R33 Mv Auto Shift Kit Install
stenve replied to stenve's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I rang mike, from what i could understand you block off the 2 middle accumulators with the 2 welsh plugs. and the empty one at the back (towards back of car) gets the spring in it. with mine the big servo at the rear of the valvebody also came down when it didnt need to. I ended up taking it to Bob Grant Autos here in brisbane. they took it apart and put it back together again. i asked what was the problem and they simply said "it wasnt assembled correctly" No idea what part wasnt assembled properly but my guess is it was that servo no going in back correctly. as mike mentioned that may be the problem. but i now have 4th again so i dont care haha auto guide is here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Au...os-t208644.html -

stenve replied to stenve's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
ok so its all in and it goes. no overdrive though it wont shift into 4th if i sit at 60/ 70kmh and turn O/D on nothing happens, let the foot off the gas to see if it will change and it just drops down to neutral done the auto diag check and everything is fine. will be giving mike a call tomorrow to see whats up. but feel free to add some input in here tonight! -

Speedometer Calibration
stenve replied to SHANE666's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
i have 18" 350z rims on my r33 im running 235/40/18s on all fours which keeps my speedo pretty darn close to being correct. its out like 0.5% or something that should give you something to go by, instead of just relying on the tyre guys word. also google for wheel size calculator or something similar. there is a site that will work it out for you -
yeah ive got no idea :S haha don't even know what my plates are? haha standard issue wont miss it though. its the new holden green.
-
I'd be happy for my car to be in on this if it goes ahead. green r33 series 2 with 350z anniversary wheels so its pretty stock looking
-
ill be coming along to this for my first cruise i think

Actuator Thing Touching Jjr Dump Pipe
stenve replied to WET-25T's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
because i didnt have a bolt that would fit in there to stop the exhaust coming out of it. so i had to plug it up somehow -
Actuator Thing Touching Jjr Dump Pipe
stenve replied to WET-25T's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
alrighty... so i put my highflow cat and jjr split dump pipe on today. i foudn that my original cat was gutted out haha. so good to get a new one on there. had to drill out the hole for the sensor at the back of the cat as it wouldnt fit in. couple of my studs were broken where the dump connects to back of turbo so i'll need to get that fixed. but for now i just went nuts with gasket goo to keep it sealed. As for the actuator hitting i didnt get to see it physically touching when i fitted it. but as i get into higher rpm its definatly creeping. from about 10psi to 12ish once you get over 5000ish rpm. nothing outrageous but its there also found out that my old o2 sensor was stuffed. the old one would read the same voltage all the time. this one actually varies. now the car feels much nicer and boosts a bit quicker i just need to sought out the actuator thing. i'll probably take it off and grind it out a little. or just go get another one. this one only went on as i had it sitting there from my old r33. -

the xforce cat has the hole for the cat sensor. Alot of people will tell you to stay right away from these though. i used one in my old gtst with roughly 190rwkw and it was fine. just ordered another one for the new gtst. if you're aiming for more than 200rwkw probably best to invest in a metal cat or something similar I also used the JJR split dump on my old car and it seemed fine. about to use the same one on the new car aswell in the next day or so. so we'll see how that goes with the wastegate. From what ive heard the JJR bellmouth doesnt have the same issues. so i might try that next if i have issues with the split dump -
Ok guys... Put the new ECU in today. Mod List: 96 R33 series 2 auto 3" trust catback exhaust Bosch 040 with 13.8 volts running to it Silicon intake pipe with trust air filter Cold air intake feeding pod Turbotech Boost controller set at 12psi Greddy Front mount intercooler Stock AFM Stock Turbo Stock Injectors Going on next week are: Splitfire coilpacks JJR Split dump/front pipe Xforce 3" High flow cat Stage 2 Shift kit from MV Automatics pulled my ecu out and threw the new one in. Started first time easy. Idle was nice and smooth (a little low for the auto 500rpm, should be about 800rpm) Didnt get to drive too much, just home from work in traffic Car seems much smoother, pulls to 12psi flatspots are almost gone its quite responsive. Plan is now to get the few parts that are left onto the car then onto a dyno to check over afr's Then i will be sending the printouts to toshi so he can fine tune any areas that are out I'll keep you updated as i go ahead with it. but so far i am very very happy with the service Toshi has provided and he is very good to deal with. Cheers Steve

Toshi is currently doing my map as we speak for a series 2 rb25. as for chiptorque doing fine tuning can they alter toshis maps to correct that parts that aare a bit out? or is that just for the rb20 ecus?

Ohlins Coilover Adjustments
stenve replied to stenve's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
thats not really good news... i thought i read somewhere about a place on southside brissie that deals with them. surely a decent suspension place should be able to fix the damper adjustments on the front shock? -
i got nexen n3000s 235/40/18 fitted and balanced for $145 guy does all different sorts and sizes of tyres. PM if you'd like contact details

Ohlins Coilover Adjustments
stenve replied to stenve's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
yeah thats what i suspected. might take em to a suspension joint and see what they can do about it. know anyone in the brisbane area that services ohlins gear? -
I recently isntalled a set of these: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...t&id=114560 http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...t&id=114560 its my understanding to adjust height you lift up the spring. on the spring seat there is a circlip that you can move into the other grooves? is this correct? they dont need c-spanners im guessing? also on the front damper adjustments one side noticeably clicks and only has a certain range of rotation. the other side just turns endlessly... can this be fixed easily? any idea what setting it would be running at in this state? so i can set the other side to be the same?
