Equivelent Suspension To Sydneykid
stenve replied to Rekin's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
What eibach springs are you guys using? the pro kit ones? where did you get them and prices? im still deciding wether to go this way or get my ohlins coilovers rebuilt... i cant decide what would be better, leaning towards rebuilding atm though. its about $500 for the front pair. (backs are fine) -
Equivelent Suspension To Sydneykid
stenve replied to Rekin's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
ive been looking at this recently also. fulcrum do the aus spec tein super street for r33 for around $2200 i think from memory. they also do a complete superpro bush and camber set for about $700 fitting for ALL of this was around $600 I think it was $3600ish for everything fitted, wheel alignment front and rear those prices may vary as its off the top of my head from when i rang them Elite racing here in QLD also do a bilstein/superpro kit very similar to sydney kids. Prices pulled from sauqld: Non Member Prices Bilstein Shocks (Pair) - $528 Shock Boots + Bumpstops (Pair) - $65 Springs (Pair) - $132 Swaybar - Heavy Duty (Blade Adjustable) - $220 Swaybar - Heavy Duty (Non Adjustable) - $198 Front Upper Control Arm Camber Bushes - $253 Front Castor Rod Bushes (Offset tube for Adjustment) - $99 Rear Upper Control Arm Camber Bushes - $132 Pineapples for Rear Crossmember - $88 so there if you get the top 3 items it comes to $1350 + shipping. and you should be able to fit them yourself. Done Hope that helps you and anyone else out. Also if you shoot Dan from elite an email he should be able to help you out. seems to be a great guy. he's on these forums also. Steve -

275/30/19 For $220 Cheap?
stenve replied to duff's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
not everyone has money to throw around everywhere. I have the same tyre (nexen n3000 but 235/40/18) cost me $130 a corner or there abouts fitted and balanced. seem to be coping fine with a 200rwkw GTST. I put them on to pass roadworthy after i had just bought the car Didnt feel like spending $1000's on tyres after spending a butload of money buying a new car. -
as the topic suggests i'm chasing a throttle body adapter for one of those chinese copy plenums would like brisbane area but willing to pay for postage if someones got one. Also may be interested in a Q45 TB. but would prefer to use the stock TB if i can. Cheers Steve

hahah yeah "test will be conducted at normal operating levels..." cause i drive my car around all the time at 5000rpm and above ive had it done to me before, told me to rev it to 3400 or something close to that. said its got a nice note and let me on my way.
-
mine came with the car, not my thing at all. problem is mine doesnt sit in properly, pops out while driving, takes a few goes to get the handbrake on. cant figure out how to swap them. but havent tried anything apart from what i mentioned in my first post.
-
id like to know this also. ive got that stupid drift button on mine so bought a replacement handbrake couldnt figure out how to remove the buttons so pulled the whole center console out and removed the handbrake... only to realise that you cant get the cable out because of the nut/screw thing at the end. as far as i could figure it out you would need to remove the entire cable and slide the cable back through the new handbrake from the rear end. i haven't actually looked at it yet but im pretty sure most handbrakes are crimped on at the rear wheel. so if anybody could shed some light on this that would be fantastic

Gtst R33 / Rb25det / Sii 1997
stenve replied to Nismo_DriftKing's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
i used castrol transmax Z, just undo the sump plug on the bottom of the transmission pan and let it drain. i used about 4.3litres from memory, just make sure you check your levels because too much or too little will screw with things. also give mike at MV autos in adelaide a call. he does the shift kits and can also supply you with a new filter for $33 i think. He's a helpful guy anyway and should be able to answer any general questions you have -
Ohlins Coilovers To Suit R33 Gtr
stenve replied to Duncan's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
i run pretty much the same setup on my r33 gtst great shock, pretty firm but not too crazy for the street. shock reconditioners in browns plains are also able to rebuild and re-valve these they have quoted me $220 a shock to do so. Good luck with the sale Duncan -
welcome back to the valley carpark becks haha haven't seen you in there for a while
-
ahhk cool thanks Chris, thats pretty much what i had figured out. thought there may have been some other little tricks like enabling/disabling beeps etc. Not sure if you did the car or not, alarm was already in when i bought it. Its the holden VE green r33 s2. so wether that strikes a bell or not i dunno
-
could always consider tightening of the clutch packs etc? replace the filter (you probably did that with shift kit install though) When i swapped my shift kit into the new box i had the valvebody profesionally cleaned by the auto guys. You can do resurfacing of the valvebody or some shit aswell perhaps think about getting a new trans cooler and lines? really depends on how much power you're aiming for and how much money you've got to spend
-
a little off topic But Chris do you have manual to the autowatch alarms? pretty sure ive got the 448premium (or something similar) has the remote with 2 large and 2 small buttons I've figured most stuff out like turning the car off manually as above but sometimes i randomly hit buttons and different shit happens would like to know whats going on haha

Decent Auto Transmission Specialists Brisbane (or Toowoomba)
stenve replied to rabs_33gtst's topic in Queensland
ive heard west side are pretty decent. my box recently shit itself. i found the cheapest option was buying another auto box and put that in. if you look around people usually sell them for $200ish if you get lucky. It then cost me $796 to have my old trans removed, shift kitted valvebody removed and cleaned and swapped into new transmission and new transmission installed. so $1000 all up. would be cheaper without all the valvebody messing around This work was done by bob grant autos in coorparoo. guys seemed pretty decent. try and speak to gary if you can though. he always seemed more helpful. -
Looks like fun, some good photos I need to pay more attention to things. I didnt even know this was on haha Next time definatly

Coilover Upgrades
stenve replied to evil_weevil's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
some good reading in this thread was actually thinking of going tein super streets in my r33 now after reading this i think it would be a good idea to keep my current ohlins and get the front pair rebuilt. as far as i can tell my ohlins are better gear they are just older and need a bit of care. front left shock is hitting the bump stops or something making a thudding noise when going over bumps, and the adjustment screws on the top are missing so i cant adjust damper is this something a rebuild would fix? how much are shock rebuilds usually? -
haha yeah i think i took your park
-
