  1. So what knee-jerk reaction can we expect from the government as a result of this incident?
  2. I am afraid I think Duncan is right. I think it would be totally up to Slide whether they reimburse you your installation money as an act of good faith, but not actually required by law. Must be frustrating nonetheless. Sorry to hear you've had problems mate, car modding is expensive so mistakes tend to be expensive too
  3. HKS Kansai coil pack cover and timing belt belt cover are "discontinued" according to Nengun. Any ideas where I might find them elsewhere or equivalent(and cheaper if possible )? Any other brands that make them? Doesn't necessarily need to be Carbon. I would put a clear timing belt cover and paint my coil pack cover but it's getting a bit ratty. Cheers.
  4. Agreed mate. Much rather listen to my RB these days
  5. I'm a big fan of the paint job... too bad it's getting old. My motor and suspension etc is almost complete, would love to sink some cash into a paint job like that. Then I can buy a daily and stop wasting money.
  6. Haha true that. In retrospec 2 x 12in woofs probably wasn't the best fit for my old VL! The bass wasn't dooof doof doof, it was more like vvvvvvvvv vvvvvvvvvv vvvvvvvv
  7. I used to drive a VL long time ago though It had a great sound system, too bad the car used to shake uncontrollably whenever it was cranked! To be fair ALOT of people develop the love for the RB engine while in their first car VL. Anyway /derail over.
  8. Haha. Scrolled back up after reading this and it really is giving it one of these
  9. Fark... I wouldn't trust that Russian craftsmanship to hold together with that rig at full tilt.
  10. Not a big fan, but I wouldn't say no, if they were handing them out
  11. Fantastic mate. Most in depth build post I have ever seen anyway. Where can I get carbon fibre spark plug and cam covers for my RB25!? Thanks for your hard work and good luck with the rest (if there's anything left to do!)
  12. Lada Niva imo.
  13. ^^^^^^^^^^^^ Absolutely spot on. /clap
  14. That's terrible man, you must be gutted. I am also pretty interested as to why you're only going to get 7k through insurance though.
  15. Not too mention what the radiation is doin to your balls! That sucks Dean, tough luck. I bet you won't think twice about using your mobile phone while driving in the future, I mean why not, so this cop has effectively caused a potential problem on the road rather than solving one.
  16. I believe that Hamish meant, don't lie in your applications for insurance. If you get caught it can really come back to haunt you later. I have heard people have issues where they have been driving as the nominated driver on someone else's insurance with no personal insurance history of their own. When they tried to get their own policy, they started from scratch. Can anyone confirm this? There ARE plenty of insurance threads on these boards so have a look around. Being rating 1 and 25+ helps a lot. I can't wait to see if I get a new discount at 30, to go along with the first "life crisis". Cheers.
  17. I don't mind the Neo covers when done right. Once your letters are painted it will look sweet! Might be worth removing though, as I have, it's just another thing holding in the heat and there's plenty you can do to clean up the RB25 and make em look nice without the cover.
  18. No history of head gasket blown but I will get comp test done anyway. Comp test of 18months ago came up fine thats before the problem arose though. Exhaust smells rich, don't think it's sweet. No real evidence of coolant in the cylinders. Coolant in the radiator looks normal also, no milkiness/oiliness. Cheers mate.
  19. Pretty sure the fuel is ok, although some octane booster might be a good idea. It does run the same though from tank to tank. Injector cleaner is also a good idea. I have new injectors going in shortly...might also fix the problem. I'd do it myself but I am not 100% on tuning the PFC myself. Coils as you say are new... and the plugs are gapped to 0.8. i am not clear on whether the fact that the old plugs were gapped so small(0.1mm) and the new plugs are gapped to (0.8mm) as per advice from this board and numerous other people could make a difference given that th eold tune was done with the smaller gap but that doesnt seem very logical to me, it's just a matter of me pulling it all apart again and gapping the plugs back down to (0.1/0.2) to test. I hope its not CAS or something more sinister. The car is running ~12psi but I run plats normally so I doubt its a plug grade issue. I have some coppers in there atm while I am testing for all these issues. I am getting cams/turbo/injectors/fuel pump installed soon and have been assured that the car wil leave the workshop sans miss so if I dont fix it myself soon, I trust all will be well as soon as I can afford the install/tune. My biggest worry now is I hope I am not doing any damage driving the car around while its running this way. I generally dont take it above 3k rpm and I dont drive too far but i do need it to get to work.
  20. 98RON only mate, that what it's tuned for I use the same petrol station when I can as well as they have fuel that was proven to be good prior to the misfire issue and in my old R33.
  21. Sorry Dahtone, but I returned to seller. Got a pair of Bride seats now. Happy customer. Thanks for your help gentlemen.
  22. Well I have a set of East Bear seats available to me. Pretty sure I can still hand back my GTR seats and grab those and get a lil cash back. Might be the way to go. Still undecided. =/
  23. Yep that's what I am gonna do, unless someone who has done it before advises me of a better option.
