Replacement Box For Gtr With Engine Mod
GTS4WD replied to Dohmar's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Save yourself a bucketload of money and drop in a second hand GTR box. GTR boxes should not be rooted with only 220kw.. Rb20 boxes shit themselfs and do in bearings and strip gears at that power, not GTR boxes Perhaps previous owener just abused it? How do you drive it? Heal and toe? Double clutch? thats my 2c -
wow.. never knew there were ceffies with ATTESSA.. I think I found my new porn! Was it a personal import? is 'cefiro attesa cruising' the model name? thats just sex!

mmkay.. so why the buldges? Did your NEO head have these? What is the diffrence between the 34 and 33 RB25 heads then?
-
Well then what does NEO stand for? As far as I am aware, NEO VVL goe hand in hand.. What is the NEO technology in the R34 heads then?
-
Nissan Ecology Oriented Variable Valve Lift and Timing (commonly known as VVL) is an automobile variable valve timing technology developed by Nissan. VVL varies the timing, duration, and lift of valves by using hydraulic pressure switch between two different sets of camshaft lobes. - Also Known as NEO - Hence the 'NEO' engine cover on R34's. There are HUGE power figures that can be extracted out of these engines. You can also get; SR16VE (found in VZ-R. Its an N15 pulsar with ~150 NA KW - Common in NZ) SR20VE SR20VET (Jap spec X trail) There are poeple that are pulling out 200 NA KW out of 2L 4cyl's

VCT or VVL? Because I know R34's have a VVL (variable Valve lengthening) heads. And I have noticed on R34 RB25DET's they have the bulges at the back of the head (closest to the firewall). The head I just bought has these same buldges at the back of the head. My Rb25 out of a staggy/R33 GTS4 does not have them. R33's do not have VVL technology either. So Im curious to see if the head I bought has VVL. And if so.. how do I "fuel" it for a 3L build?

Hey guys.. I got an RB25 head for a 25/30 build. Dont be turned off it.. It needs a good clean but internally its in very good condition. Now.. I have a question.. Is this a VVL head? Because I noticed that it has the enlarged ends at the cam shaft covers. I noticed that my dads RB25DET VVL has these too. Below is my RB25DE head out of a Staggy or 33. Note that its Does not have the same bulges comming out of the the camshaft covers. Any ideas?

Jap Stickers, Momo Steering Wheel

English translation of the Defect Bunny? -
Do you guys often have front wheel torque around corners? Because mine just doesnt seem to be budging..
-
Your popping the wrong fuse.. Are you popping the one in the car, on the right of the steering wheel? If you take out the one in the little kicker pannel on the right of the steering wheel, it will disable both ATTESSA and ABS Try taking out the one from the engine bay.. I havent had any problems with ABS being disabled with that one.. In terms of conflicting stories is that you can't do the same with R33's and R34's GTR's. Thats where it gets blurry. With R32's its fine. I have run my GTS4 for long periods of time in RWD and have heard many stories of GTR's being run in RWD aswell for long periods of time without any problem. If you take out the fuse, you make the ATTESSA circut incomplete. If it is incomplete, it will not sence the diffrence in G forces (which is what activates the front wheel torque) and will not engauge the transfer case and hence, front drive shaft, diff and wheels.

speaking of 1000's.. this is my 1000th post.. not as memorable as 1000 NA threads.. I just hope my 1000 posts have gone to some use and they haven't been all talkin shit

There's alot of space under the guards now.. What offset/width Work VS-XX's? Theres nothing worse than wrong offsets
-
If you dont mind asking, How much did it set you back?
-
Covered many times.. Nope, its fine.. R32's you can pop the 4WD fuse in the engine bay on the drivers side.. And shes a go-er You can't do the same with 33's and 34's

How do you know when your engine is being starved of oil? I mean its not like when the engine is being starved of fuel and all power cuts out..

Stock R32 Gtr Front Strut Brace
GTS4WD replied to GTS4WD's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
So I assume its the N1 that had th Orange strut bars? I dont assume that 1-2kg diffrence is going to have much of an effect on a 1400kg car. Are they stiffer than the alloy counterparts? It just seems like the alloy ones are flimsy.
