  1. That's a fantastic idea! Will have to remember that one. This is my new toy. Got it yesterday.
  2. I was thinking about, but i'd only be running my little proton daily as the race car is currently not even a rolling shell Too late now but. Good to see it's filled up well in advance.
  3. I think the "expensive works bell" comment is more to do with fact that the works bell quick release hub is $319.00 where as the D1 is $89.00
  4. One of my parents cars had damage to the paint from egg, but that's cause it was on there for up to a week in the sun, we were on holidays when it was done. However if you get it off in the next day or two I've never had a problem. Egg shells on the other are real pain. My mates car got egged one night in a quiet residential street and you can see where the eggs hit cause there's tiny little chips down to the metal in the shape of the egg.
  5. I'm with Stuart. I've spent more than that on fuel in one track day.
  6. We looked into getting carbon doors for the race car but after cutting the intrusion bars out and alot of the metal from behind the trim and then relining it with a flat piece of alloy we didn't think a carbon door would be much if at all lighter. We also don't have windows either so we save alot of weight there too.
  7. That's the bleed nipple for the ATTESSA system. There is a black and yellow wire connected together behind the drivers kick panel, disconnect them and it puts the ATTESSA computer into bleed mode. You then bleed the system the same way as brakes, but instead of pumping the brake pedal you'll hear the ATTESSA pump priming itself. Obviously this is all done with the ignition on. Also make sure you connect the black and yellow wire back together before you drive it otherwise you'll stuff the front diff and transfercase clutch packs.
  8. Mate there's nothing wrong with the JustJap suspension control arms. We've had no problems with them. The only ones I'd steer clear of are the front upper control arms you have pictured. I had them in my road car and broke the locking clamp on one side which let the arm flap around and bent the other side about 30 degrees. I'd actually steer clear of any front upper control arms of that design. You'll need to get some of the slide type arms or fixed shorted arms as they are much stronger.
  9. sorry guys, bloody computer wigged out and posted 4 times
  10. You should be in the fast group with us. You're quick enough and you'll be surprised how much you improve when your chasing someone quick, ie. Duncan and Neil. (but if you try and imitate what Neil does with that radical in a car you'll end up in a world of trouble, lol) I was in group 1 on road tyres in the GTR so you'll be fine. Besides your car looks and sounds fast and we all know that's what really counts
  11. After a slow start it turned out to be an awesome day. thanks heaps to all the organisers who made it possible. Even though the driver briefing was long it was a driver training day and with so many first timers there Gary went through some key points for them which is what these days are all about. Hopefully everybody learned something from the day, I know I did. I've got to remember when I don't put semi's on that I've still got street tyres on and can't go trying to chase down Duncan and John (Boosted Zed) because I just don't have the grip that I need. lol Thanks again to everyone responsible for organising an awesome day.
  12. I've just paid again for my mate. he's a newbie so Group 5 please.
  13. PAID! Not sure if it'll be the race car or roadie yet. Probably both in case one breaks Chuck me in Group 2 as will most likely be the roadie on shagged tyres.
  14. Are there still spots left? If so I'll take one.
  15. Well that counts me out cause we all know what happens when Brad and I enter the same car in the same event. haha Will have to find something to enter in it though.
  16. Very nice Are you going to dry sump it too?
  17. Wish I had a hobby shop like that. Actually, wish I had a hobby shop at all That golf looks hot too
  18. Yep yep, the one and only. Going to try and put a passenger seat in it. Hopefully it will last the whole day. It doesn't have a great track record with Oran Park.
