  1. looks nice, but its gunna sound uber weird...waaaah, pssch...lol. Love yer work.
  2. 1 thing is that when your car (mine at least) comes off the hoist it takes a day or so for the suspension to settle back to the proper ride height. Sounds like they are royally screwing over people. Id still contact CA as u didnt get the service u paid for....
  3. They were only ever meant for a 6cyl racing @ bathurst V8's in torries are just plain stupid...they go like a shower of sh.. though. All my mates had, or knew of, some seriously worked torries including the guys from GTR supplies (yes it was around before skylines) who built some monsters. I always said my dream project was an injected 5lt in a lc gtr shell... :PBJ:
  4. VDO used to do it...dont know if they still do or not though
  5. Sounds like a tyre place here in SA. I was talking to one of the guys who works there, and he says " Oh we had a GTR come in, and all the guys were drooling over it, so we all took it for a big thrash around the block, the manager even did a huge burnout / takeoff out the front. I then said to the guy, yer thats why i dont take my car to places like yours...and i walked off. Sounds like they possibly had a good time with your car, then hit a curb as said ^. Id be asking to speak to the manager, or owner, and pointing out you are not a moron, u know how the car was etc...I hate places like this that try rip u off. Id even ring consumer affairs to complain u didnt get what u paid for...(im a picky bastard:))
  6. i got one, pm me
  7. could be ignitor or coil packs. There is no test that im aware of to narrow which of the two, except for swapping them over with "known" ie new working items....
  8. I think i could be happy with my car, if i got it to the point where i wont have to upgrade anything else. Except maintenance items of course... Yes, do tell Kym...any progress?
  9. ive been in my mates LJ back to back with shit tyres vs. bridgstone bf goodrich's He actually slammed the brakes as someone stopped in front of us, the car did its usual tail slide, and crash...bye bye 1/4 panel. He then got the BF's about a week later and almost had the same sh*t happen, someone stopped right in front of us. This time it was a little chirp and a lockup, from which we pulled straight up. Almost a neck snapper...great rubber those BF's (lookm sexy with the white writing on the tyre too (ol school) Remeber to box up the rear end to get the good takeoff's too
  10. Yer i ripped out my rb20 and cylinder #6 had a snapped stud on it. Funny thing was when i rang up Nissan before buying my import they said to watch out for snapped exhausat studs on the rb's When dropping the new motor in, i replaced the studs in my head, and with a torque wrench it takes soo little effort to get them to the proper torque...if u were going by hand its would be too easy just to go that little too hard. Then next time the manifold does its heat cycle...bang With regards to doing it yourself...its one of those..can i be farked or not, as getting enough room in there to get a drill in, then tapping it out....takes time and a bent back (which i dont have one for anymore)
  11. considering the good old holden 6 is the same bolt up pattern as the rb30 (bolt in) it wouldnt be hard at all....the gearbox, and driveline would be the hard bit though. Oh and the fact torries like to slide the arse around when u need to do a fast stop aint that fun
  12. u shouldnt slowly release the clutch Twin plates need a bit of revs, and release it. Its not a street car clutch u can ride...Drive it like its supposed to be and u wont have the grind. the ringing with the clutch in is normal though.
  13. am i missing something, or is there supposed to be pics?
  14. Looks like u got a slow oil leak there Ruffels Nice std front pipe too
  15. yes auto trans fluid. Dextron II
  16. Castrol auto trans fluid. (ATF)
  17. Foolboost here in SA has a gtr box and clutch in his gts4 running behind his rb30det. Its just been discussed in the last page or two in the rb30det thread (huge one)...
  18. Yer mine only ever buzzes quietly in the backround. Cant even hear it most of the time. Only time it gets annoying is on hot days (read 32deg+)...never gurgles tho....
  19. we discussed this a while ago....doing the nod, 1 finger off the steering wheel etc...too damn hard. Everytime i see some other knob in a jdm car out on the road and im in my line, they are always looking at me sly to see what im driving for some reason, or they have a mate with them that is breaking his neck to have a look...what the f**k is so special about other peoples cars?? Especially my beat up wreck?? I undertand people seeing others they know, but racing, and trying to "impress" me with doing skiddies on the road aint funny at all....it just draws attention to me, which isnt cool if i get defected!
  20. Just spoke to Noltec then. Next shipment will not be in until a week and a half from now. This means i cant order anything until they have more stock in im afraid. Its out of my hands, sorry guys. This happened with the r33 gb (same bushes). Las time they told me same thing, and 5 days later they had them...
  21. Yer ive decided to give these federals a go on the rear. For now im sticking with some intermediates on the front. Until i hit the track im only worried about the rears spinning. Should be intrersting to see how the 4wd goes with the motor, eh Andrew
  22. Yer should definitly have both orders through by then
  23. any chance we could get carbon fibre grilles made as well?
  24. Sorry, what i meant was i had a separate oil pressure, and oil temp gauge and had water temp on the pfc hand controller. But yer, water temp if you arnt getting a pfc.
  25. you'll get yours dont worry.....
