt to do multiple pipes.. after all, if its on paper, its easy to cut!

Col, i think that poor old fairy-lane is winning the dumbest car award hands down! I was gonna bag out an XB falcon 500 with two tone, hammer tone paint job, but thats nothing to yours. I didn't mention the Pink covers on the sale add cos my sweeter half has informed me that whatever i buy her will be getting the covers! Now i'm not scared of much, but I know better than to tangle with her when she has already decided.. Speaking of the bubble, I better get motivated about selling it.
