  1. MYOFB = Mind your own f#ckin business?
  2. Yeah this is actually pretty strange. Prior to changing my coils... the car would occasionally run fine(i.e. run on 6 cylinders), occasionally it felt like it was running on 5 cylinders, sometimes felt like less... or that is what I interpreted the different feels to, if that makes sense. Now that I have changed the coils, pulling the breather pipe, blow off valve, etc. off the car to get to the coils, then re-installing it all, the problem feels different and it is constant. It almost feels like I have a leak in my exhaust manifold (I only know what this sounds/feels like due to breaking a stud on my old VL Comm and then driving it down to the exhaust shop - bap bap bap bap). Could installing the breather pipe or blow off valve incorrectly(showhow >.<) cause a lumpy wrx-like idle and shitful performance? Would a leak in the BOV connection cause something like this? I might get some gasket goo on the weekend and make sure I have a tight seal. Cheers again.
  3. Closer to 400hp I believe without going to a converter... I could be wrong.
  4. If it were up to me I'd do the turbo back exhaust first. My 2c. As to what turbo you should use... check out this thread: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Rb...0+turbo+upgrade
  5. DO IT. I dare you!
  6. Interesting that you say that. My GTT would owe me about $50K including purchase price and many many mods. I wonder if I would have been better off waiting a little while and buying an R. Is a stock GTR better than a fairly heavily worked GTT? That is the question. AWD vs 2WD. GTR has the funky computer display, GTR looks meaner, but the GTT would now be running quite a few more horses at the wheels.
  7. You'll get more out of a R33 GTR for the same cash outlay. It will most likely cost you more to run and maintain though. Depends on how much you like the look/shape/interior/extra features of the R34 GTT I went for the R34 GTT because I am willing to hold out for an R34 or R35 GTR. Cheers.
  8. I got a PowerFC on my NEO bought before Apexera ran into their financial troubles. These days I think you'd need to find one second hand. Check the For Sale section mate. There are plenty of good alternatives to a second hand powerfc though
  9. That's the problem, imo. The character's are not realistic. Skewed for drama. Carl Williams was not a retard... The show itself is entertaining but if you know anything about what actually happened and the people involved (and not the journo/police angle) then half of it is bs. I guess I must expect too much. Carl's not happy... lol Anyway it's an entertaining show with skylines and definitely worth watching.
  10. Would resetting the PowerFC have any effect?
  11. I created a little post a while ago as well as doing a fair bit of research on the forum because my R34 GTT was missing, running like shit on and off... sounding like a wrx. Anyway today I finally got around to chucking some splitfire coils in and long story short it's still doing it. On a positive note, the throttle response seems to have improved considerably. Any tips on what's next for me to check/replace? Could I have done something wrong with the coil install? Seemed pretty plug and play to me. Could the sparks be fouled since I have been driving with this problem for a while? Could it be my O2 sensor? I have one to install, I just can't get under the car to install it. I also have a Z32 AFM and new injectors to install, which I will get my tuner to install so he can tune the PFC to suit at the same time. Anything else? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.
  12. Best to check with local authority's. It varies state to state, but here in VIC, I believe the allowance is 1 intake modification (so either pod or intercooler mod) and 93db exhaust plus associated emissions compliance. This is most probably different in WA(unfortunately for us Victorians it is probably less strict in WA). Don't quote me on any of this and call the local authority mate or check it out on their website
  13. Is there anyone else slightly disappointed by "Underbelly"?
  14. Land Rover Discovery '93 (1 year) VL Commodore (5 years) R33 Skyline GTST (3 years) R34 Skyline GTT (2 years) Future - Make my current a track car and buy an R35 GTR or the new Jaguar XF plus daily driver maybe an Audi S4 wagon or something sexy! The garage is getting full.
  15. Wow.. you win mate! That is the best age to car to insurance ratio I have ever seen.
  16. Probably been asked before but is there a big difference between 98 and 100? I have never used 100 and am a pretty loyal bp 98 user. How much extra is the 100? You can't get it from many places, so do you have your cars tuned for 100RON risking getting caught at a servo that doesn't stock it? Is there a noticeable difference? Do you guys use it for track? Sorry for the noob questions. Cheers.
  17. If by chance you are buying an HKS system such as Silent Hi Power it should be fine. I can't recommend it high enough. I have it on my R34GTT and it is quiet at idle and has a beautiful note and volume under decent load. Sorry, have no idea about twin systems for Skyrines. Cheers.
  18. 28, R34GTT, $35,000 cover, ~$1200 premium, Shannons, Parked in garages at work and home in relatively nice areas, classed as moderately modified by Shannon's. I am up for a price rise after the next set of mods which will take me into the "heavily" modified class. Being old and rating 1 helps
  19. One thing that does strike me as a bit strange looking is there seems to be a height difference between the front and rear guards... it must just be the angle/perspective of the pics.
  20. Yeah. It's about time they popped an LS7 into something over here
  21. 2 things I am looking forward to at the Melb Motorshow tomorrow: Bugatti Veyron Nissan GTR a third has raised it's head: Holden Coupe 60 I don't think anything can beat W16 TTTT.
  22. .. or any GTR of similar vintage to the V8
  23. It's been some time but it looks like they got this one right. Nice one! Agreed. It is a typical Holden Interior. The seats aren't too bad but those rear seats look uncomfy as hell, not very friendly if you want a quickie with the missus in the back
  24. Oh it shows too, particularly in the handling and braking department. /sarcasm off
  25. I didn't know the elephant man had sick chromies.
