  1. skid pan.. hehehe.. (silly grin) = ) spinners are fun! nope, I need some too! Nuts that is nuts for the wheels..! 6 days till skid day! woooot!
  2. I once hired I legal guy, then fired his useless butt in front of the judge, walked out with a very small fine. I then got a 'court appearence bill' from the fired legal help. I wrote back and said, 'I'm an old fashioned guy, i beleive, a hard days work gets a hard days pay.' I sent him $20. he never wrote back! Stand your ground. Its your life, show some pride.. stick it to em!
  3. my car arrived 5 years ago with NO metal in the front bar area. What the heck are guys like me supposed to do? Man i dislike coppers.. and those pencil heads who think they know ALL and make the rules which condemn us... If the car is mod plated now, then it should stand down the track reguardless of the rules. it will have an engineers approval. Thats what i'm gonna do.. Thanks for the heads up! See how it pans out. Cheers

    Skyline Cruise

Man u guys are harsh. us poor buggers up here (north or Noosa) never get a good run. I would love to go.. But I'm not keen to drive to brizzy to cruise back! lol! Besides, I'm gonna be stuffed after the 2 skid days, which some of you are coming to here in Gympie..! You can bet it will be raining.. It's Gympie show. They say that only 2 shows have ever been recorded that it DIDN"T rain! Slippery roads it is! I'll see how we get on, some of us mite appear! I'll ask the local yokels! What are u planning to do in Noosa? cheers Aaron
  5. Yea the cooler on the speed way car was on the return after the fuel reg. The powers at be said pritty much the same as the engineer you spoke to... low pressure, its the hottest point in the system and will not pose any restriction to the fuel flow. Although they did want it in steel. They were concerned about its ability to be ruptured in an accident. The car never had an issue after the cooler was added. He mounted the cooler in the boot just before the fuel tank. His thoughts were that the cooler will be in less danger in there! He used a pair of 100mm computer fans for air flow. I will be following his lead when i put my bigger pump in, and adding the cooler. the twin pump idea is interesting.. I am going to be running a swirl pot, and using the stanard pump as a lift pump. I've an 070 which could be used for a primary pump. thanks for the idea. man my boot is gonna have some plumbing in it!
  6. J-boy, your the only one from brizzy at the moment.. fractured is from the coast, pm him. but grab a mate, and you can both skid! lol if it rains, it will still be on! the wetter the better! bring a rain coat..
  7. J-boy is in Fractured is in! 1 spot left! Any takers? I might give it to my wife! lol
  8. J-boy is in Fractured is in.. still 1 spot.
  9. Staffo is out.. 3 spots again!
  10. I have already made money available to buy a fuel cooler as part of my fuel upgrade. I had been watching my mates rotory. It was in a super sudan speedway car. after about 16 laps, the car would go off tune, spit and cough and loose heaps of power. Much time was spent tring to find the problem. Due to the layout of the track, it had a fair amount of light throttle cornering. One day (after being pushed off the track) he was checking for a fuel block and noticed his alloy tank was quite warm~hot. hmmm Added a davies craig auto cooler! no more problems. The cooler had to be steel to keep the officials happy. They also stated that the cooler was not permitted on the pressure side!! The car had the same outcome as said above! it was fixed! then it blew a apex seal.. i guess all that lean mixture got to it.. Big pumps and low fuel useage..
  11. My point was, any vehicle with a very strong power curve needs to be thought out.. 300kw in a standard~ish car = big trouble! rule of thumb, whatever you spend on the engine, at least tripple that, for the rest of the cars upgrades. Brakes, suspension, clutch, lsd/locker, rims, tyres.. radda radda radda..! I admire the poor fella. he has takin a brow betting from some of you, yet he persists! He knows what he wants, and is willing to spend the coin to get there.. How many of you had big plans, and all the youthfullness he has..? Keep us all posted. That way we know your still alive..! lol It's nice to see younger modders walking the same path!
  12. I think it is very interesting that the poor guy has been asking for real input, yet some of you take his quest as a stupid school boy adventure. 1. if ya do a search, there will be heaps of info for you. go for the 300kw! 2. The whole package of the car needs to be upgraded like some of the guys said.. 3. get life insurance! 4. BRAKES! BIG STINKIN BRAKES! 5. Lots of driver education. 6. big wheels don't mean real grip! Tyres are the only thing keeping you on the road, buy the stickest treads on the market! 7. More driver education.. 8. Visit some racetracks and learn your cars potential, so you don't become another dead kid in an import! 9. by now u will realise the suspension isn't coping with the power.. see an expert! other racers will point you right! Thats my 2c worth Aaron
  13. Make that 2 spots! and not very long to go!
  14. 3 spots left! any takers?
  15. Ha ha ha, I've done the old PVC, but for a different reason.. We were stuffing around with different plenums and turbo positions, and so the cooler pipes had to be moved around alot. I got sick of rewelding pipes so, PVC it was. The car made 365hp and the PVC worked well. It was only ever a short term 'fix' so we could try a few different things and route the piping a few different ways. The owner of the car is a plumber, he thought it was very funny, even though he suggested it! The heat did get to the pipe on high boost, so he braized together a copper pipe cooler setup until he got some alloy pipes made. He sent the PVC pipe 'kit' to some place in melbourne i think, who coppied the design and made the alloy pipes. The best thing, we didn't pay freight twice. they binned the PVC cooler pipes and sent the new pipes back! If you can keep the heat away from the pipe, and not get to much compressor temp, the humble PVC works well.
  16. I talked to my panel beater, he is keen to start my project, but i still need a duct. Can anybody help?
  17. how odd.. So, just to get this right, the waste gate is wired so the flapper is in the open postition.. Then there should be no way that thing should be climbing in boost pressure reguardless of where u get the signal from. arrghh.. question, can the wastegate actually 'open' all the way? I mean is it only opening say half way or two thirds? Are you sure there is nothing in the wastegate dump pipe that is blocking gas flow? well thats all i got! not much help huh?
  18. only 3 spots left.. If your interested.. you know what to do
  19. Only 3 spots left.. If your interested.. u know what to do!
  20. I still have not been able to secure a duct yet.. Although I'm awaiting foto's from noy.. Anybody else?
  21. Looks like Staffo is in!
  22. purge it? You don't need to purge it if you get your penitration right. As long as you don't have dags on the inside of the pipe, you will be fine. the system looks good!
  23. Cheers, I sent them an email.. see what happens.
