  1. AHhh now i see.. actually most of the ones i saw had that leather cracked and what not on the handbrake.. i guess its just how it was handled prior to me and how it was stored. I have not tried to skid it yet and what not lol..i like to change all the fluids//pads etc first then get use to the car and let the new stuff sink in... then see what she is made of. Im thinking about trying the leather retrim myself ( for the handbrake) will let everyone know how it goes.. Just gotta see where i can get those weird bloody stoppers that hold the trimming to the panel.. (anyone know? bunnings etc? ) That will be my project for this saturday... getting the nismo gnob + retrim
  2. did i whatta? the pigeon has no agenda?
  3. /moo good stuff... i just waxed my car too.. should of gone.. but i need the fuel for tues
  4. Hi there.. I used K&H Gloss BLack - For PLastic //Vinyl (it has a durable compound in it so it doesnt crack at the first movement) Basicly removed the gunk on the plastic first Then used some all purpose cleaner to get rid of the dirt etc.. Sanded it down with super fine. 4 Coats of K&H Plastic Prime 4 Coats of K&H Gloss Black 1hr between coats yadda yadda yadda
  5. Hey there.. Its not as daunting as you think... and at least with a wing you can rip it off the car easy.. You will have to get the paint in a can ( spray can is fine.. cost a bit more per L but its easier for you) and also get it colour checked with your car.. get some primer ( prob only need 1 can) Clear coat Sandpaper ( super fine + fine + slightly coarse ) x 1 each I can give ya a hand if you want. but it feels better when you do it yourself Sandpaper x 3 pieces 1-2 Cans of Silver ( color coded) 1 Can Clear Cloat 1 Can Primer ( fibreglass) also some kind of pepsol//grease remover is needed to. Prob cost you around 100 bucks to get everything... But you would be left with most of a can of primer + clear coat ( for the next time you do some painting )
  6. I finially got some pics up of the car.. Ive had her for 2 weeks now.. It was basicly stock.. but had the option 2 pack from the factory ( ALSD//chrome kickpanels//super hiacas strut bars /// 4 inch screen + 6 stacker ( which is getting ripped out)// oh oh oh and the word Skyline is green when the lights are on So far i have only done a few cosmetic things to it repainted the inside dash trim to gloss black.. Resprayed the mats ( genuine nissan ones) to matt black Annnnd t15 tinting.. I gotta get one of those nismo leather gear knobs from the suppliers we got on the forums + retrim the leather hand break sorounding. Anyhoo.. heres pics ..tell me what you all think of the repainting of the dash too
  7. When i had my silvia it had a low vertex body kit, debadged, shiny black with a straight through (dump pipe replace for the last 2 months) 3" system and all the other usuals... It was loud when it wanted to be.. and i was never pulled over.. THinking of it now.. i was kinda lucky.. Had the skyline for about 2 weeks now.. and have not been pulled over.. I guess it's the area and also if you attract dickheads too ( tards who want to race you on a road) Ive been lucky... heres hoping it stays that way
  8. I hope that wasnt directed at me.. Just because one company says its good ( northfield//alpine) doesnt mean its the be all and end all. I also listed a few brands that i have seen//tested//installed and found to be high performance... ( for the medium - high price range) Also the jaycar stuff is cheap yes.. and ive seen it do suprising things.. but it wont push the envelope for power.. Now sound deadening is good yes... but most ( back me up here hotr34) skylines and imports have some form of deadinging in there anyway.. so why waste 150 bucks a door on something he doesnt need? ( as stated a few posts up) you pay for what you get... and id rather cripple myself for a little while and get decent gear thats not going to overheat//blow in the not so distant future when they try to impress the "bros" and crank it up. I got a moderate quality soundsystem for my girly.. and i think it cost here around 1200 ( inc install) Put most of the bucks into the deck (JVC -KDSHX855) and the splits.. and just got some JL 10's for the fill. THis will just go back and fowarded on trying to show who has the biggest e-peen.. So instead ill say what not to touch. Dont Touch -------------- Sony ( anything) No name brands ( like polka audio etc) thats about it.. Also take a look at the companies and see what they specialise in.. theres a high chance they know what they are doing..especially if they have been around a while. Id have a chat to a few people over the phone dude. HOTR34 is willing to share his expertiese.. call him then call Chris too see what he says.. then make the decision yourself n.b I may need some advice too soon.. ripped out my deck from my old car and need to speak about installs and gear for the r33.
  9. When i picked mine up i was stoked.. I kinda missed my old car though.. My old silvia i had spent over 15,000 on it.. But i got in the skyline... paid for it in p.h.a.t cash and then drove away.. I think the first thing the hit me was "ahhh yeah.....!!!! theres room in this badboy" 6'2 and squeezing into a silvia everyday kinda sucked.. especially since i had the sunroof option too. oh.. and putting the foot down was good too.. but more to the point i like the rooooooom in the car lol the performance can come later... but hey... i own a skyline lah lah lah lah lah
  10. *sniff sniff sniff* i smell some one who was suckered @ Northfield. for the money on those.. ESPECIALLY the x-type splits.. you can get something much better and cheaper.
  11. I may take you up on that offer just the first time so i can get my feet wet. Thanks heaps col.. Its kinda like swimming the first time as a nipper.. you need someone to hold your hand (mind you i wont hold your hand.. prob just the jesus bar)
  12. hey ghost... sure mate... i also think he had a silver one there with 90,000 on the clock for 12 flat on the road ( hes got lots there still, just give him a yarn) heres a direct link to what he has got ( however he gets more in, so just ask him) Even though i had to do some pissy little things to the car, he was very easy to approach, he let me spend 4 hours checking out 2 cars, test drive 3 of em, and get 1 checked out by another mechanic.. And as you will see, there are very moderatly priced ( considering you get warranty with them too + rego ) Happy hunting Car Importer
  13. Im going to be honest here... a 1000 dollar system that will rock your socks off... you are completly fooling yourself (not being mean here just being honest) 1. You want quality sound.. you use quality cabling.. that will cost a minimum of 200 bucks ( includes cross overs) 2. You want performance you get a decent deck ( sorry a sony deck wont cut it) 3. The quality is from the front end.. subs are meant for fill of the hz you cant hear with mids and tweets.. So you CAN skint on that.. but i dont reccomend it... however piss off the 12's and get 10's.. You want respsonse and a good recurve..10's all the way.... and anything more in a car is a waste of time 4. No point in getting expensive splits if you cant amp the power up... so between good splits and good amp... go the amp.. So heres what i would leave for a "blow your socks off system" Deck : 500 - 5000 Cabling : 200 ( 4+2 gauge + gold crossover) Splits : 100-300 bucks Subs : 300 ( 10" x 2) Amp : 500- 7000 Parts for Install ( clips // mda // nails glue etc) : 100 Total : 1700 - 12800 Cadence // SPL // Cleft Design // AudioBahn // JVC would be the only gear i would touch and Cadence // Phoenix GOld for the cabling sorry to bust your bubble there champ.. but them the ropes... I spent 10,000 on my system last time ( 5 of that was on the deck) and it all matters. heres a link of what was in my car Sound system in my old silvia However you can get cheap stuff that will put out duff duff as follows JL x 2 12"s in Box : 180 Kicker 6" Splits : 110 JL 4 channel Amp : 300 JVC Head Deck (mosfet power + 9amp minimum) : 500 Cabling : 200 Install : do it yourself? Total : 1290 most of the stuff above you can get from JB hi fi.. they are pretty good and you can heckle em down. need more info gimme a holla
  14. Fill in the gaps here... do tell.. Previous history and location would be unreal please
  15. its the spice that makes it nice! Its the fries that gives the surprise btw.. what happened to that oil car.. i hear it was running for 50,00kms on the oil.. then there was no follow up.. i think they are hiding the results from us... scared we are going to fill up on canola oil.,. lol imagine that..after a long hard drive on the track... take the gasket cover off and thow in some chicko rolls for the drive home
  16. I use to go to the Big pineapple all the time... and we use to steal all the macadamias off the ground.. can you still steal them?... or is it fenced off cause of mongrels like me in the 90's Currambim Sanctuary Honey Factory Mt Tamborine you gotta see them too
  17. Im keen to hit the tracks... but dont laugh at me for being lame please.. im sure of the average is 1:10.00 etc ill come in something like 7:59.00. Insurance isnt covered though on the track.. ngghhhh..its my only car.. i dont want it dinged up from peeps hitting me in the bum cause im too slow. Damage Pics

Pffffft I paniced a lot from hearing stuff like this on the silvia forums.. I had a 180sx at the time and it got rear ended.. The quotes were around 9,000 to repair it.. my car i bought for 12,000. Their "GENERAL" rule of thumb is if its more then 50% ( aami anyway) it CAN be a write off. I showed them receipts for work done to it ( FMIC//exhaust blah blah) and it came up to around 17,000. ( which is still more then 50% damage) They asked me what i wanted to do and i said repair.. i asked for the cheque and i repaired it myself. Cost me 5,000 to repair and i got lots of funky stuff done too ( thank goodnes for quoting goons that dont know where to get prices for parts from) Lots of heartache though.. I had the car for 1 month ( 3 weeks of that was doing the mods in the shop) Raniny afternoon... i brake to the corner which was 100m from home... big truck didnt stop.. *POW* I wasnt speeding, the light was red so i was slowing down.. Good thing though was the fact that the dude knew he was in the wrong and was very calm about it and got it resolved within 20 minutes of it happening.. " i just couldnt stop" So a bad situation become good in the end. Yours damage doesnt look like anywhere near the problems i had.. Just check under the car as well.. see that the suspension is ok and what not.. I was bloody lucky too since all my damage was pure cosmetic.. ( before i went ahead and gave it to AAMI i gave it to my mechanic and asked him if its worth repairing )
