Ok guys pick a 2x 1gig stick pack that will run with the motherboard i picked above from the attached list Or should I just get this bundle pack - http://www.nintek.com.au/x/scripts/prodVie...?idproduct=4513 Its the same mainboard but with OCZ PC4000 Gold GX XTC 2GB Kit (2x1GB 2048Mb) DDR500 ram included ASUSQVL.pdf
-
Yup, gunna get the case, and gtr psu at the same time. Im going with the - http://www.nintek.com.au/x/scripts/prodVie...?idproduct=2030 ram instead. Seems to be a little better price than buy 4 x 512mb sticks. The corsair ram is also on the Asus QVL, so i know it will work http://www.nintek.com.au/x/scripts/prodVie...?idproduct=5037 for the HDD it is. Hopefully it should be running soon. BTW is it just me or is that Nintek shop the cheapest in Australia atm??
-
ME! my car is being resprayed in May, so i need one for then! I'll pm you rezz about getting one if its cheaper.
-
what ram would be better? The one in the link i showed above (1 gig) or this for $100 more - http://www.nintek.com.au/x/scripts/prodVie...?idproduct=2213 @ 2 gig. I have no idea about ram... research tells me i need DDR 400 ram to fit, ive checked the list from the mainboard and it seems this is the go - http://www.nintek.com.au/x/scripts/prodVie...?idproduct=2030

When i refill the overflow, then go for a long drive, i can hear it bubble out the overflow - ie blow out the water i refilled it with, then as it cools it sucks back in all the contents of the overflow leaving it empty again. did that make sense? It shouldnt be the headgasket, as the motor was rebuilt with a 3 layer cometic metal head gasket, which has inbuilt o-rings good tip though, i'll get it pressure tested then i'll know for sure

disco, why is the 52t better than the 56t 3037s? i was gunna use the 3037s 56t on my 3lt...just wondering why u suggested the smaller (?) compressor wheel...

there always will be something better out there Ok, ive put down a list of basic stuff i want to use to build a system now: case - http://www.auspcmarket.com.au/show_product_info.php?input[product_code]=CA-GTRICUTE508BST&input[category_id]=221 chip- http://www.nintek.com.au/x/scripts/prodVie...?idproduct=2292 mainboard- http://www.nintek.com.au/x/scripts/prodVie...?idproduct=3185 hdd - http://www.itwarehouse.com.au/warehouse/de...EG%2DST3250823A ram - http://www.nintek.com.au/x/scripts/prodVie...?idproduct=2025 graphics is - http://www.nintek.com.au/x/scripts/prodVie...?idproduct=5360 if you see anything wrong with it, let me know etc... Ive decided to go with AMD for chip, and Nvidia for graphics. Mainboard seems like a nice one for SLi if i choose to do it later too Thats around 2k minus a few things, but i can make up them later... i agree also about making up the pc. i liked doing it last time and was great fun to build it, then get the software etc running, to finally playing games etc on it gives some sort of satisfaction Better than a 1k xbox anyday

its wont be very drivable. ive got a similar sized turbo, and it sucks balls. boost is very early -1500rpm. boost is instant wheel spin, first gear is useless, and there is no top end. Any car with a half decent op end will just pull away as u curse having to change gear at 5500rpm. get a gt30r or gt35r straight up and be done with it.
-
which is? for us noobs
-
yer id rather spend 500 now, then another 500 down the track when its slowing down... last time i went intel for chip and Nvidia graphics card. This time i wanna go for AMD cpu and the best mainboard (which chipset etc?)to suit. (has to have slot for aroung 2 gig (1 gig now)) graphics, i dont really care, as long as its well supported, and the price is decent. If one is only slightly better than the other but costs like $50 more, i'll just get teh cheaper one i guess....
-
looking at the best graphics card for say $500 Want an AMD chip (something similar to a p4 3.4?) Not sure what mainboard or fan yet....the list grows...*gets excited*
-
got a electrical shop here that rewinds /reinsulates coils, so im gunna see what the deal is with the rb20 ones. If it works it could be cheaper than splitfires how much for a decent 1 then?
-
lol...well yer budget will help. I spose around what you are suggesting. I dont want the latest stuff that no-ones got software for yet, or sfa games will run off it. Just something thats new, with good software support and will play the games at better speeds than average

Ok guys its upgrade time for me I have built my own pc in the past, but as we all know what you know now, is outdated yesterday. So i wanna break it down, and hear what you guys think would be the best parts to buy to build a computer (ie chip, mainboard, case, powersupply etc) Im going to be using it as mainly a pc games machine so it will need a graphics card (preferably with tv out). Ram is easy, but what brand etc? -i know around 2 gig is good. Basically i want it to last a few years (3?) so overclocking will be good as well. So tell me what parts you would use, why, and the costs of each item. (i will buy online to get parts cheaper if i have to) Ignore operating systems for now, but xp will be running. and the cable net im on now too What would you build??

Tried Shaun @ Boostworx? What needs doing?
-
yer i got the black nismo one too. I found ity gets damn hot (probably why they sell them covers for em) and the colour faded on the top from usage. I didnt stick the gearshift pattern sticker (supplied) ontop of the knob, and its faded and scratched (who knows how that happed??). I like the way it feels though.

Motor has been rebuilt, and all parts are new (besides rad cap) thermostat is genuine nissan rb20 item, new pump, new clutch fan. It doenst have appear to leak as the level in the radiator stays the same all the time (once overflow is empty). I'll go over the lot thought to check it. thanks guys
-
dunno
-
lol...yer im sure it doesnt leak. Its starting to sound more like Waz' idea of faulty radiator cap. I reckon it may be letting go too early....

Exhaust Manifold Upgrade With Turbo Upgrade?
Bl4cK32 replied to WazR32GTSt's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
SK ive got the same manifold as you have there, and i want to have it extrude honed, and ceramic coated the same as you said black, to keep it stock looking (so it doesnt stand out). Where did u get it done, and how much was it? thanks -
Nah you dont have to buy the pinapples if you dont want to. People fit them to stiffen up the mounting of the subframe to the car (which is what replacing these mounts does anyway). So you really just need these by themselves. Im going to fit the pinapples as well while the subframe is out to set it up for traction. Basically i want to do all i can while the subframe is out to save having to drop it out again later. The pic below shows where the pinapples go, these bushes are actually fitted to the subframe (see pic on first page) You need 4 small ones for traction.
-
its a speco(?) one with with the button jobbie on top. I'll try replacing it, but it doesnt seem to be the problem as it opens and closes.... I dont like the higher pressure caps, as id rather the overflow let go, than blow a radiator hose when im out somewhere....
